Chapter 13 The wife is going to kill someone!

Chapter 13 The wife is going to kill someone!

Shen Jiashi placed the newspaper in front of his mother and pointed to one of the pages: "Take a look first, and you'll probably understand why Dad got so angry."

These newspapers are all from the Pingcheng Daily. Ever since our daughter went to Pingcheng, my husband has subscribed to this newspaper for the family so that he can keep up with the situation there.

After all, the world is in chaos, and how can I really feel at ease leaving my daughter out there?

Shen's mother was also the daughter of a scholarly family, so she naturally understood the meaning of these poems and also saw the poet's name.

"Is Kang Wenbai professing his love to his younger sister?"

Mrs. Shen gritted her teeth: "What's wrong with this little Chi?"

Making such a big fuss is a disgrace to the Lu family; no wonder her husband was so angry.

"Your little sister is really something. She's already gotten what she wanted, can't she be a little more discreet? Does she really not want our family anymore?" Mrs. Shen took out her handkerchief to wipe away her tears.

"Last time you said she had no money to spend and thought she was sensible, but I think she hasn't suffered enough. You even published it in the newspaper. What are you trying to do? Is it something to be proud of?"

She cursed the Kang family in her heart for their lack of manners, saying that their son had corrupted her daughter.

"Why don't you give her a call and talk to her, ask her to apologize to Dad? There are only a few days left until the New Year, it would be good for her to come home for the New Year soon."

Mrs. Shen, however, was not so optimistic: "Your younger sister has the same temper as your father, stubborn to the end. Once she's made up her mind, she won't back down. It's better to have your father admit his mistake than to have her do it."

She knew that her daughter's chances of coming home for the Chinese New Year were slim. After this incident, the family was too ashamed to go back to their hometown, since they all lived in the same place and were relatives on both sides.

What kind of mess is this?!

Mrs. Shen complained that her daughter had handled the matter terribly, and Shen Rong was also extremely annoyed.

Kang Wenbai was like an idiot who couldn't understand human speech, only able to move himself. Each poem he wrote was more sincere and touching than the last, and he still felt that this was not enough. So he ordered fresh flowers to be delivered to him every day, all of them bright red roses, which made her want to vomit.

Goodness, he's even brought on my morning sickness!

Shen Rong was so angry she wanted to hire an assassin to kill him.

This whole ordeal has only enhanced his reputation for being a devoted lover; what utter nonsense!

Only when Shen Rong's injured world was achieved, her relationship with Lu Lin returned to square one, or even worse. Ever since the incident in the newspapers, he has not appeared. When she calls him, he is cold and distant. He has even started to avoid suspicion, and some things have to be relayed by Zhang Ma.

Lu Lin must hate himself to death; he must feel like he's been tricked!

“Madam, Mr. Kang has sent flowers again.” Gui Chun looked troubled, and under Shen Rong’s murderous gaze, she added, “He came in person.”

Great! It's delivered right to my door.

Shen Rong searched for suitable tools in the house, but after searching for a long time without finding anything suitable, she rushed into the kitchen, grabbed a cleaver, and stormed towards the door.

The aura was so powerful it seemed like they were going to kill someone. Gui Chun snapped out of her daze and frantically called for Zhang Ma.

"Oh no, Zhang Ma! Madam is going to kill someone!"

Kang Wenbai heard Shen Rong's footsteps, straightened his tie, and handed over the flowers the moment the door opened. A flash of silver light, and the blood-red flowers rolled all over the ground.

Their heads were all severed, and Kang Wenbai's face turned deathly pale as the blade was only centimeters from his nose.

"Arong, what are you doing?" His voice trembled.

Shen Rong sneered, "I've noticed you seem to be unable to understand human language, so I'll give you something you can understand. You really are disgusting to me. I take back what I said last time; we can't even be friends anymore." Shen Rong approached step by step with the blade in hand, and Kang Wenbai's back was already against the corner of the wall.

"Arong, don't be like this. Put the knife down, don't hurt anyone. Let's talk this out. If I did something wrong, tell me, and I'll change!"

Shen Rong scoffed: "Change? Change what? Didn't I tell you not to bother me? Didn't I tell you not to write that lousy poem? I don't buy it, did you hear me?"

"You always manage to ruin things at crucial moments. Is there something wrong with your birth chart? Were you born specifically to bring me bad luck?!"

Her retort about the poem was more painful for Kang Wenbai than a real knife wound.

Her gaze was terrifyingly cold, as if she were looking at an enemy. Kang Wenbai felt as if someone had ripped his heart out, leaving it empty. Only now did he realize that Shen Rong truly no longer loved him. Her eyes were filled with disgust, and she no longer appreciated those poems.

Kang Wenbai shook his head: "You are not my Arong, you are not!"

Seeing the change in his expression, Shen Rong quietly took a few steps back: "You should leave. We're really not a good match. Go find someone who understands you and appreciates you. Don't waste your time on me."

Kang Wenbai stared blankly at her, his gaze unfocused. "Why, why did things suddenly change?" He looked at the kitchen knife in her hand, a hint of madness in his eyes.

"I am willing to give my life to commemorate our love!"

"Damn it!" Shen Rong was so scared that she quickly hid the kitchen knife behind her back.

No way, did you scare him crazy?

"Calm down, I'm going back now!"

She turned to run, but Kang Wenbai chased after her, grabbed her arm, and tried to snatch the knife.

Shen Rong screamed in fright. Zhang Ma and Gui Chun rushed over and saw the two fighting over the kitchen knife. They thought the madam was really going to kill someone, so they didn't dare to step forward and screamed with their eyes closed.

With a muffled groan, the knife in Shen Rong's hand was snatched away, and she screamed.

"Shut up, you're making a racket!"

That sound...

She half-opened her eyes and saw that Kang Wenbai was already lying on the ground.

Lu Lin's face was so dark it could drip water, and he immediately started to mock and ridicule: "What kind of new romantic gesture is this? You've even started using knives. You're truly both scholarly and martial. You can play new tricks all you want, but don't forget to watch your stomachs."

He gave her a cold glance.

"Are you going to give me 100,000 yuan?"

Did he just drink a bottle of poison? His mouth is so venomous.

Shen Rong knew he might be angry, but she didn't expect him to be this angry. She rolled her eyes and pretended to have a stomachache. Zhang Ma and Gui Chun quickly stepped forward to help her.

Shen Rong refused to cooperate and tried to sit on the ground. Lu Linming knew she was faking it, but seeing Zhang Ma's reproachful look, he really couldn't control her.

His lips twitched, he took a deep breath, and went forward to pick the person up and carry them into the house.

Shen Rong breathed a sigh of relief.

Gui Chun pointed at Mr. Kang lying on the ground and whispered to Zhang Ma, "What should we do?"

Aunt Zhang snorted: "Never mind him, we can't move it, the master will handle it."

Lu Lin tossed Shen Rong onto the sofa and said coldly, "Call your friends to come pick him up. Be careful, or tomorrow's front page headline will be 'Talented man freezes to death outside the door of his muse,' causing a sensation throughout the city."

Shen Rong looked embarrassed: "I can explain it, but it's not what you think."

Lu Lin crossed his legs and sneered, "I don't want to hear it."

Do men really act this unreasonably? Should she go over and shake his shoulder, insisting on explaining?

Shen Rong chuckled.

Lu Lin was momentarily stunned, wondering what was so funny.

Shen Rong instructed Gui Chun to make a phone call; she needed to find an opportunity to coax Lu Lin!

She shifted her position closer to him and asked, "Why did you come over? Aren't you busy today?"

She looked every bit the considerate and virtuous wife.

Lu Lin sneered: "Zhang Ma called me and said you were going to kill someone, so I came here specifically to see it for myself."

Shen Rong immediately put on a wronged face, looking like she was about to cry. She pulled out a handkerchief from somewhere and pretended to wipe away non-existent tears.

“That Kang Wenbai is a lunatic. He keeps bothering me. It’s all my fault. You’ve been neglecting me before, so I wanted to use him to spite you. Even though I knew he misunderstood, he still wouldn’t let go. And about the newspaper thing, I had no idea. I called him and told him, but he wouldn’t listen. I don’t know if he’s mentally ill. It’s all your fault. If you were home, I wouldn’t have had to go out with a knife to chase him away.”

Lu Lin was almost laughing in anger. What eloquence! After all that, he was the one in the wrong.

Shen Rong bit her lip and timidly tugged at his sleeve: "Can you move back? I'm scared. I don't know if he'll come looking for me again. If you see him, he might kill someone."

It seems she was the one who started the fight; she's really good at playing the victim.

"You'll have Aunt Zhang and the others with you."

Shen Rong's eyes darted around quickly: "The New Year is coming soon, and Zhang Ma and Gui Chun are going back to their hometown for the New Year."

Zhang Ma came out and overheard this. She was a little stunned. How come she didn't know?

However, seeing his wife's pleading eyes, he understood what was going on. Under his husband's piercing gaze, he forced a nod and said, "Yes, I was just about to ask for leave from you. I haven't been back for three years. The little rascal at home has grown up, and my mother-in-law is not feeling well. I was just about to go back to see her."

He looked at Guichun. What a coincidence, both of them were asking for leave.

For live-in maids like them, one of them definitely needs to stay behind for the Lunar New Year.

Gui Chun was a little afraid of her husband, but Zhang Ma kept pinching her back, so she could only nod frantically: "Me too."

What do you mean by "what do you mean by that?"

Zhang Ma sucking in the cold air, she's so stupid.

Fortunately, the man didn't pursue the matter, but just frowned and said, "I'll find you another maid."

He promised to go back home for the Chinese New Year, but he'll be going to Bincheng after the holiday, so he probably won't have time to go back to his hometown for a while.

Shen Rong shook her head: "I don't want to. I don't like strangers. Besides, we already have Zhang Ma and Gui Chun. We don't need to add any more people. It's not good to just hire them for a few days."

Lu Lin looked at her, his eyes filled with complex emotions: "Then what do you suggest we do?"

Shen Rong raised an eyebrow: "Isn't there you? You move back, and since you all have a holiday for the New Year, it'll be a good opportunity for you to fulfill your responsibilities as a father."

She puffed out her flat stomach, exuding an aura of power that commanded the princes like an emperor!
