Well, we've gone back again.
These people were so engrossed in their discussion that they didn't even notice the Emei daggers flying from behind them.
In a short while, a group of people lay dead around Hu Ningcai, and all of them had one thing in common: each of them had an Emei dagger stuck in the back of their neck.
Su Chen immediately sensed something was wrong and anxiously scanned the surroundings, but saw no sign of the yamen officials.
Could it be... that something went wrong with Fu Zi and Shan Er?
As Su Chen was thinking, she instinctively saw a dark shadow flash by and she crawled away.
Looking back, she saw an Emei dagger stuck in a crack in the stone bricks behind her, trembling slightly from the wind brought by her internal energy.
Su Chen immediately broke out in a cold sweat and fell to the ground.
He thought to himself: Holy crap? Is she serious?
"System, is it okay if I die without a trace? It won't affect my points, right?"
The system remained silent for a moment. Su Chen gritted her teeth and decisively decided to ignore Wuhen for now. Her primary task was to hold out until the government troops arrived, wipe out Hu Ningcai and this band of bandits, and obtain the points!
But... someone has to keep her alive!
At this moment, Hu Ningcai appeared in front of her with strange steps.
With a sinister laugh, his voice was full of venom, "Young mistress, you're too restless." After saying that, he raised the Emei dagger and stabbed it towards her heart.
Su Chen's leg was broken and she couldn't move. She could only close her eyes and wait for death, gritting her teeth as the excruciating pain in her bones and joints came.
The expected pain didn't come at all; instead, she felt someone hug her.
Su Chen opened her eyes in shock, only to see Qian Duo's magnified, deathly pale face appear before her, with blood gushing from his mouth, bright red and glaring!
"When did you get here?!" Su Chen's eyes widened in disbelief.
Qian Duosheng seemed oblivious to the pain, giving her a slight smile that resembled the warm sunshine breaking through the ice in early spring.
He gently patted Su Chen's back and whispered in her ear, "Don't be afraid... I'm here..." His head sank, and he closed his eyes, resting on Su Chen's shoulder.
Su Chen didn't know what was wrong with her. She just felt like she couldn't breathe and her chest hurt. She reached out and touched her cheek, and when she looked up, she saw a pool of water.
She cried?
Hu Ningcai, standing to the side, trembled as she withdrew her hand. "It wasn't me... I didn't mean to kill you... Qian Duo..." Her expression was somewhat frantic as she tried to pull Qian Duo up.
Su Chen, emboldened by who-knows-where, raised her hand and slapped it away, shouting, "Dirty!"
Just as Hu Ningcai was about to lash out, a cloud of dust suddenly rose, and a group of people came from the north. The leader sat upright on a tall horse and ordered, "Surround them all! Take them to the authorities!"
"Yes!" they answered in unison, and immediately the fighting broke out everywhere. The bandits of the Red Eyebrows were surrounded. For some reason, Hu Ningcai did not use his lightness skill and did not even struggle. He was tied up and taken away by the people from the yamen.
Su Chen didn't notice any of this; she just tilted her head and stared intently at the back of Qian Duo's head.
[Ding dong: Congratulations, host, for completing the side quest "Take Down That Bandit Gang". You have gained 100 experience points.]
[Should the host evacuate immediately?]
"He's dead?"
[He's dead.]
Su Chen wiped her face with her sleeve. "Let's go."
[Does the host want to evacuate?]
"Mmm." Su Chen closed her eyes.
Countdown: Three, two, one...
When she opened her eyes again, she was in the endless, white space she knew best.
[Does the host want to rest?]
