A hundred years later, Su Chen became pregnant again.
Jin Yu was very unhappy; her face was as cold as an ice cube.
"Okay, don't be angry." Su Chen pinched his sleeve and shook it.
Even so, Jin Yu's expression did not soften. Instead, she got up and went to Mengshan behind the Demon Cave.
In the misty mountains, beneath a grove of catalpa trees, a little child dressed in a black cross-collar ruqun (a type of traditional Chinese dress) is trying to manipulate objects with his head bowed.
The child's hair on the upper half of his head was tied up with a white jade crown, while the rest of his hair was loose over his shoulders. His face was fair with a rosy glow, and his little nose was covered with beads of sweat.
"Close your eyes and regulate your breathing." A clear, cold voice came from behind the child. The person who came was Jin Yu.
"Ah! Daddy!" The child ran happily to the man.
Jin Yu smiled slightly and gently stroked the child's soft hair.
"Isn't Daddy with Mommy? Why is he here? Is he here to check on my training results?" the child asked, raising his rosy cheeks.
Jin Yu's expression darkened slightly.
This child was none other than Jin Yuechen, who was one hundred years old. For some reason, after a hundred years, he only grew to look like a five-year-old child in the human world.
Having spent years in the den of demons, his mind had become as simple as that of a five-year-old child.
Even so, his IQ and EQ are at an adult level.
Jin Yuechen could tell what was going on just by looking at her father's pale face.
"Daddy, did you and Mommy have another fight?"
"No," Jin Yuechen denied.
"Then why is Daddy unhappy?" Jin Yuechen was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Jin Yu knew that this kid was clever and mischievous and couldn't be fooled, so she had no choice but to tell him the truth: "Your mother is probably going to give you a younger brother or sister."
Jin Yuechen's clear black and white eyes widened. "Isn't this a joyous occasion?"
Jin Yu: "Yes and no."
Jin Yuechen opened her eyes wide and said, "My mother told me that things can only be either yes or no, there are no other options."
Jin Yu: "Did your mother tell you that there are not only good people and bad people in this world, but also people in between?"
Jin Yuechen shook her head. "Aren't there good and bad people in the world? How can there be anyone in the middle?"
“But everyone is in the middle.” Jin Yu patted his little head again.
"I don't know... The characters in the comics are all either black or white." Jin Yuechen scratched his head in confusion.
Jin Yu changed the subject, saying, "Alright, let me see how well you've improved your object manipulation skills."
Kids are really easy to talk to; they were incredibly excited when they heard their dad wanted to see the results of their magic training.
He immediately assumed a fighting stance and used his internal spiritual energy to control the palm-sized catalpa leaves falling from the forest.
Perhaps because his father was watching, he actually managed to control dozens of leaves, which flew around his fingertips.
"Great, it's really good." Jin Yu praised without hesitation.
Jin Yuechen was very happy to be praised by his father, but when he remembered what his mother had said, his face immediately fell.
Jin Yuechen: "But I heard my mother say that my father is already able to fly on a sword at my age."
Jin Yu smiled; Su Chen was bragging behind her back again.
"Your mother is talking nonsense. We hadn't even met when Daddy was a hundred years old."
Jin Yuechen: "I see... Did Father see Mother when she turned one hundred?"
"This..." Jin Yu glanced at her mischievous son, who had almost tricked her into revealing information.
