Gradually, Arthur's breathing became even and heavy.
Su Chen gently removed her hand and secretly glanced at Arthur's face.
Was he really fast asleep?
Su Chen called softly, "Arthur, Arthur?"
Arthur's eyes remained closed, unmoving, with his eyelashes slightly upturned.
He looks just like an angel when he's asleep, Su Chen thought to herself.
Unlike when he opens his eyes, he's like a lion ready to rage at any moment, making people feel suffocated by his high pressure.
Su Chen chuckled softly. This guy hadn't expected to have such a peaceful time.
She raised her delicate hand, wanting to touch his eyelashes, but then lowered it halfway. Arthur was usually very wary, and even if he wasn't on guard with her, he was definitely a light sleeper; she dared not take the risk again.
She admired his sleeping face for a long time before straightening up, quietly opening the window, and preparing to jump out.
A gust of wind swept past her, followed by a tightening around her waist, and a man's uniquely gentle voice sounded in her ear: "Where...are you going?"
Su Chen froze, slowly turned around, and gave a dry laugh: "Haha, you weren't asleep?"
His eyes betrayed no emotion, and he said calmly, "If you weren't pretending to be asleep, how could I tell if you were lying to me?"
"I..." Su Chen gritted her teeth, "How could I possibly lie to you!"
"Stop pretending!" Arthur's suppressed anger finally erupted. He tightened his grip on her waist, watching her foot step out the window. "Then tell me, where are you going now?"
"I...I'll go and bring the deer back." Su Chen had never felt his anger so great, and her voice trembled with fear. "I'm afraid some wild animal will eat the deer, and then I won't be able to drink blood tomorrow."
“I’ll have someone hunt a few more for you tomorrow,” Arthur said sternly.
"Um..." What other reason could there be? I can't seem to find one.
Arthur tightened his grip on Su Chen's waist, his eyes burning with fury. "Su Chen, why? Why... do you want to leave me so badly?"
"It's always been just my wishful thinking. Do I not even have the slightest place in your heart?"
His voice trembled, filled with pain, and something seemed to be roaring deep in his eyes, making Su Chen feel suffocated.
A sharp pain spread across her chest without warning, and she closed her eyes slightly.
This pain felt just like the pain she felt when the Heart-Eating Gu flared up in the last world; it was so intense that she couldn't speak.
But why? Things from the previous world shouldn't be brought into this world, so why is her pain exactly the same as before?
"Why..." Arthur's voice lowered, and the light in his eyes disappeared.
Su Chen suddenly opened her eyes: "There's no reason. I've been using you all along. I not only want revenge, I also want to destroy the entire werewolf and vampire world!"
After saying that, she looked directly at Arthur and said, "And you, I have never loved you! You have not a single place in my heart!"
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face uncontrollably, and she choked out, "Please let me go."
"Let you go?" Arthur laughed. "Then who will let me go?!"
His eyes blazed with fury. "You're the only person I truly care about. How dare you come and go as you please!"
"Do you think I don't know you're stealing secrets? Or that I don't know that vampire named Tommy has been relying on you to find secrets?"
Su Chen looked at him in surprise. So, he knew all along...
She sighed and slowly closed her eyes: "Kill me if you want."
