Chapter 53, Chapter 57: The Poor Little Bird's Heart-to-Heart Talk

Chapter 53, Chapter 57: The Poor Little Bird's Heart-to-Heart Talk

The air is filled with fragrance.

Satisfied and lazy.

They moved from the messy carpet to a clean, soft bed in the bedroom.

Vison leaned against the headboard, with Feppos resting his head on his lap.

The captivating bone wings were retracted inside.

The atmosphere was just right.

Soft and fluffy.

Fipos, whose face was still slightly pale from recovering from a serious illness, was now flushed with a deep, indelible red after being nourished by Vincent's mental energy and the intense exercise he had just undergone.

He closed his eyes, trying to catch his breath.

Vison stared intently at him, casually stroking his hair.

She even had the leisure to braid a few thin braids for him.

This is the perfect moment to say something.

“Say something,” Vison said softly.

"What?" Fipos didn't react for a moment.

What were you thinking at the time?

Vison didn't say it explicitly, but Fipos knew he was asking about his sudden departure.

Fipold paused for a moment, then turned to meet Vinson's eyes, sighed, and said calmly, as if stating a fact: "I was destined to die young, Vinson."

"I knew from a very early age that my final destination would be to die on the battlefield."

Vison frowned when he heard him say such things with a calm expression, but Feppos chuckled.

"Even though I know you don't want to hear it, that's really what I've always thought."

“At first, I thought I would stay by your side as long as you wanted me. But after receiving the report, I changed my mind.” Fipos recounted his journey of thought.

"If you suffer a backlash, get injured, or even have your life endangered because of comforting me, since I'm a short-lived ghost destined to die anyway, then I won't accept it." As if that wasn't enough, she added firmly, "I disagree."

"Ha." Vinson laughed in exasperation. "So you're going to leave me? And with such a lame excuse?"

"I probably want to leave something in your heart, whether it's disgust or hatred, I'm willing to do it all."

"Wouldn't it be better to leave behind love?"

Vison placed a kiss on his forehead, incredibly gentle, almost seductive, yet also an involuntary expression of his true feelings.

Like being brushed by soft spring petals, even your heart softens.

Fipos admitted that he had been bewitched.

He held Vincent's hand, feeling as if the whole world had brightened up because of that tender kiss.

Phibes: "I don't want you to be sad."

"Oh."

Vison let out a soft snort from his nose, pretending to pinch his face fiercely, but when his fingers actually landed, it turned into a light pinch.

"Have you ever regretted it? If I hated you because of this and didn't appease you, you would be dead." He said angrily, emphasizing the last sentence with a hint of anger.

With his face being pinched, Feibos didn't struggle and just obediently let it be pinched: "No."

Vison stared intently into his eyes, as if trying to see right through his thoughts.

His ruby-like eyes were exceptionally clear, their bright light clearly indicating that this was indeed what he thought.

Although reason told Vincent that Fipos's choice was reasonable and correct, he still couldn't help feeling somewhat disappointed.

But then Fipos spoke again, his voice low and husky, as if recalling that time: "In the end, I was very reluctant to part with you, Vison."

"Hmm? When?"

"When I closed my eyes on the battlefield, I missed you so much." Feppos covered his eyes with his arm, not daring to look directly into those beautiful, dark eyes.

Vison forcefully pulled his arm away, insisting that he look directly into his eyes.

His tone was light, dispelling the heavy atmosphere that had just emerged: "I like this, tell me more about it."

"In the end, I thought, if only I could come back, go back to see you, I would want to be by your side, I want to be with you forever."

"What if I read your damn letter and then go looking for other female insects?"

Feibo paused for a moment, then said, "Then I'll stay by your side, as long as I come back alive."

His tone was somewhat like that of a spoiled child.

Vison stared intently at Fipos and asked the question that had been on his mind: "And what about next time?"

Will this happen again the next time you go to the battlefield?

Choosing to leave me again?

......

silence.

Vison had plenty of patience to wait for Fipos's answer.

His expression was remarkably calm, as if he could accept whatever answer Fipos gave.

My heart was in turmoil.

After thinking carefully for a while, Fei Bosi replied seriously, "No."

"Oh?" This answer satisfied him, but it also surprised him somewhat.

"Because I can't live without it."

Before experiencing it, I thought I could accept it and endure the pain of separation.

But after truly experiencing that despair, that pain that tore her bones and blood apart, and then returning to his side, she could no longer leave him.

Phibes thought that his heart was already shackled, and he could not escape.

Vison felt a slight sense of pleasure upon seeing his genuine expression, but he still put on a fierce demeanor.

“There won’t be a next time. You actually dare to think about a next time?” Vinson revealed the darkness in his heart, seemingly joking yet serious. “I’m going to lock you up.”

It sounds rather unreasonable, since it was Vison himself who was just asked the question.

Fipos, however, apologized for his misunderstanding: "I was wrong."

Vison stared at him without saying a word.

Fipos then quietly met his gaze.

The two of them hadn't said a word, yet it seemed as if something was about to overflow between them.

It's an atmosphere unique to them.

Feibos saw that the insects were asking for leave just to accompany their master, and they would ask for several days at a time.

He has always respected this but not understood it.

He didn't understand why he had to spend so much time with them, and what was so special about it.

But now he understands.

Even if he did nothing, just looking into those dark, beautiful eyes, like the most expensive obsidian, with his reflection in them.

He already felt happy.

The moment I saw him, my heart felt like an open can of soda, bubbling and fizzing.

So happy.

This growing sense of happiness compels him to express something.

Fipos sat up, looking into Vincent's eyes with an unprecedented seriousness on his face.

"I love you, Vison."

Before Vincent could react to his sudden action, he heard Vincent's straightforward and passionate confession.

He stared blankly at Feibos, never expecting that the words he had been longing to hear would suddenly appear.

The usually taciturn and hesitant Phipps seemed to have transformed into a worm, continuing, "My love keeps growing, and when I meet you, I don't know what to do."

"I've always thought, I haven't done anything for you, so how can I talk about loving you?"

"But I'm willing to do anything for you, I'm willing to give my all."

"As long as I stay by your side, I feel happy. This happiness drives me to tell you I love you, even though I feel unworthy."

It was as if these words had been hidden in his heart for a long time, and today he was finally able to open up and pour them out all at once.

Fipos smiled and looked at him with bright eyes.

Vison thought that the ruby he had swallowed was nothing compared to these eyes.

He was almost overwhelmed by his words.

I don't know what expression to make or how to respond.

Despite having been looking forward to it for so long, he was at a loss when the moment actually arrived.

In the end, all I could manage to say, awkwardly, was, "You look so silly with that smile."

But even though he said that, his face, neck, and even his eyes were flushed with embarrassment.

This was a side of Lord Vison that no other insect had ever seen; only Feibosi could have seen him like this.

Fipos smiled even more broadly.

For the first time, he felt how wonderful it was to express his own thoughts.

He had a moment of worry before he spoke: would Vison hate him after hearing his absurd words? Would he think he lacked self-awareness?

But now it seems that Vison is happy.

This made him even happier.

He was so happy that he hugged him.

The fresh, sweet scent of oranges lingered around our noses as our skin touched and our necks intertwined, allowing us to feel each other's warmth.

The first time wasn't in bed, but in a normal setting. Vison felt that Feppos was actively expressing his love, and his heart softened completely.

His eyes filled with tenderness, and he hugged him tightly.

Like two hedgehogs embracing each other, each showing the other their softest side.

After the embrace, their faces were flushed, filled with the shyness of lovers and the happiness of mutual affection.

"If it weren't for you, I would have chosen to die on the battlefield," Feppos said softly. "Fortunately, it's you. You're just too good."

"Are you crazy?" Vison raised an eyebrow, as if reprimanding him, but there was no anger in his eyes. "Where is your responsibility as a prince and general?"

"After I die, there will still be insects that can take over this position. And I still have female insect brothers, who are actually doing quite well right now. So I am insignificant to the other insects..."

Her pale red, full lips opened and closed, uttering words about her impending death, which were anything but pleasant to hear.

Vison thought.

"A kiss?" Vison interrupted him, his tone casual and seductive.

Fipos immediately took the bait: "Kiss."

Both parties were very satisfied.

They had been longing for it for a long time.

Between their lips, the sound was faint and indistinct, floating and drifting amidst the sound of water.

“You know what? I’ve been watching you all along, on the battlefield,” Vison said haltingly.

"When I saw you close your eyes, I really thought you were dead."

Even now, as they kiss and truly feel each other's presence, Vison's heart still trembles when he thinks of the scene from back then.

It was an uncontrollable panic and pain.

"sorry."

Feppos keenly sensed the sudden change in Vincent's tone, and he apologized with deep remorse, kissing him even more deeply.

......

“Me too,” Vison suddenly said, his tone somewhat ambiguous.

"What?"

"I love you. I love you too."

Vison finally spoke frankly and bravely about his unchanging feelings.

"So, you can't escape anymore."

Even when he hated him the most, he admitted that he loved him.

The beast within had broken free of its cage the day Phipps left.

He was going to lock him in his cage, just like he had dreamed, but the difference was that he wouldn't give Phibos a chance to escape.

"good."

Hearing his agreement, she pressed down hard on the back of his head and kissed him even deeper.

Soon, his breathing became increasingly erratic.

Just when things were about to get out of control, Feppos gently pushed Vison away.

His face showed a pleading expression, which was particularly pitiful: "I really can't do it anymore."

Vison tilted his head, looking at him innocently: "Isn't this your duty?"

As the female ruler, her duty is to feed the male ruler.

Phipps roughly understood what he meant.

His legs went weak, and he carefully moved backward under Vinson's watchful gaze.

Finally, he turned around and tried to run away.

But Vinson had just predicted it.

He reached out and grabbed his ankle, forcefully pulling Feppos back from the bed where he had tripped.

Vison smiled happily, a smile brighter than any he had ever shown before.

He looked at Feppos with smug satisfaction.

Having failed to escape, Feipo turned over, looked at Vison's expression, and laughed.

With a helpless yet alluring smile, he tried to evoke Vison's pity with words: "Be gentle."

pity.

The failure to awaken was as devastating as a failed escape attempt.

He was like a beautiful little bird with a loud song, but who was injured.

All it could do was let out intermittent, continuous sobs.

When the playful owner finally let it go, the little bird was in a terrible state of disarray.

Vison looked at the bedding, which had become as troublesome as the carpet, and felt a little relieved after the absurdity.

Fortunately, there's an oblivious robot butler here to clean up.

Fipos lay there, panting heavily.

As soon as Vincent's hand reached out and touched him, he trembled reflexively.

...He looks so pitiful. He just wanted to carry him to the bathroom to wash him.

Vincent pursed his lips and guiltily withdrew his hand.
