Sheng Yu was taken aback when he saw her.
"Drinking? Mr. Sheng, won't you offer me a drink?" Su Chen smiled charmingly, and Sheng Yu was stunned to see her like this for the first time.
Sitting opposite Sheng Yu was his brother from the entertainment industry. Judging from the woman and Sheng Yu's eyes, there must be something going on between them. He was quite happy to watch the gossip.
The young master following behind Su Chen was taken aback, but still reached out and put his arm around Su Chen's waist.
Su Chen was startled by his audacity and felt inexplicably nauseous afterward.
Sheng Yu's face was as dark as ink. He stood up, flung the other man's hand away, and pulled Su Chen into his arms.
"I saw this first, what do you mean by that?" The man's hand had been slapped for no reason, and it seemed that everyone else was being nice to him, but this man's expression was also unpleasant.
"My girlfriend? How dare you lay a finger on her?" Sheng Yu's gaze was like that of a wolf with blood still dripping from its mouth, seeing another wolf trying to steal its meat.
That man probably wasn't easily intimidated; seeing Sheng Yu's fierce demeanor, he muttered something and left.
Sheng Yu's expression didn't improve much as he watched him leave. He didn't even glance at Su Chen before sitting back down in his original seat.
Su Chen got angry at his attitude and was about to leave without thinking, but her dress was pulled back by the man sitting in the booth.
Su Chen grabbed his skirt and glared at him, "Let go!"
Sheng Yu tightened his grip even more. "I'm letting go. Where do you think you're going?"
Su Chen said angrily, "I can go wherever I want, anyway you don't care about me."
Sheng Yu was puzzled by her words. "When did I ever ignore you?"
"I called you a few times, did you answer?" Su Chen really admired his skill in playing dumb.
Unexpectedly, the man sitting opposite Sheng Yu spoke up, "Miss, Sheng Yu recently participated in a reality show, and you can't use your phone on a reality show. He finally finished filming and I intercepted him and brought him to the bar, so he hasn't had a chance to check his phone yet. It's my fault too."
Su Chen was taken aback, not expecting there to be such a reason.
Sheng Yu frowned and took out his phone, only to see dozens of missed calls.
Su Chen's anger subsided somewhat, but she still wasn't in a good mood looking at the man's sour face.
He then said, "I'm going home now."
"I'll see you off." Sheng Yu put on his clothes before Su Chen could speak.
He didn't know what Su Chen was going to say, but he knew that what came out of that little mouth was definitely not what he wanted to hear.
They drove in silence. As Su Chen watched the streetlights flash by outside the car window, a strange pang of sadness welled up in her heart.
"Let's get married as soon as possible," Sheng Yu suddenly said.
Su Chen looked at him in surprise, only to see him staring straight ahead without even glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.
"Why?"
Sheng Yu frowned and said, "If we don't get married soon, you might just run away."
Su Chen didn't understand. Where could she possibly run off to? She couldn't possibly run away from all these worlds.
Su Chen neither responded, neither agreed nor refused, her expression remaining indifferent. Neither of them spoke again until Su Chen got out of the car.
Two days later, Sheng Yu's mother suddenly came to their house to propose marriage. Both families were overjoyed and quickly made the arrangements. Su Chen's mother asked her what she thought about the wedding. Su Chen only said that she would invite her family to have a meal and did not want to invite anyone else.
After all, both of them are going to be in the entertainment industry, so keeping their marriage a secret would be beneficial for both of them.
Su Chen said this, but deep down she was secretly hoping for something.
I really don't know what Sheng Yu was thinking. How could he expect me to marry him without even proposing?
