Chapter 13 Going to the Police Station Together

The person opposite her seemed to have woken up as well, rubbed his head and looked at her, then widened his eyes.

"You?" Wei Changfeng was momentarily unsure whether he was hallucinating from the impact or if such a coincidence truly existed.

The girl opposite him didn't say anything, she just stared at him blankly.

Wei Changfeng realized that the problem was entirely his own, and rushed forward recklessly, bumping right into someone who was pushing open the door of the bakery.

He apologized repeatedly and tried to get up to help Lin Xiao, but he almost twisted his ankle when he tried to stand up and sat back down on the ground.

Lin Xiao was also hit by the "giant" flying in front of him and saw stars. He couldn't get up for a moment.

Wei Changfeng is tall and has long legs. He had also put in all his effort while chasing the thief, so this collision was no small matter.

Xiao Hao, who had long been left behind by Wei Changfeng, saw his brother quickly turn into another street ahead and chased after him with all his might, afraid that if the bag was lost, he would lose the person as well.

But the distance between them kept widening. When he finally turned the corner, breathless, he saw Wei Changfeng and someone else fall to the ground at the same time. He instantly imagined a heroic scene of him leaping over and slamming the thief down.

Xiao Hao braced himself on his knees, bent over, and said breathlessly, "Brother, brother, those long legs of yours really aren't for nothing, I can't keep up at all! Did you catch a thief?"

As he spoke, he glanced at the person sitting on the ground opposite Wei Changfeng. He saw a girl with disheveled hair and a bewildered expression. There were also several pieces of broken bread and flattened macarons on her and on the ground next to her.

"Brother, what happened?" Xiao Hao asked in surprise as he helped him up.

Upon seeing Xiao Hao arrive, Wei Changfeng said he was fine, but he had bumped into the girl badly and asked him to help Lin Xiao up first and see if she needed to go to the hospital.

"I'm so sorry, our bag was stolen. I was in a hurry to chase the thief and didn't notice when I bumped into you."

He felt very sorry when he saw Lin Xiao's disheveled appearance and the bread scattered all over the ground.

Without Xiao Hao's help, Lin Xiao got up on her own, calmed herself down, and confirmed that only the baguette had been broken; her body was still intact.

"It's okay, you didn't do it on purpose." She patted the bread crumbs off her clothes and asked Wei Changfeng, "You bumped into something pretty hard, are you alright?"

"Oh, I'm fine, I'm fine. What about you? Do you want to go to the hospital for a check-up?"

Although Lin Xiao felt sore all over after being hit, he was sure he was fine, so he quickly waved his hand to say that he didn't need it.

Having confirmed that Lin Xiao was alright, Wei Changfeng glanced at the end of the street, where the two thieves were no longer visible. It seemed the bag was beyond recovery.

Xiao Hao then noticed that the girl in front of him looked somewhat familiar, and hearing her speak Chinese, he happily said:

"Oh dear, luckily it was a fellow countryman. If it had been a foreigner, they might have been very upset."

Wei Changfeng glared at him and gently scolded, "Xiao Hao, how can you talk like that?"

Xiao Hao realized he might have been a bit rude and quickly said, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it, I just got a little excited to see a fellow countryman. Hey, why do you look so familiar?"

As they were talking, Zhao Hui and Xiao Min arrived, panting, only to find out that Wei Changfeng had lost the thief and had even knocked down a passerby.

Zhao Hui immediately recognized the girl in front of him; she was the girl who sat next to Wei Changfeng on the day they flew to Paris.

Wei Changfeng asked him and Xiao Hao, "Do you still have any money in your pockets? I smashed all the bread that other people bought. My wallet was stolen from my backpack."

Xiao Hao hurriedly reached into his pocket and found several tens of euros.

Wei Changfeng took the money to compensate Lin Xiao, but Lin Xiao firmly refused.

She countered, "Did you call the police? Did you have your passport or anything on you, or was it in the stolen bag?"

Zhao Hui was deeply grateful to see that the girl was very understanding and not only did she not blame them, but she also put herself in their shoes and thought of them.

"My passport and money are all in my bag. I just asked Xiaomin and she said the same thing. What about you two?" He turned to look at Wei Changfeng and Xiaohao.

Xiao Hao shrugged: "Brother, you were the one who said Paris was unsafe and had a lot of pickpockets, and told me to be careful. So my passport and most of my cash were in my underwear, and I only had a little money in my bag."

Wei Changfeng nudged him with his elbow, asking him to talk about underwear in front of a strange girl.

He knew that Xiao Hao had put his important things in the zippered pocket outside his underwear.

Xiao Hao had recommended those uniquely designed underwear to him, suggesting he buy a pair too, but he refused. But now it seems Xiao Hao was the smartest one.

Zhao Hui felt a little relieved; at least the four of them weren't penniless anymore, and they still had some money and one person's passport.

"Changfeng, what about you?" Seeing that Wei Changfeng was only nudging Xiaohao and giving him winks, without answering his question, Zhao Hui continued to ask.

"Brother, I'm the same as you. My money, passport, and ID card are all in the innermost compartment of my backpack."

"My passport was originally in my suitcase, but I temporarily put it in my bag when I left today," Wei Changfeng said, somewhat annoyed.

Zhao Hui touched his forehead. Well, now three out of the four people are unregistered.

He turned to Lin Xiao and asked, "Will calling the police get it back? Are the French police reliable?"

Lin Xiao paused for a moment and said, "There is still a chance to find it, although the chance is very slim."

Upon hearing this, Wei Changfeng shrugged and said to his agent, "Brother, if the French police were reliable, would the security in Paris be like this? They're robbing people in the street, and we're in the city center, not some remote area."

"Does that mean there's no hope?" Xiaomin immediately became dejected.
