Gray and dead silent.
This was Jing Xia’s first feeling when he was pushed into the warehouse.
The outward spiritual power detected a complex breath of life. Creatures of different races were locked in cages and some were placed in jars.
There were the whimpers of injured cubs, the low moans of dying people, and the sobs of despair.
These sounds were transmitted into the cage through the black cloth. The auction staff seemed to be very confident in the quality of the cage, and as if they wanted to see the horror on Jing Xia's face, they pulled off the black cloth covering the cage.
The disgusting face that even the mask couldn't hide suddenly came to Jing Xia's cage and said, "Hey, kid!"
Jing Xia lifted her face from her arms, revealing her inky starry eyes.
The other party was a little surprised at the calmness in Jing Xia's eyes, and then became very dissatisfied. He reached into the cage and wanted to pinch Jing Xia's fair cheek.
"What are you looking at? Someone like you will either end up as a forbidden delicacy or a test subject."
Jing Xia sighed, raised his hand, grabbed the other person's hand that had reached into the cage, and gently pulled it upwards.
“You guys…”
The crisp sound of bones breaking was accompanied by painful whimpers.
The moment Jing Xia attacked, he used his mental power to block the opponent's voice.
Then, in the other person's horrified eyes, he easily pried open the iron cage, crawled out, and looked down at the person on the ground who was trying to escape.
He murmured softly, "As much as I want to burn you to ashes right here, the Empire still has laws."
The black-haired boy had an expressionless face, his delicate features were like an angel, but his movements were like a devil: he gently raised his foot and crushed the opponent's hands and feet bit by bit, causing him to faint in pain.
After confirming that the other party was half dead, Jing Xia looked up and around.
In the surrounding cages, the creatures that saw Jing Xia's actions clearly exuded a stronger aura of fear and shrank away from him.
"Tsk, this is a bit difficult."
There were too many creatures in the warehouse, and the auras were too mixed, so he couldn't quite tell where Lan Huaili's people were.
Moreover, Jing Xia turned his head to look at a small iron cage next to his cage. There was a dying little girl in it. The girl's limbs were sewn with plush animal claws, and the hair on them was stained with blood. The weak breathing sound showed that she was only able to stay alive by relying on the flashing instrument on her chest.
After retracting his gaze, Jing Xia walked slowly into the depths of the warehouse without making any movements.
Living things cannot be stored in his space, so if he wants to save these lives, he has to find another way.
The further they went in, the heavier Jing Xia's expression became. He didn't know how many lives these pirates had killed.
Suddenly, he felt a familiar breath, and looked up at a small cage hanging above him, and met the eyes of the creature inside.
The big blue-green bird with beautiful tail feathers huddled in a small iron cage with a wronged look on its face. It blinked its big watery eyes and looked down at Jing Xia from the cage.
After a brief silence, Big Bird Nuonuo said, "Hi?"
A vein popped out on Jing Xia's forehead, and his aura instantly turned into a furious one of disappointment.
What the hell? When did you get here? Why is the mighty Phoenix still imprisoned here?!
The blue-green phoenix Feng Zhuo was frightened by Jing Xia's aura and shrank back into the cage with a wronged look on its face.
I haven't seen Xiao Xia Xia for a few days. Why is she so irritable?
Jing Xia stood under the cage, with his arms folded, looking at Feng Zhuo who was locked up in the cage in his original form.
I really can't understand why the phoenix, the ruler of the sky, would be locked in a cage and almost auctioned off?
It seems that what he thought before was wrong. It must be from the gap between the Vidi Star Pass and them. They all have a bad fate!
"Why are you here?"
Feng Zhuo moved closer to the cage and said, "I'm here to find something."
Jing Xia frowned: "Looking for something in the black market?"
"Ahem, it's just an unexpected surprise."
Feng Zhuo flapped his wings and cut the bars of the iron cage that held him in half. He flew out and landed on Jing Xia's shoulder, then lowered his head to tidy up his feathers.
"Come down, it's so heavy. And where's Uncle Jue? Isn't he with you?"
Jing Xia shook the phoenix on his shoulder and let it transform into a human form and walk on its own.
He still has people to save, and with Feng Zhuo's help it might be easier.
Phoenix flapped its wings and landed on the ground, tilting its head. "Ajue is here too."
"I'm here." A low voice came from Feng Zhuo, causing Jing Xia to turn his head.
A white figure slowly emerged from the feathers around Feng Zhuo's neck. A small snake with red stripes on a white background poked its head out from among the blue-green feathers and uttered a sound like an adult.
"We were near here when we came from the crack."
Feng Zhuo, in his original form, hopped on the ground and followed Jing Xia, chattering away, "At the time, a starship passed by and saw me in my original form and wanted to capture me. I saw that those people were guilty of serious crimes, so I discussed with A Jue to use their own tactics against them and see what they were really up to."
The little white snake that stuck its head out was shaken up and down by Feng Zhuo's jumping movements, and the snake's body became a wavy line, like a fluttering scarf hanging on the bird's neck.
Bai Jue: ...
"Xiao Zhuo, human form."
“Ahhh!”
Feng Zhuo obediently transformed into a young man in green clothes and followed Jing Xia with a smile.
"Come to think of it, why are you here too? Are you here to save these creatures as well? You're indeed my good friend, you share the same idea as me!"
The clear voice echoed in the warehouse, and the lingering sound lasted for a long time.
Jing Xia: ...
This guy is still so talkative, even better than Milje.
