This book is said to be my first one-woman novel, but it's not really true. My debut work many years ago had a one-woman protagonist. However, that book is very poisonous if you look at it from today's perspective. It has all the poisonous points like the deadly female supporting role. It's unreadable if you read it now.
So this is indeed my first attempt at a book with a single female protagonist, and I was quite nervous.
Many people feel that the opening chapter is like an autobiography, but it is not.
Because this opening, until the part where Zhang Qiren was reported and returned home, was written at the end of 2017, which was four years ago.
At that time, I was asked by another website to write a "realistic short story". Yes, this opening was originally intended to be the beginning of a short story, and it was written in a realistic style, with materials collected from my surroundings. But later, because the website changed its mind, this opening was shelved.
Two months ago, I was looking through my early drafts and suddenly thought that this opening was pretty good. Instead of writing about realism, it seems quite interesting to change it into a long online article.
Since he had a professional background as a writer, he suddenly had an idea to conceive a story in which a heroine ran out of a book, and Qiu Wuji made her debut - she was not included in the original realistic opening.
Later I found out that this idea had actually been written about by other writers a long time ago. Even Xia Hua had written about it, but I had never read it... What a shame.
