Sheng Yu was in a bad mood after reading her blog post, so he made her do some things that made her happy.
Su Chen's integrity has long been shattered to pieces, and she has been having some fun these days.
Sheng Yu saw her eyes squinting with satisfaction, captured her lips and kissed her, then pulled her into his arms.
"How about I cancel?" he whispered in Su Chen's ear.
The warm, moist breath brushed against her ear, causing Su Chen to shudder. However, upon hearing his words, her brows furrowed involuntarily, "You're retiring from the entertainment industry?"
"Mmm," Sheng Yu responded, and couldn't help but kiss her rosy cheeks again.
"Don't you think it's a pity?" Su Chen dodged him. "With your current strength, you might become an international movie star in the future."
Sheng Yu was displeased with her earlier evasion, so he stretched out his long arm and pulled her into his arms again. "They're just empty titles, why care so much?"
Su Chen slapped away his unruly hand, "I'm still concerned about your future salary."
Sheng Yu sighed as he looked at his hand that Su Chen had slapped away, and said, "I can still support you even if I retire from the entertainment industry."
Su Chen snorted. Of course, she knew he could support her. After all, even a starved camel is bigger than a horse. The savings he had accumulated over the years were enough to live comfortably for the rest of his life. Besides, money can make money, and the more money you have, the more opportunities you have to make money.
"Really? You don't believe me?" Sheng Yu's voice turned cold. It felt really bad to be looked down upon by his wife.
Sensing his anger, Su Chen immediately backed down and said, "I believe you, I believe you."
If you don't tell her she believes you, her back will be ruined tomorrow.
Sheng Yu's expression finally softened a bit. He placed a kiss on her forehead before obediently closing his eyes and falling asleep.
Su Chen couldn't sleep in his arms. She wasn't thinking about anything, but the moonlight shining through the window onto her face kept her awake.
Looking at the open door, a nameless panic swept over Su Chen.
The fear seemed to tremble from the depths of one's soul, causing the body to shake involuntarily, until the teeth chattered.
Su Chen didn't know what was wrong with her. She only knew that she had been terrified of the darkness since she was a child, but now it was getting worse and worse.
It's gotten to the point that I now feel like there's some monstrous beast lurking in the darkness, ready to pounce and tear me apart if I'm not careful.
Sheng Yu woke up and hugged her from behind, his lazy voice escaping his throat, "What's wrong? Are you cold?"
Su Chen's teeth were chattering so badly that she couldn't speak.
Sheng Yu quickly turned her body so she was facing him. Looking at her pale face and trembling body, he asked in a gentle tone, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Su Chen couldn't say anything, she just instinctively hugged him.
Sheng Yu was very worried, but she wouldn't say anything, so he could only frown and hold her tightly.
Su Chen absorbed his warmth and breath in his arms, and gradually stopped trembling.
"Achen, what's wrong?" Sheng Yu kissed the top of her head and asked softly.
"It seems like there are monsters in the dark places." Su Chen's small hands unconsciously gripped the hem of Sheng Yu's clothes.
"A monster?" Sheng Yu's expression turned serious, and he closed his eyes to sense it through his mind.
When he opened his eyes again, he looked down at her and said, "There are no monsters."
“I know,” Su Chen gritted her teeth, “but I’m just scared, scared to the core.”
Sheng Yu could see that she was indeed very scared. He remembered that she was afraid to walk alone at night because she was afraid of the dark. He had thought it was just because she was a delicate girl, but it seemed that it wasn't.
"What happened to you in your childhood that left a shadow on your memory?"
