Chapter 26 Unexpected Disaster at the Ski Resort

Many people didn't sleep well that night. The next day, Lin Xiao woke up early and quietly went to the kitchen to make coffee for everyone.

As everyone got up, the aroma of coffee filled the air when they entered the living room.

After washing up, Wei Changfeng, with a white towel still draped around his neck, went straight to the kitchen after smelling the aroma of coffee.

When Lin Xiao turned around, he saw him looking very refreshed: there were still some wet hairs on his forehead from washing his face, his eyes were shining brightly like a puppy looking for food, and his face looked even whiter after washing. Even at such a close distance, it was as if you couldn't see any pores.

Lin Xiao felt his heart skip a beat and quickly turned to leave.

Wei Changfeng asked her from behind if she had slept well last night. Lin Xiao didn't turn her head, just nodded, and took her coffee to the sofa by the fireplace and sat down.

Wei Changfeng didn't notice her panic, assuming she was still in low spirits, so he poured himself a cup of coffee and went over to her to continue comforting her.

Zhao Hui had just stepped out of the room when he saw this scene, but he didn't say anything.

Xiao Hao and Xiao Min followed the aroma into the kitchen, and they began to discuss their plans for the day. After all, they had half a day of free time left in the town before heading back in the afternoon.

After discussion, everyone agreed that they would go skiing for three hours in the morning, have lunch and rest, and then Xiao Hao would drive them back.

Yesterday, we bought some bread, sandwiches, and ham from the supermarket. We had a simple meal with coffee and then headed to the ski resort.

The ski resort was very close to their accommodation, just a few minutes' walk away.

The beginner slope is at the foot of the mountain, while the intermediate and advanced slopes require taking a cable car up the mountain. Since everyone didn't want to be separated, they decided to play on the beginner slope for the time being.

Lin Xiao rented ski equipment for the group, and even Xiao Min, who had never tried skiing before, was inspired to join in the fun as she watched everyone having so much fun on the slopes.

Xiao Hao was a great skater and was in charge of guiding Xiao Min, while Wei Changfeng and Zhao Hui moved slowly like penguins, carefully traversing the snow, looking quite comical and adorable.

Lin Xiao asked if they should find them a coach. They both waved their hands repeatedly. Wei Changfeng said it was better to forget it. He figured that whether they were taught in English or French, it would be like listening to gibberish.

Seeing this, Xiao Hao took on the role of a volunteer coach and began to tutor the three of them, with Lin Xiao assisting from the side.

Wei Changfeng wanted to help her shake off the gloomy mood from last night, so he said to Lin Xiao, "Lin Xiao, have fun by yourself, don't worry about us."

Zhao Hui was also a little curious about Lin Xiao's skill level. This seemingly delicate and quiet girl in front of him seemed to have no problem with anything.

So he said to Lin Xiao, "Show us your skills!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Xiao took the cable car to the top of the beginner slope, then waved to them from the mountainside. He then put on his ski poles, leaned forward, and in an instant, gracefully sped down the slope.

Everyone couldn't help but admire her graceful and fluid movements.

Lin Xiao quickly skied up to them, and Wei Changfeng asked, "Do you ski often?"

Lin Xiao raised his ski goggles and smiled, saying, "Not often. I have a friend whose family owns a ski resort, and I go there to ski for a few days every winter."

Xiao Hao rolled his eyes dramatically and said to everyone, "Lin Xiao killed the game."

Zhao Hui added, "Yes, at all levels."

Lin Xiao felt a little embarrassed when everyone teased him.

Wei Changfeng insisted on telling her, "You ski so well, go play on the advanced slopes with Xiaohao, don't worry about us. You've been taking care of us these past two days."

Zhao Hui also felt bad about it, so he offered to hire an instructor to teach the three of them so that Lin Xiao and Xiao Hao could enjoy skiing on the slopes they were good at.

Unable to persuade them otherwise, Lin Xiao found an English-speaking coach at the ski resort. The coach confidently promised to teach them within three hours.

So Xiaohao and Lin Xiao took the cable car to the intermediate ski slope located halfway up the mountain.

There were half as many people on the intermediate slopes, and everyone was of similar skill level. There were no beginners, so you didn't have to worry about being knocked over by a flying person while skiing, making it a very comfortable slope.

After skiing for about an hour, ski resort staff suddenly rushed over, shouting as they skied.

Because everyone was wearing thick ski suits, hats, and goggles, they couldn't hear or see clearly who the ski resort staff were shouting at or what they were saying.

Just as he was about to continue gliding, the staff rushed in front of Lin Xiao and made an emergency stop.

Lin Xiao then realized something was wrong and quickly took off his hat to ask what had happened.

Because she spoke in French, the staff member opposite her immediately breathed a sigh of relief and asked him in very fast French, "Are you Ms. Lin? Are the three Chinese people at the beginner ski resort your friends? One of them is injured!"

Lin Xiao was taken aback. Xiao Hao saw her being stopped by the staff and rushed over, but he couldn't understand a word they were saying. He anxiously tugged at Lin Xiao's sleeve and asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong?"

Lin Xiao didn't have time to explain to him and continued to ask the staff, "Do you know who is injured? How serious are the injuries?"

"Mr. M. M. His friend speaks English. We've already called an ambulance, and his friend asked us to come here to inform you."

Lin Xiao felt a sudden darkness before his eyes and turned to Xiao Hao, saying, "It seems Wei Changfeng is injured. Let's go down and check on him quickly."

Upon hearing her words, Xiao Hao's legs went weak, and he anxiously asked, "Is it my brother? How did he get injured? Is it serious? Wasn't there a coach teaching him? How could he still get injured?"
