Very bitter, very astringent

Very bitter, very astringent

"Officer, did you make a mistake?"

"According to reports from the public, a criminal gang is hiding here, suspected of trafficking and illegally imprisoning Omegas. We have all the evidence, and it looks like you're going to play dumb forever. Release the Omegas now!"

Lu Heng was about to speak when Chu Rong caught him off guard and punched him in the cheek. "Is it still spicy now?"

Lu Heng instinctively wanted to fight back, but then he realized that beating up the Omega would only add another offense, so he suppressed the urge. Chu Rong used all his strength to beat the seemingly righteous Alpha until the corner of his mouth bled.

The two detectives quickly pulled Lu Heng away and checked Chu Rong for any additional wounds.

"It's just the left hand that's bleeding, there are no other wounds."

"Your mental state is very bad. If you are not allergic to the medicine, take the emergency medicine first." The leading Beta officer was much gentler in his attitude towards the Omega.

While treating his wound, Chu Rong whispered to him, "There's another accomplice inside, and they're suspected of developing illegal drugs that tamper with pheromones. They may also be hiding deadly weapons. Search carefully. If you want to interrogate them, that Alpha named Lu Heng is very cunning. You can ask his cousin Lu Shuo first. And officer, can I know who reported this?"

Captain Beta and Omega exchanged a glance. The man in front of him was wearing a coat, his body still shaking uncontrollably. His black and white eyes reflected stubbornness and unwillingness to accept defeat. He looked to be in poor health, but he was a ruthless man who had survived the estrus period and was determined to fight against the bad guys.

After giving him a dose of suppressant, the officer casually said, "Your neighbors saw you once, and when they couldn't find you for a long time, they called the police. Someone else also provided evidence, realized you were in danger, and took unnecessary measures to break in. Were you scared?"

Chu Rong shook his head. "To be honest, I felt much more at ease when I saw you. If you had come a little later, you might have seen me bite off his murder weapon."

Officer Beta, who had been trying to lighten the mood, fell silent for a moment after hearing him say that. Then he said, "I'll take you back for a checkup."

"Thank you. I don't want to stay in this place full of Alpha pheromones. It's disgusting!"

The officer led him down the elevator. "My last name is Huang, and I'm currently the captain of the 11th Special Operations Squadron. You can just call me Captain Huang. Saving lives is our job, so there's no need to get too excited. A simple thank you will be enough."

"Captain Huang, the person you mentioned...can I know his name?"

"I'm sorry, I don't know who he is. You're one of the rare people who can survive your period. It's a pity you're an Omega, otherwise I'd like to bring you into our team and train you well."

Chu Rong smiled tiredly. He turned around and saw the gorgeous sunset clouds outside. The brilliance was like a blow to him. It was like he was reborn. All kinds of emotions surged out at once. His nose felt sore and tears flowed out as he blinked.

Team Yellow gave him a clean handkerchief.

"Thank you." Chu Rong silently shed tears, and quickly stopped his well-developed tear glands. "Actually, I'm homeless and don't know who I am."

"We can help you find out, but it will take a little extra time."

"Compared to this, I want to know... Is Su Xingyun still alive? I saw the news saying he's most likely dead, but my intuition tells me he's still alive. Before the pheromones in my glands wear off, can I see him one last time? His body, his ashes, or his portrait are all fine!"

"Please calm down." Captain Huang politely brushed off his hand. "Look over there. He might be the person you're looking for."

Chu Rong immediately turned his head to look. The setting sun stretched the figure of the man on the roadside very long.

He was sitting in a wheelchair, with no one else around. His stern face was calm and composed, like an unattainable flower from a mountaintop. He caught Chu Rong's eye, and his fingers tightened on the handlebars. The corners of his mouth twitched, then slowly lifted.

He tried to put on a friendly smile on his pale face with dark circles under his eyes.

But he failed. The overly deliberate expression obviously did not suit him, making his handsome face look funny and awkward. Chu Rong couldn't hold back his expression and burst out laughing.

Su Xingyun smiled helplessly. He wanted to open his mouth to speak, but he didn't know what to say, so he had to close it angrily.

Chu Rong walked over and looked at his injured leg: "Why are you lame?"

"Accident." Su Xingyun's throat was hoarse. It was rare for him to see Chu Rong, and his eyes couldn't help but become moist.

"Was abandoning me and leaving an accident?"

Su Xingyun looked up instantly. How could one describe the look in his eyes? His eyelashes trembled slightly, and there was a tiny glint in his eyes. That wasn't the expression a powerful Alpha should have. He looked like he was about to cry.

"Yes, I'm sorry..." He was so excited that he wanted to get up, but his right leg had no strength and he quickly fell down and slid out of the wheelchair. Before he knelt on the ground, Chu Rong reached out to support him, pushed him back to the chair, and tied the belt.

When he tried to retreat, his uninjured wrist was tightly grasped. Alpha's eyes were red as he pleaded humbly, "Don't go, Chu Rong, please!"

Chu Rong said indifferently, "Let me ask you one question. When the accident happened that day, did you abandon me and escape alone?"

"Absolutely not!" Su Xingyun looked at him and answered very decisively and firmly. After a few seconds, he avoided his gaze guiltily. Chu Rong pulled his hand away without hesitation, and the Alpha almost fell to the ground because of his strength.

"I, I only abandoned you once... I've never been good at dealing with feelings. After I regained my memory, I panicked. Then I thought about severing ties and going back home because of all the things I had to do at home and my grandmother to take care of. But I didn't know you were pregnant, and my grandmother was critically ill at the time. I couldn't take care of anything else!"

Chu Rong's eyes grew even colder, and the blood that had frozen for a moment began to surge even more violently. A strange feeling slowly faded from anger along with other emotions, finally transforming into a venomous rant: "Don't you have a mouth? Why are you saying this now? Even so, it's true that you abandoned me, and I will never forgive you, Su Xingyun."

Su Xingyun blinked, tears falling from his eyelashes. The Alpha stared at him blankly, his lips moving twice without uttering a single word. He looked like he truly wanted to repent, but his previous twenty years of elite education had made it difficult for him to easily give up his pride. He also couldn't bear to let go of Chu Rong, feeling stuck in a state of torment.

Awkward and arrogant, she knew it wasn't the time to be silent, but she couldn't say a word. She was still so energetic even when arguing with him.

Chu Rong had no choice but to sigh, "The back of my neck is a little itchy..."

Alpha raised his eyes in confusion, "Help you... scratch it?"

"Stupid, I'm talking about an itchy gland that needs someone to bite it. I really want to knock you out with a stick so you don't remember anything!"

Doesn't this just make him go back to the time before he lost his memory?

The Alpha shuddered. He lifted Chu Rong's wrist, blew on the reddened skin, and then kissed it devoutly and seriously. The dry, soft lips felt light to the touch, and then a few drops of transparent tears fell.

He was still crying. How could an Alpha cry more than an Omega like him?

Chu Rong felt a little better. He wanted to grab his hair but his hand was injured and he had no idea where to start. "Look up, Su Xingyun."

Alpha obediently raised his head, tears blurring his eyes. His pure black eyelashes fluttered in a row, and his eyes held the eagerness of a puppy for its master. Chu Rong wiped his tears with his fingers and tasted them.

Very bitter and astringent.

Su Xingyun was anxious to ease the strained relationship and tentatively asked, "Have you...have you eaten yet? Do you want to have dinner together?"

This is a good way to get closer. According to the previous Su Xingyun, he was definitely not that smart. He knew that Chu Rong needed to change his clothes now, and he also wanted some space for the two of them to spend time together.

The police officer behind them watched them get into the car, knowing that his mission had been completed, and went back to continue handling the case.

Su Xingyun, who had a leg injury, naturally couldn't drive the car. The driver was a tired young office worker. He kept muttering about how his poor boss had to listen to Chu Rong's songs every night to fall asleep, and he woke up at night talking in his sleep and being called by his name.

Chu Rong: "How do you know he was talking in his sleep at night? You were next to him?"

Su Xingyun: "Ahem!"

Meng Hai immediately shut his mouth. He carefully glanced at his boss's face in the mirror, and sure enough, it was dark.

"Chu Rong, don't listen to his nonsense." Su Xingyun tried several times to find an opportunity to touch Chu Rong's hand, but Chu Rong deliberately avoided it and missed the opportunity repeatedly. He could only withdraw his hand in embarrassment.

"Nonsense? You've been living a good life these days, haven't you?" Chu Rong's sneering question made Su Xingyun's scalp tingle. This sense of urgency as if death was imminent only came when he was being interrogated by Old Madam Su. How could a young Omega be so courageous?

"No, no, I'm actually... having a hard time too. I planned to look for you as soon as I woke up, but my leg injury hasn't healed yet, and grandma doesn't let me run around. It was only when I saw you out for a walk that I had the chance to get close to you." He spoke hurriedly, his originally clear speech becoming blurred, and his hands on his legs clenched with nervousness.

"Su Xingyun."

Just as Su Xingyun was about to look up, a pleasant scent of lime entered his nose. It was Chu Rong who came closer to look at his red eyes, so close that he could touch them.

The Omega stared into his wide eyes and said, "You're crying."

This time Su Xingyun did not deny it, he nodded quickly.

"Don't cry." Chu Rong used his thumb to wipe away the tears at the corners of his eyes, and the more he wiped, the more tears came.

It has been said since ancient times that strong people bleed but do not cry, and Alphas would also regard tears as a sign of cowardice. But now Su Xingyun couldn't care less. Just by looking at Chu Rong's face and hearing his voice, he couldn't control his tear glands and wanted to cry bitterly.

He has been prone to tear incontinence since he was a child. He tried hard to control it when he grew up, but he didn't expect it to relapse so severely now.

"Chu Rong..." The puppy-eyed president looked pitiful, his eyes expressing his selfish desires and emotions, almost as if he were saying them out loud.

Chu Rong pretended not to know and asked him, "What do you want to do?"

"Let me tickle you, okay?"

"I don't itch anymore."

"I'm itchy, my teeth are itchy."

Su Xingyun had never been so humble before, but Chu Rong still liked his rebellious look. His lowered eyes were full of indifference, which made Su Xingyun even more eager.

Chu Rong must still have feelings for him, so she didn't leave immediately. She must hold on to him and not let go.

The Alpha kissed her domineeringly, but Chu Rong did not open his mouth to accept it. He kissed her for a few minutes before prying open her lips and sticking his tongue inside. Before he could get too wild, he was bitten hard, and the smell of blood instantly filled his mouth.

Although it hurt, Su Xingyun did not back down. If he dared to back down, he would have no chance to be with Chu Rong in this life. He hugged Chu Rong, and when he wanted to hold her tighter, he was pushed away.

Chu Rong didn't dislike the jasmine scent on him, but that didn't mean she would accept it calmly.

"Sorry, I was impulsive." Su Xingyun sat back down. He only blamed himself for not having the right opportunity to arouse Chu Rong's feelings.

Perhaps we can never go back to the time when a glance or a touch could lead to a misunderstanding.

Su Xingyun did not give up. He wanted to coax Chu Rong back, not using compensation as an excuse, but because he really wanted to.
