Chapter 52
Every opinion of the males was given full consideration, and they were given appropriate choices.
Unwilling, don't want to do it, unhappy?
The archbishop removed his sunglasses, revealing a condescending, slightly smiling expression: "Do I look like your paternal grandfather?"
I have no obligation to take care of your feelings.
"I only care whether you pass the final assessment."
"Lazy, delicate, willful, these don't matter. I'm good at eliminating my shortcomings during training."
If you don't want to eat, then you don't have to.
"If you don't want to run, then you don't have to run."
"The league offers many options, and the way you exercise is entirely up to you."
The bishop's tone remained calm and unhurried throughout: "You should believe in your potential; the limits you can reach are far beyond these. Don't succumb to your laziness; only self-discipline can make you strong."
The noble-born male insect, resentful of this hardship, shouted, "This is discrimination!"
The commander flipped through the medical report, raised an eyebrow upon hearing this, and said, "Currently, yes, I discriminate against you. As a Zerg, you lack basic survival skills."
"That's because we don't need it at all!"
The male insect blushed and said, "Even if we can't do anything, you female insects will still fight over who gets to lick my feet."
“Male insects are born leaders. I know why you torment us like this. You are taking revenge because of your status. You will never be like us, where you can just lie there and do nothing and still have lots of money, honors and merits.”
"We were born to enjoy life!"
Fei glanced at the gold medal on the male insect's chest that indicated its rank, and a mocking smile appeared on his face. He felt neither indignation nor helplessness.
That's true; people feel justified in reaping what they don't earn.
Despite being in the interstellar age, they are unable to eradicate this stubborn life form due to their racial characteristics.
However, the Zerg have not evolved to reproduce asexually, and ethical and moral principles do not allow for the mass reproduction of fetuses.
Therefore, they are still necessary. There are also many brilliant males in the alliance who shine brightly in the eyes of the fish. It is not rational to reject all because of the majority of fools.
He tried to convince himself of this, but the last shred of compassion in his heart vanished.
Fei said nothing, he just waved.
All the male insects were driven into the sand, and the scholar who was in charge of the education work, along with the military doctor, went to find Fei.
"Please consider the male insects' ability to endure this! I believe this abuse should stop!"
"This is the work of a demon. Please choose my plan and stop imposing unnecessary punishment!"
Fei's attitude towards scholars was evident in his slightly raised chin and perfunctory tone: "You and your research are both very young."
Fei said, "If you have any objections to my methods, please file a complaint. Until the document revoking my position as an instructor is issued, all the trainees in the entire training ground must listen to me."
Fei gave a signal, and the guards immediately shooed the scholar away from their sight like flies. The scholar was so angry that he jumped up and down and cursed, "I'm going to report you!" But he was actually helpless, and the guards felt sorry for the scholar's provocative behavior.
After the squats, the instructor announced the afternoon's training. Each set of exercises was much more difficult than the morning's. After completing a third of them, most of the males were exhausted, and only a few could continue.
But ultimately, apart from the bishop, the female soldiers don't dare to actually attack the males.
Often, before even touching the other's body, the male insect will start screaming, attracting the attention of the nearby medic and supervisor.
This was indeed a difficult task, and Fei was impatient with doing these babysitting duties. He only stayed at the training ground for half a morning before reaching his limit, assigning training tasks and then leaving.
The remaining male insects quickly discovered the other instructors' bluster masking their weakness, and they soon banded together to organize a collective resistance training.
Wasting precious food, dawdling and delaying training time, insulting the chief instructor in front of the instructors, and even damaging the belongings of an instructor's deceased comrade-in-arms.
Of course, the other party was not punished in any way.
Unable to be controlled, the male insects grew bolder and bolder. One male, out of curiosity, sneaked into a military restricted area during training, triggering an alarm. All the females were urgently assembled, only to find it was a false alarm.
This incident had an extremely negative impact. All the instructors at the training ground received severe punishments and were rotated out. The head instructor himself was also given a demerit.
For three consecutive days, the training became less and less effective, but the chief instructor never came again except for the first day. The male insects, who had figured out the female insects' routines, began to completely disobey orders.
They knew that even if the sticks were swung high, they would never fall on them.
The track was deserted, and the instructor leading the team was now only followed by a male insect, causing the instructor to frequently look back.
On a distant hillside, the guard officer handed the binoculars to Fei and commented, "That kid's not bad."
Fei took it and glanced at it a few times without saying anything. The guard officer knew that his superior agreed with what he said.
Toto's clothes were soaked with sweat, his thin shirt clung tightly to his back, and he was panting heavily. He persevered until he had completed all the training exercises before sitting down to rest.
The new, unyielding instructor finally showed a slight change in expression. As Tuotuo stood up, he reached out and helped him up, saying, "Practice hard."
He paused, then added, "The bishop will not harm you."
Large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, and the pounding of his heart pounded in his ears. Toto vaguely heard a whistle, and he looked over a beat late. The male insects that were still lying on the sand sat up and ran to the feeding area.
Meanwhile, the instructors shouted in vain through a megaphone: "We'll serve our meal when you're all in line. As for those who say the food is bad and they don't want to eat, they don't need to come and get their food now."
As Fei said, if you don't want to eat, then you don't have to eat.
Toto's legs moved slowly, and the act of walking to the food pick-up point exhausted him to the limit.
Perhaps he was too tired, the unruly expression on Toto's face faded slightly, and his brows furrowed, showing a somewhat listless and indifferent look.
Sweat dripped down his neck, soaking his clothes. He wasn't tall, but he looked healthy. His young body was thin but not weak. He stood in the line, drenched in sweat, his lips pursed. His solitary figure stood out from the other insects his age.
Suddenly, a warm feeling enveloped her as a coat, still warm from her body, was placed over her. Toto paused for a moment, then quickly snapped back to reality and tried to shake off the coat.
His shoulder-shrugging motion was stopped by a hand, which first grasped his shoulder and then patted him: "Put it on properly. The official training uniform will be issued tomorrow."
The cool aura vanished in an instant, and the familiar voice made Toto stiffen, his fingers clutching his clothes, unsure whether to throw them off or keep them on.
After hesitating for a moment, he slowly turned around. The female insect had already walked away, and he could only see a figure wearing a white vest walking away from the training base.
Bishop...
The military-style coat was very large, wrapped around Toto's body, radiating a fluffy warmth. The oversized coat made him look small, and he resembled a hedgehog with round, prickly eyes, suspiciously clutching the coat, full of wariness as if he wanted to take it off but couldn't.
The guard officer, who had been observing silently, thought that the male insect would definitely throw it away.
After all, he seemed like the type who was difficult to get along with; his deep gray eyes were so sharp that it made it clear he would never accept any favors from anyone.
But when Fei turned around, the coat was still draped over the male insect, not thrown away. When the male insect saw him turn around, it immediately turned its head away and stood with its back to him, revealing a spiky back of its head.
The guard officer looked horrified: "You came all this way just for this? You still have pity on male insects? And you're a Green Medalist? D-rank? No way? No way? Are you setting up some kind of strategy or tactic again?"
Fei shook her head slightly, offering no further explanation, and said in an official tone, "No, this is compensation for my oversight."
Most of the male insects wore thin shirts, which were soaked with sweat and could not cover anything. The guard understood what he meant, but it still did not explain why Fei had draped a shirt over him.
He nudged his boss teasingly: "I'm telling you, there are so many males in the training field, and it's not just one who's exposed."
Fei raised an eyebrow: "Among so many male insects in the training ground, only he completed all the tasks. The other male insects shed more tears than sweat."
Guard Officer: "But won't you be isolating him from the other males if you do that?"
Fei looked up at him, wondering why he would ask such a question: "Wasn't he originally isolated?"
Imperial Guard Officer: "..." That seems to be true.
But don't try to change the subject!
...
After Toto finished training, he rushed home to take care of his father. Before he could run out, the instructor in charge of the team stopped him and handed him a box. The burly female soldier said in a rough voice, "Take this."
Toto looked at the box suspiciously, unsure of what to do. He was a Green Medalist, meaning he received almost no social welfare benefits.
The female soldiers who come here to train male insects all have military merits and ranks, and at the very least, they can be matched with Class C male insects. So, it seems unusual for the other party to send him something.
Toto had no experience of being pursued or rejected. His face was filled with panic as he clutched the commander's clothes and carried a water bottle, like a hardworking miner who had suddenly collapsed a tunnel.
There was no insect to teach him what to do.
"Take it home and eat it."
Without a word, the instructor opened Toto's bag, stuffed the food inside, and said with a serious expression, "Eating only whole grain biscuits isn't enough for physical training. Take this back and train hard tomorrow."
Toto looked up at the tall instructor, bewildered. He had never received such a straightforward act of kindness before.
Seeing this, the instructor urged him, "Hurry up and go."
Toto took a few steps, then looked back. The instructors were already diligently tidying up the field. When they saw him turn around, they bumped into each other and waved to him, signaling him to hurry home.
Toto also stretched out his hand, and, afraid they wouldn't see it, he stood on tiptoe and waved it.
Carrying the things home, they started a fire. Toto walked briskly, lifted the tent flap, and saw that Xiong's father looked very flustered, as if he was hiding something. After a moment, he pretended to be calm, with a cold face.
Toto glanced instinctively at where her father hid things, but wisely refrained from asking, lest she be scolded severely.
"School's out so early today."
The father spoke first, and Toto put down his bag, slowly turned around, and nodded hesitantly.
The father's gaze swept lightly over Toto before snapping back to him.
"What's going on with this outfit?"
The father's originally calm expression suddenly turned serious, filled with shock and anger; he looked like he would vomit blood if Toto didn't explain immediately.
Toto said, "Today's training is the headmaster's."
Unexpectedly, the usually aloof and rigid male insect seemed to have been greatly stimulated, and suddenly pounced on Toto, groping him up and down with a very ugly expression.
Did he touch you? Did he bully you? Did he take your pants off?
"say!"
Toto was stiff all over; in his eighteen years of life, this was the first time he had been so close to his father.
I don't know how to describe that feeling.
The male insect had always been disdainful and indifferent to him. Even when teaching him to read, he showed no emotion. Toto had gotten used to it and even felt a little sympathy for him, thinking that his father, who couldn't do anything and could only lie in the tent every day, was pitiful.
So Toto was very sensible in front of him from a young age and would not deliberately act spoiled. Only in his imagination would his father hug him.
Toto was completely at a loss. When he came to his senses, he hugged his father with a serious expression and carefully carried him back to his original position, only secretly giving him a little more hug.
But his silence clearly hurt the male father, who turned pale with anger, his voice rising: "You're just like your female father!"
His lips trembled like butterflies as he forcefully struck Toto's arm: "Don't stay silent, don't be quiet, and don't try to hide it from me. Tell me, were you bullied?"
Toto shook his head. He didn't look prickly at all sitting on the flower carpet. Moreover, the way he stared at the male insect was vaguely like that of a child seeking praise: "No insect dares to bully me."
He paused and thought for a moment: "This is a reward."
The father seemed furious. Even after Toto explained everything from beginning to end, he showed no sign of happiness. He pinched Toto's ear and muttered with a stern face, "In short, from now on, you must stay away from that guy who puts clothes on you."
