Chapter 55, Chapter 59: Enough Anklets
Fipos paused for a moment, unsure how to answer.
He carefully observed Vinson's expression, trying to discern whether Vinson was subtly questioning him about his escape from the handcuffs.
Although he had no recollection of it, yesterday's events were so intense that he lost his ability to think clearly in the latter half of the night, and it's possible he unconsciously tried to break free...
"Handcuffs..." he said hesitantly.
“Oh, I put it away; it felt a bit in the way. What, do you prefer handcuffs to this?” Unexpectedly, Fabers brought up handcuffs, and Vincent looked at him with suspicion.
That's great, it wasn't torn by him.
Fipose secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Unaware of his anxiety, Vincent urged, "Tell me quickly, do you like the new gift?"
If this question were posed to any other insect, even if the other party were Lord Vison, the insect of dreams, it would probably be difficult for them to say they "like" this kind of "house arrest."
But it was Fipose who faced this problem.
"I like it." Feibosi nodded sincerely, and it was clear that he genuinely liked it.
Upon hearing this answer, Vison raised the corners of his mouth, extremely satisfied.
"Then you can keep wearing them. If it weren't for the fact that they're in the way so much, I would have handcuffed and shackled you too."
However, it's okay to take it out and wear it occasionally; sometimes, some obstacles can be quite a unique experience, Vison thought.
Fipos nodded silently, but did not leave. The tall man stood at the door, blocking much of the light.
Why are you still standing there?
“I’m watching you cook.” Fipos stared intently at his movements.
Those long, slender, fair hands, usually used only for designing machinery, now held a surprisingly warm and homely air as they stirred vegetables in a spatula. "I had no idea you could cook..."
After sighing, he went over and tried to take the shovel from his hand.
"Go sit down." Vinson ignored the melancholy in his words and gently patted the hand that was outstretched to him. "There's a lot more you don't know yet. You'll gradually find out later."
After being slapped away, Fipos shook his head and insisted on standing there: "I'll wait for you."
Vison looked at him with feigned disgust, but the corners of his mouth turned up even higher: "You seem to be love-struck."
"What is a love-struck brain?" asked Feibosi, turning into a curious child.
When asked the question, Vison was too lazy to explain and casually brushed him off: "It just means you have a good brain."
Upon hearing this explanation, Fei Bosi immediately retorted, "Then you are one too, love-struck."
A sincere compliment.
“…” Vison turned his head away fiercely.
Just then, Fei Bosi, who had been holding back his laughter, couldn't help but burst out laughing the moment Fei Bosi looked at him fiercely.
Enraged, Vison shoved him a few times, and he pretended to stumble back a few steps in return.
But the smile on her face became even brighter.
The once-false and cold-blooded imperial general has slowly transformed into the real and vibrant Fei Pos.
Like flowers finally blooming on a high mountain, they bring endless vitality to the barren land.
When had Vison ever seen such a carefree and genuinely happy Fipos?
He was momentarily dazed by what he saw.
Even knowing that he was just playing a trick on him, he would forgive him before he even apologized because of his smile.
Or rather, they can't feel any anger at all, and might even smile because of his laughter.
They pretended to push each other fiercely, but both of them burst out laughing.
It's a strange unspoken understanding between lovers.
Even the glacial smell in the air seemed to have warmed up a bit.
It wasn't until a burnt smell reached his nose that Vincent suddenly remembered that he had been cooking earlier.
He frantically tried to salvage the situation, not forgetting to give Fipos a nickname that had nothing to do with him at all: "Childish."
Fipos readily accepted the title, and even seemed to enjoy it.
*
The two paid the price for their "playful antics," frantically trying to salvage the situation for a while, but in the end, they managed to successfully serve the last dish on the table.
The original two dishes and one soup were supplemented with the last dish, making it a complete three dishes and one soup.
It has a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste.
It clearly took Vison a lot of time.
When Vincent returned from washing his hands, he saw Fipos sitting at the dining table, who had been smiling, but whose expression had reverted to its usual masked demeanor.
Are you unhappy?
After spending a long time together, Vincent had figured out that when Feppos put on this expression at home, it usually meant he was unhappy. However, even if he noticed it before, he wouldn't say anything and would only guess in his heart.
But ever since the last agreement to take control of Fiorentina, Vison has been determined to try a different approach.
He wanted to ask him directly and make him tell him clearly.
He was just a little inexperienced when asking questions for the first time, and he couldn't help but be a bit sarcastic.
Is your mood like a rainy day?
His expression turned cold.
When Feibos saw Vinson's cold face, he remembered how Vinson ignored him when he first woke up.
This made his heart skip a beat reflexively.
"No, no, what's wrong?"
"What's wrong? Why are you suddenly unhappy?" Vincent looked at him seriously, his eyes sharp, not allowing him to be perfunctory.
"I..." Fipos started to speak but then stopped, his expression becoming somewhat troubled under Vinson's stern questioning.
“What are you afraid of, Fipos? Didn’t I tell you that as long as you don’t leave my side, everything else is correct?” Vincent’s tone slowed down and became gentle as he patiently guided him.
After a brief silence, under Vison's expression, which could be described as gentle and patient, Feppos finally spoke.
“I was thinking that there was already so little I could do for you, and now it seems like there’s one less.” Fipos lowered his eyes, not daring to look him in the eye, only staring at the food, which was even presented beautifully. “I’m afraid you don’t need me anymore.”
"I'm afraid of being replaced."
When he uttered his last words, it was as if he had exhausted most of his strength, making a desperate gamble.
He had been feeling quite pleased with himself for being able to cook for Vincent, but then he suddenly learned that Vincent could cook for himself and did it much better than him, which made him feel extremely frustrated.
Vison would always suddenly reveal a side of himself that he had never seen before, a side that was exceptionally dazzling, which increasingly attracted him.
But it also made him increasingly worried that the light emitted by the pearl would attract other insects in addition to him.
This was something he least wanted to say, yet he had imagined and rehearsed in his mind a thousand times.
He often pondered what methods he would use to win back Vison if he fell for a new female insect. How could he kill the other female insect silently?
But this cannot be said aloud; it is "jealousy," a major taboo, and a mistake.
All the female insects can only humbly probe whether the male's feelings for them still remain; this has always been the case.
Most of the time, Fabers and Vison didn't sit facing each other, but rather sat side by side.
Rather than looking at each other's faces, they both unanimously preferred to be close to and touch each other.
Today is also "most of the time".
At such close range, Vincent only needed to tilt his head slightly to see all the struggle and anxiety in Feppos's eyes.
After listening quietly to Fei Bosi's string of words, Vincent showed no change in expression, nor did he reveal any expression of rejection or disgust that Fei Bosi would not want to see. Instead, he first patted Fei Bosi's head gently and softly, saying, "Good boy."
Like a dog that has fallen into the water and is rescued by its owner in time.
Fipos stared blankly at Vison, never expecting such a compliment and such a gentle "reward".
"Because you honestly told me your inner thoughts, I think you are very well-behaved."
"It should be like this from now on. Like I told you last time, if you want to know something, just ask. Similarly, you should answer whatever I ask, okay?"
“Agreed.” Fipos agreed instantly to the treaty that was like a windfall to him.
"Regarding your predicament..." Vinson chuckled as if he had heard a joke, "Do you think I'm idle and like to torture myself?"
"Except for you, I would never ask any other insect to do something repeatedly, even at the risk of going against the Marshal, and I would never rush to the spaceship to pick you up because of my anxiety."
Upon hearing Vison's words, Fei Pos was so shocked that he was speechless. He had always thought that Devi had brought him to Vison's place, but it turned out that it was Devi who had come to pick him up and take him home.
"Besides, my mental energy is limited. Since you're so greedy, one is enough for me to feed you."
Finally, Vison glanced at him and said something cryptic.
Before he could even express his gratitude to Vison for picking him up, he heard his pointed remark.
Fipos blushed instantly: "I didn't..."
"I wonder who was bothering me yesterday..." Vincent hummed a few times, and only let him go after seeing that Feibos was blushing and did not refute.
Finally, he spoke with a serious expression, calling him by his full name: "Feibos, I don't want to keep repeating the same things over and over again, nor do I want you to think about strange and impossible things every day. I'll tell you this one last time."
“Okay.” Feibos immediately became serious, as if attending a military conference, his heart pounding with anticipation.
"I won't look for other insects, nor will I like other insects."
"Won't there be female servants and female slaves either?" In that instant, Phipps forgot everything he had learned from the forum and other "model couples" and simply expressed his desire.
Can you see only me, illuminate only me, and only me?
Even though some male insects said that taking female servants and slaves was just to have more insects to do the work, Feipos couldn't stand the presence of other insects in his and Vison's home.
He can do all the work without needing any other insects; the appearance of other insects only makes him want to kill them all.
"No. By the way, are you already so clear about your position as the queen?" Vison looked at him with some amusement, noticing the barely concealed irritation on his face whenever the topic came up.
Yes, that's very interesting.
This kind of Faber is also very interesting.
Sometimes, Vison feels like he's a complete collector of "Fipos's Complete Guide," with obsessive-compulsive tendencies and a penchant for collecting. He can only be happy if he collects all of Fipos's expressions and emotions.
Upon hearing his firm refusal, Feppos's lips immediately curved into a beautiful smile.
He leaned closer to Vinson, his already strong presence instantly becoming undeniable. He buried his head near Vinson's face, adopting a pitiful posture, forgetting the pain of being rejected when he woke up: "Please, my lord."
"I'm tied up by you, you have to take responsibility for me." He shook his foot, the silver chain making a crisp sound.
When Vison saw that expression on his face, he inexplicably hallucinated the very beginning, in the cave, when they first met, and how Fipos had seduced him and told him to "do it."
The temperature of my cheeks gradually rose.
He pushed him away forcefully: "Be serious."
Fipos looked at him with great confusion and innocence, not knowing how he had become "improper," but still obediently sat down properly.
Vincent cleared his throat, clearing his mind of all the jumbled thoughts: "Then remember your current thoughts, and just stay obediently by my side."
He revealed the key point he had kept hidden for so long: "If you still leave, then the highest-ranking male insect in the empire will perish because of you."
His words were clearly threatening, yet his tone was as light as a wisp of smoke, his expression casual, but upon closer inspection, it was serious; he was clearly not joking.
Fipos's face instantly showed utter disapproval: "You can't do this! How can you risk your life..."
Before he could even get to the bottom of things, Vison interrupted him.
“Fibos.” He called his name again, staring intently into his eyes, his tone as usual, “In that case, don’t leave again.”
Phibes was speechless. They looked at each other, and finally he replied in a low, hoarse voice, "Okay, then don't regret it."
“Okay.” Vincent smiled, his smile as bright as sunshine breaking through layers of dark clouds, so beautiful and radiant it was unbelievable.
They kissed naturally, forgetting everything else, leaving only two hearts close together.
It wasn't until their stomachs started to rumble that they realized how long they had actually spent in front of the food.
"Eat quickly, my cooking is very good." Vincent frowned, "It's all cold."
Fipos, however, seemed oblivious, shoveling food into his mouth with gusto, his eyes sparkling: "I think it's just right, delicious, so delicious!"
His initial worry, stemming from Vison's threat to him, vanished as he tasted the delicious food.
In that instant, Feppos suddenly realized that since he would never leave him again, his worries were now nothing.
He wanted to be intertwined with him forever and ever.
They wanted to cut him open and bury him in flesh and blood.
Fipos thought to himself.
Who imprisoned whom?
"It's no use if it tastes good. I'll only make it once, remember the taste, and make it for me next time," Vincent said smugly.
He learned to cook for himself after moving out at a young age, but he never thought his cooking was delicious, no matter how top-notch the recipe.
Until today, he finally gleaned some truth from Fipos's expression.
Upon hearing this, Fei Bosi's face clearly showed pleasure, and even though he tried his best to control his voice and appear calm, he said, "Okay."
Vison remained silent, his eyes dazzled by the pleasure on the man's face. After a long while, he couldn't help but laugh again.
"puff."
He had originally intended to make Feibos feel worse, but unexpectedly received an exceptionally bright smile from Feibos.
"Are you an idiot? I've locked up a general." He kicked the silver chain on his ankle, making a crisp sound. "And you still have to cook for me? What's there to be happy about? If I were you, I'd be crying."
Fipos wasn't annoyed by being called stupid; instead, he earnestly clarified, "I won't cry."
