"What kind of cat do you like?" Liang Xueting asked as soon as she pulled Su Chen into the car.
Su Chen thought for a moment and said, "Hmm... round-haired."
“Nonsense, what cat isn’t round-furred? Oh right, except for hairless cats.” Liang Xueting said thoughtfully, “Oh right, I remember you only like dogs.”
"No, it's just that I love dogs the most." Su Chen smiled, it seems the original owner of this body shared the same hobby.
"This shop mainly sells British Shorthair and Scottish Fold cats, as well as Chinese domestic cats and calico cats that I adopted from a rescue center," Liang Xueting introduced the breeds of the cats in the shop.
"Oh, does he have caramel macchiato?" Su Chen asked.
Liang Yuting thought for a moment and said, "Maybe, but aren't all the people who go there for the cats? Who cares what the coffee tastes like?"
Su Chen thought to herself: That's the truth. The selling point of a cat cafe is petting cats, but if the coffee isn't good, then it loses its original purpose as a coffee shop, right?
Before long, the car stopped in the downtown area.
"We're here." Liang Xueting patted the drowsy person next to her.
"Hmm." Su Chen staggered as she got out of the car with her.
Push open the glass door of the cat cafe, and there's another cage door inside before you reach the main room.
At the door, Su Chen was pulled by Liang Xueting to change into shoe covers. There was also professional alcohol-based hand sanitizer on the counter. Only after the two of them finished changing into shoe covers did they start ordering.
Liang Xueting ordered iced coffee with milk, and Su Chen ordered a caramel macchiato. Then the two of them found seats facing the sun.
"If you reach out and touch its nose, it will lick you," the shop owner said as he came over to serve coffee, noticing Su Chen staring blankly at the blue cat lazily lying on the windowsill.
Su Chen touched its nose as instructed, and sure enough, the blue cat stuck out its soft, barbed tongue and licked Su Chen's finger.
"Oh, it seems to like you quite a bit," Liang Xueting said sourly.
She pointed to the side and said, "Want to pet that angel cat over there?"
“Okay,” Su Chen replied.
The two spent the entire afternoon at the cat cafe until Liang Xueting's family started urging her to go home.
"Really, I'm not a child anymore, what's there to worry about?" Liang Xueting was getting annoyed by the nagging.
"Alright, let's go back." Su Chen smiled and gave her a push.
The driver first drove the car to Su Chen's house. Su Chen was about to open the door when she heard two honks behind her. She saw Liang Xueting's car window roll down, revealing her fair oval face.
"Su Chen, keep in touch, and don't forget me," Liang Xueting called out.
Su Chen smiled back, "Okay, bye-bye!"
The car sped away, kicking up a small gust of sand.
As soon as I entered, the auntie smiled and said, "You're back. Auntie will heat up your food."
"My parents went out again?" Su Chen asked.
Aunt: "Yes, the master and mistress are busy with work, Miss, please don't blame them. They are doing this to give you a better life."
Su Chen nodded. "I know."
The aunt smiled with satisfaction and went to the kitchen to get busy.
The night shift meal consisted of vegetable porridge, along with a few pickled cucumbers as side dishes.
Su Chen was completely speechless.
If you didn't know better, you'd think his family was really poor. How come there hasn't been a single piece of meat in the last few days?
Su Chen decisively took out her phone and ordered a home delivery service.
The aroma of egg tarts filled Su Chen with happiness.
Su Chen carried the paper bag containing food up the stairs, not forgetting to turn back and remind her, "Auntie, please don't tell my parents I ordered takeout. I'm going upstairs now."
"Go ahead, I'll keep it a secret." The aunt made a sealing gesture.
