Chapter 68
The Imperial Star is almost here.
That is the center of the Gatna Galaxy, the origin of the Zerg culture, and the place where countless stellar treasures of the universe converge.
The meteorites, scattered throughout the planetary belt and gleaming with magnificent light, are the cores of the planets that the Zerg offered to them, and are more precious than gemstones.
Meanwhile, numerous sophisticated machines, serving as both decorations and weapons, were flying around.
Toto opened his palm, and through the cool, pale blue light, a transparent butterfly with silver specks of light falling from its wings landed on his palm.
The butterfly's antennae trembled slightly, and after a while, it flapped its wings and flew away.
"That's not a butterfly, it's a photon bomb. When it detonates, it can easily turn a medium-sized starship into dust."
Toto glanced at Fei instinctively. This female soldier was a good conversationalist; she wouldn't keep things a secret, nor would she mock the ignorance of other insects. In her dormant memories, she always appeared as a problem solver, offering guidance and help.
As adults, they become more sensitive to the outside world and can easily sense the indifference and apathy of other insects.
He then realized that the way the insect looked at him was more like looking at a substandard, defective product. After a simple assessment, he lost interest.
But Fei was different. His gaze was warm, even though his words were not friendly and even seemed somewhat cold due to the distance between them.
Is this the world after adulthood? Did the father know all this, which is why he desperately wanted to send him away?
Also, the green medal.
The old medal broke, and a new one was quickly sent over; it was a beautiful color, like emerald green amber.
The female insect, dressed in military uniform, possessed a refined and leisurely demeanor, as if on vacation, calmly observing the insectoids crowding outside the port. Her expression was neither complimentary nor profound; she showed neither arrogance nor smugness.
"What is the Imperial Star like?"
He asked the question without expecting an answer, but the female insect considered it carefully. After a moment's thought, she told him, "The Imperial Star is a land of poverty and wealth, a nation of pastoral songs and battles," she said softly, ending with a slight trill that mimicked Toto's pronunciation, a way of speaking in the prairie slang. As the commander, he would of course speak the common language, and that trill was like a little joke.
But it did make Toto feel less uncomfortable. Fei said, "The production of precision machinery freed the Zerg from redundant work, but unfortunately, the high-welfare society we imagined has not come to pass."
He shrugged, Toto looked at him quietly, and Fei said, "You'll find out later."
The massive starship pierced through the planetary belt and atmosphere, landing in a bustling port. Looking out from the nearly transparent pale blue light screen, the oasis, city, river, and ocean gradually transformed from mottled patches of color into clear images.
Countless tall buildings stand outside the port, and their lights suddenly turn on the moment the starship docks.
The guard quickly stood behind Fei and whispered something. The male insect's five senses were not enough for Toto to hear clearly, but he only heard his name and something about taking him back.
But Fei shook his head, and the guard officer was speechless for a moment. He glanced at Toto, who was completely confused. After a pause, he coughed twice, adjusted his hat brim, and stepped aside.
The light curtain covering the command room faded, and a rush of air entered.
At the same time, a deafening chorus of cheers, deafening music, and countless flower petals scattered in the air followed.
The officers, who had just been so serious, waved their hands and responded enthusiastically to the shouts coming from all directions.
Toto was surrounded by grand and magnificent music, swirling flowers, and cheers from unfamiliar voices. He was stunned for a moment, and petals fell into his hair. He shook his head to brush them off and found Fei looking at him.
Fei smiled faintly and clapped lightly: "Happy coming-of-age day, Toregia."
