Chapter 64
The army is about to withdraw, and Lanna will leave with the first batch of Zerg.
He arrived right on time to find Toto, trying to salvage their friendship, but the little male was determined to ignore him. So he could only pitifully squat under the fence pulling weeds. As soon as Toto went out, he immediately got up and followed behind.
Most of the male insects in the training camp were taken away to continue their studies. The rest were deemed unable to be independent and directly entered the mating system, awaiting unified allocation during the second evacuation.
Toto was originally ordered to stay on the desolate planet, but for some reason, he was suddenly allowed to study at the Alliance again, only to wait for the last batch of evacuation.
Today he went to the Broken Rock Mountain to pick chestnuts. The path there was very difficult to walk, and Lanna struggled to keep up behind him. If Toto turned around, he would immediately groan and make a pitiful face, as if he might faint on the sharp rocks at any moment.
Toto pretended not to see, but just as Lanna was about to fall, a hand quickly grabbed him.
"go back."
Toto said stiffly.
Lanna suddenly realized something, and her eyes immediately welled up with tears: "No, I'll fall if I walk back by myself!"
He wanted to continue feigning helplessness, but suddenly a deafening roar echoed through the mountains.
boom--
The earth trembled and roared, and in the blink of an eye, mountains collapsed and trees fell like rotten leaves. A crack suddenly appeared in the earth, spreading outwards like lightning to form a terrifying deep valley.
Looking out from a distance, the female soldiers who were ready to protect Lanna changed their expressions drastically: "It's an earthquake!" But before they could rush over, they were overturned by the huge tremors.
As the rocks collapsed, Toto's pupils constricted, and he grabbed Lanna, pulling him in the opposite direction: "Get out of the way!" It all happened so fast that the two insect cubs were instantly buried by the collapsing rocks after they lay down.
Ten seconds later, several female soldiers rushed over like madmen, their faces terrifying. But they were not machines and could not lift the several-ton boulder with their bare hands, and the aftershocks of the earthquake were still continuing.
"here!"
A female soldier, covered in sweat, lifted a stone, veins bulging on her forehead, but the face revealed beneath the stone greatly disappointed him.
It's not Little Blue.
"Look at his crotch!"
Another female insect spotted a wisp of golden hair peeking out from beside the native insect and frantically dug through the rubble.
Another shockwave ripped through the ground, tearing open a massive fissure. The female soldier's eyes widened in terror: "Quick! Save Little Lanna first!"
The other female hesitated: "But..."
The native insect was on top, making it easier to rescue, but after only a moment's hesitation, he gritted his teeth, released the stone he had lifted, and followed his teammates to dig to the side.
Before the next aftershock, they rescued the unconscious little Lanna.
"Quickly, send Lanner back to the starship."
What should we do with this native?
"I'll save him."
Meanwhile, Sorim was also thrown into disarray by the sudden turn of events.
He lured Agga into the ambush zone and then created a pretext for the Alliance Zerg to deploy forces nearby.
Agga was supposed to be piloting the ship he had tampered with; he would have caught up with him immediately and taken him down with him.
Solim had nothing; he couldn't even give Toto an ordinary identity. The inside man's contribution was only enough to keep him alive.
If he and Agga die together, the League will provide a large sum of compensation, enough to ensure Toto lives a good life.
Toto always thought his father was omnipotent, but Solim knew he wasn't, and he felt ashamed.
The father seemed unable to say to the little insect, "No, I can't do it." But it was the truth, just as he wanted to take off that medal but couldn't give him anything better.
Sorim hadn't expected the sudden earthquake. The chaos caused by the earthquake gave Agga, a high-level female insect, an opportunity to take advantage of the situation.
He killed the female soldier and seized a Battlewing. Its advanced weaponry was enough to kill hundreds or thousands of Zerg soldiers armed with ordinary weapons.
Agga is an arrogant freak.
Sorim heard the deep hum of the Battle Wings. After the madman took off in the Battle Wings, he didn't run away immediately. Instead, he followed the location and decisively changed direction, flying rapidly towards the ground.
A silver beam of light burst forth, its dazzling rays striking the ground and instantly evaporating over ten meters of soil, creating a deep crater.
Aggar missed his first shot. He clearly wanted to kill the Alliance Zerg before leaving to vent his anger, but the advanced weapon was too complicated to operate, and he missed his target.
The Battle Wings circled and swooped down again. Sorim was shaken so badly that his ears and nose bled. He braved the aftershocks and rushed into a spaceship. After taking off, he stared intently at the Battle Wings and rushed toward Agga at top speed.
It was just a small spaceship with little combat capability, worlds apart from sophisticated, cutting-edge weapons.
Agga probably thought the same thing. He wasted more than thirty seconds and couldn't operate the scope of the advanced weapon, so he gave up and prepared to flee.
But the sudden appearance of the small spaceship reignited his murderous intent. He turned his cannon and fired at the small spaceship, but it skillfully dodged each shot.
Damn it!
Sorim's face was gloomy. Suddenly, a voice link entered the control panel.
"Force him to the right wing, at a 34° angle. I'll count to 3, 2, 1, understand?"
Sorim was taken aback, knowing that advanced weapons would never miss. He closed his eyes slightly and said, "Yes, Commander."
"very good."
"Prepare."
“3……2……”
Without hesitation, Sorim rushed in that direction and came face to face with Agga, who was forced to turn.
Sorim closed his eyes for three seconds, but did not feel the heat of the explosion.
He suddenly opened his eyes.
1.
Aggar's battle wings collided with an invisible air wall, exploding into a dazzling white firework. There were no advanced weapon beams, only a photon barrier that had been set up beforehand.
A faint voice came from the same frequency: "Solimu, you knew where Agga was hiding all along, didn't you?"
They disembarked from the spaceship.
The other female soldiers came and went in a hurry, busy dealing with the earthquake that had just occurred. The guard officer shrugged and gave Sorim a "good luck" look.
The commander crossed his arms, and after a moment of silence, said, "You're very smart."
This statement seemed to come out of nowhere, just a casual remark, but it caused a change in Sorim's expression. He cautiously observed the commander's face, bowed slightly, and showed fear of the compliment on his face.
The commander looked up at the sky as the starship took off, his blue eyes reflecting the cold flames at the stern of the starship, making him appear exceptionally ruthless.
His eyes also reflected the face of the tall female insect. Sorim was strong and his dark gray eyes were like steel. He looked like the kind of violent maniac who could punch an insolent person until they passed out.
Fei had seen him use cold weapons on the battlefield; he was like a cruel paper shredder, completely indifferent to everything.
But a truly cold-blooded person will not be betrayed by a moment of mercy, nor will they endure torture in the interrogation room and still refuse to utter a single word.
When he was captured, the officers were sitting in the conference room, watching his interrogation. There were no screams, only the dull thuds of flesh hitting the floor when he fell to the ground.
Having gone through every method, he was like a dying bull, the suffocating collar tightening. He looked up, his dark gray eyes fixed on the interrogator, mouthing profanities.
Fei looked at Sorim's abdomen and pondered for a moment, then decided to interrogate him personally.
He went into the prison and shut down those horrific torture machines.
Sorim might want to tear Fei's face off, or tear himself apart, to wash away the terrible pain with scalding blood.
Fei grabbed his hair and forced him to watch surveillance footage of thugs robbing a starship and killing innocent passengers.
He pressed that face in front of the camera, making him look at it again and again, along with other immature female insect offspring.
Fei's tone remained consistently calm: "Have you ever seen these? Have you ever killed them with your own hands?"
What are you holding onto?
He whispered in the female insect's ear, "If you had an insect cub—and I mean if—after he became a war orphan, would the insectoids treat him the same way they treat these cubs, ripping out his guts and blowing his head off? Hmm? Would they?"
Fei didn't know what the thugs would do, but this was the first time he had heard Sorim say anything other than cursing, even if it was just a simple "No".
Fei knew his identity very well—space pirate, thug, criminal, whatever his identity was—but Fei never expected that he would actually care about a child.
He killed insects indiscriminately.
But because the little bugs started fighting, he almost cried from being scolded.
He's two-faced and a traitor.
What the little insect was told was to be loyal to and protect its friends.
Sorim was a madman, a bad seed, an outright interstellar thug, but his child was like a living piece of honey, a beautiful little teacup. On Fei's desk lay a thick stack of monitoring receipts; this female had meticulously planned this, not to defect, but to prepare for death.
Therefore, he did not remove him from the list of live insects. He appreciated the female insect's calmness and shrewdness, and he believed that she loved her child. So he was willing to give her a more suitable, more secretive, and well-paid job.
What did you say?
Sorim's tone was dry, as if Fei was saying, "I'll send you to prison," rather than, "Are you willing to go to the Bitter Star as an undercover agent?"
"Of course, this identity won't work now. To outsiders, I'll say that you heroically sacrificed yourself in the battle against Agga."
He was so surprised that he quickly realized he didn't have to die. Fei didn't think Sorim would refuse, and the female insect indeed didn't.
He looked at him with difficulty and uncertainty: "Yes, Your Excellency."
Fei was in a good mood after resolving two matters at the same time. The butler, who had been waiting for a long time, finally found an opportunity to tell him about Xiao Lanna.
He was injured, with bandages wrapped around his head. His parents, who were far away on the Imperial Star, were shocked and immediately sent a space jump via insectoid technology to bring their youngest son back to the Imperial Star.
Although the earthquake happened suddenly and was not something the insects could control, Fei's female father's pale and sour face still showed his anger at Fei's inadequate supervision. He said, "We'll talk when you come back," and then cut off the video call.
After seeing Lanna off, Fei realized he had forgotten something.
After thinking for a moment, he took a bouquet of flowers to the male insect treatment room. He knocked on the door but received no answer, so he pushed the door open.
Cold white light streamed in through the window. The little male insect had bandages wrapped around his arm and scratches all over his face. He sat on the bed, staring blankly out the window.
"Toto?"
Fei unconsciously lowered his voice. The bed was designed for female insects and was too high for male insects, making him look even smaller.
The little male insect stared motionless out the window.
Fei stood beside him, placed the fresh wild jasmine in front of the hospital bed, and fiddled with the leaves: "Come with me to the Alliance, and I'll take you to school."
This was also one of Sorim's conditions; he would protect the child.
"No."
"What?"
The young male insect covered its face, its shoulders trembling slightly.
Fei wanted to reach out and touch his shoulder, but then awkwardly remembered that he had planned the fake death, and he had forgotten about the little male's feelings in the plan.
