Chapter 326 His Majesty is Not My Type (Chapter 31)

Jun Mochen punished those who deserved punishment and exiled those who deserved exile, but he knew that the others who seemed to be relatively well-behaved had actually made their own plans in private.

Jun Mochen was tormented by political affairs during the day and by nightmares at night.

He dreamt that Su Chen died before his eyes, and that he had lived alone for many years, carrying his memories. The dream felt very real, but whenever he tried to explore it further, a white mist would appear in his mind and block him out.

Jun Mochen knew that his memories were more than that. When he first met Su Chen, he felt that they might have experienced a hundred years. His soul was stirred the moment he saw her, and his heart beat more vigorously.

He felt inexplicably uneasy about everything that had happened recently, and for some reason, he had a feeling that Su Chen was about to leave him again.

Why did he say "again"? It was as if this woman had run away from him countless times.

Jun Mochen would often sit up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat, and look around at everything. The palace was luxurious, but it made him feel uncomfortable in the slightest.

The floor tiles were covered with a subfloor, yet he still felt icy cold all over.

Only when he stayed at the Jade Feather Palace and truly held Su Chen in his arms could the panic in his heart be temporarily relieved.

When Su Chen woke up in the middle of the night, she saw a dark figure standing by her bed. Thinking she had encountered a ghost, she immediately screamed, but the dark figure leaned down and covered her mouth.

"It's me."

"Jun Mochen?" Su Chen was so frightened that she stopped calling him "Your Majesty".

Jun Mochen, however, was not angry and sat down to hug her.

Hearing the noise, Mumu outside quickly knocked on the door, "What's wrong, Your Highness?"

Su Chen patted her chest. "It's nothing, just a nightmare."

Upon hearing this, Mumu went back to sleep on the couch.

"What are you doing here in the middle of the night? Just to scare me?" Su Chen said irritably.

"Don't talk, let me hug you." Jun Mochen buried his head in Su Chen's neck.

Su Chen was truly baffled but dared not push him away, so she could only let him hold her like that.

"Did Your Majesty have a nightmare?" Su Chen gently patted his back.

"Hmm." His voice was muffled.

Su Chen was surprised that Jun Mochen would admit it so readily, so she coaxed him like a child, saying, "Those are all fake, Your Majesty shouldn't believe them."

“No…” Jun Mochen still felt a lingering fear when he recalled it, “Chen’er, you said you wouldn’t leave me.”

Su Chen was about to say how many times she had said it, but sensing his vulnerability, she couldn't say the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

"I will not leave you." At least I will stay with you in this world until the end.

Su Chen made up her mind that she must keep the villainous big boss alive until he dies of old age.

...

Time flew by, and Jun Moyao finally drove back the enemy forces, then led her troops in a grand procession toward the imperial city.

Most towns and cities allowed him to pass without him losing a single soldier, and the people lined the streets to welcome him wherever he went.

Jun Mochen knew that he could not keep the throne, but as a seasoned villain and a man who regarded the throne as his life, he could not hand over the country to others.

He would do everything in his power to ensure that his beloved younger brother suffered some loss.

The people in the palace lived in constant fear, day and night, terrified that the six princes would massacre the entire palace.

Jun Mochen also gathered the Imperial Guards and all his elite soldiers, intending to fight Jun Moyao to the death tomorrow.

But on this very day, Ning Luo found Su Chen. She appeared before Su Chen disguised as a little eunuch.

Before she could speak, Su Chen asked, "You've come here to ask me to persuade His Majesty?"
