“You…” Su Chen looked up at him, but her words caught in her throat.
Wuming looked unwell, his body was trembling, and he stared at him intently.
Su Chen lowered her eyes and didn't look at him. "Take me home."
“Okay.” Wuming replied, taking her hand.
Su Chen did not refuse and let him lead her out of the bar.
The two remained silent throughout the journey. When they arrived at a black Maybach S680, Wuming opened the passenger door and waited for Su Chen to get in before taking the driver's seat.
However, he didn't start driving immediately. Instead, he turned around and kissed Su Chen's lips.
Things happened so fast, like a tornado, that Su Chen didn't even have time to react. She even forgot to raise her hand to push him away, and just stared blankly at the magnified handsome face with wide eyes.
"Silly girl, close your eyes." Wuming opened his eyes a crack and couldn't help but laugh when he saw how wide they were open.
Su Chen suddenly woke up and pushed him away, turning her face to the right window of the car without saying a word.
Wuming chuckled softly, then rubbed his forehead with his left hand. It seemed... things had gotten out of control.
He looked ahead and started the car.
Su Chen had previously mentioned her neighborhood name at the bar, and Wu Ming turned on the navigation.
The only sound in the car was the mechanical female voice of the navigation system; neither of them spoke.
They arrived at Su Chen's house shortly afterward.
"I'm leaving." Su Chen lowered her head, not daring to look at him, and quickly said, "Thank you for today."
Then he quickly got off the bus.
Wuming rolled down the car window and shouted, "Don't forget to log on!"
Su Chen didn't answer and quickly opened the door.
Why are you back so late?
As soon as she entered, she saw the original owner's mother's face. Before Su Chen could answer, she asked, "Who was the man who brought you back just now?"
Su Chen knew she absolutely couldn't let her mother know what had just happened, so she had to change her story.
"I went to a bar with my friends and ran into a friend who gave me a ride home." Su Chen chose a highly credible explanation.
"You think you can fool your mother?" the original owner's mother said, frowning.
Su Chen repeated, "Really."
"Okay, even if it's true, who was that guy just now? The friend you mentioned? Older than you, right? Don't say he's a senior, he couldn't possibly be only a year or two older than you." It seemed like the original owner's mother was determined to get to the bottom of things today.
"A friend is a friend, after all. He's a nice guy and even gave me a ride," Su Chen could only praise Wuming.
The original owner's mother could tell that she didn't want to talk. She knew her daughter well; if she didn't want to talk, she couldn't get a single useful word out of her.
"Alright, don't come home so late in the future." Her mother seemed to want to get rid of Su Chen from standing in front of her. "Go upstairs, wash up, and go to bed. Don't stay up so late."
Su Chen smiled and agreed, but the smile disappeared from her face as soon as she closed the door.
What was the deal with the original owner's former cronies? Why did they deliberately lock her in a room with a man?
Su Chen knew that although the original owner seemed to be unrestrained, she had never done anything out of line, not even holding hands with a boy. She was very innocent.
That friend clearly knew what kind of person the original owner was, so why did he lock her in a room with a man today?
Do you want to ruin her?
Why?
Searching through the original owner's memories, she couldn't find any way that the original owner had offended this person.
With an incredibly heavy heart, Su Chen washed up and lay in bed, where she experienced an unprecedented bout of insomnia.
I was thinking about what happened today, but then I remembered the nameless man's eyes, the nameless man's... kiss.
