First Love
No matter how much Matsuda Chinatsu delayed, she still had to go downstairs and face the bleak life.
If someone else saw her in this embarrassing state today, Matsuda Chinatsu would not be so hopeless, because... according to the Japanese, Hagiwara Kenji was her first love.
Jinpei Matsuda and Kenji Hagiwara have known each other since kindergarten. They are five years older than Chinatsu Matsuda. Chinatsu Matsuda first met Kenji Hagiwara after her father had an accident. At that time, Chinatsu Matsuda was only in the fifth grade, while Jinpei Matsuda and Kenji Hagiwara were already in the first year of high school.
The father missed an important game because he was mistakenly arrested by the police. Since then, he has become addicted to alcohol. The mother, who was already at odds with him, became even more disappointed because her two children had not yet divorced.
After school every day, Chinatsu Matsuda hid in her room, not daring to listen to her parents quarreling or to see her father drunk. The thing she looked forward to most every day was her brother coming home.
That day, she walked home slowly and heard her parents arguing at the door. Her mother had finally had enough of this life: "Matsuda Jotaro! Before, you only cared about your dreams and ignored the family. I earned the money, I managed the house, and I took care of the children! All you did every day was box! Now that you've finally returned to the family, all you do is drink, drink!"
"Whoever loves me can live with me! Let's get a divorce!"
Matsuda Chinatsu was confused. Although she had expected this day to come, she still found it hard to accept hearing her mother say these words with her own ears.
Mom...don't you want her anymore?
Chinatsu Matsuda didn't know how she left home. She just ran around and when she came to her senses, she had run to an unfamiliar place.
She was very sad, but couldn't cry. She didn't want to go home, so she just walked around until the sky turned overcast and big raindrops hit her body. Then Matsuda Chinatsu found a slide in a small park to shelter from the rain.
She leaned against the wall, hugging her knees, and thought maybe her brother would find her.
I don’t know how much time passed, but amid the sound of the drizzling rain, I heard footsteps coming closer and closer. Matsuda Chinatsu raised her head from her knees and saw a young boy in school uniform running towards her in the rain. His half-long hair was wet and stuck to his face, but it didn’t affect his handsomeness at all.
She shrank back subconsciously.
The boy stopped outside the slide.
"Chinatsu, huh? I'm Kenji Hagiwara, a friend of your brother Jinpei Matsuda."
From Hagiwara Kenji's perspective, the little girl had no expression on her face and just stared at him vigilantly. He did not move forward to avoid scaring her.
He called Matsuda Jinpei: "Little Jinpei, I found my sister. She's at..."
Kenji Hagiwara stood outside the slide with his hands in his pockets, talking to himself in the rain. Even though Chinatsu Matsuda didn't say a word, he was still talking happily.
Chinatsu Matsuda was still hugging her knees, and in her peripheral vision she could see the tall and straight figure of the young man.
The late summer wind carried the boy's clear voice, leaving a mark neither light nor heavy on her heart.
Soon, Jinpei Matsuda also arrived.
Chinatsu Matsuda finally stood up and threw herself into her brother's arms, refusing to let go.
"It's okay, it's okay, don't be afraid, Chinatsu, brother is here..."
Kenji Hagiwara carried Chinatsu Matsuda's schoolbag, and Jinpei Matsuda carried his sister on his back as they went home.
Chinatsu Matsuda didn't remember when she got home because she developed a fever on the way and fell asleep in a daze.
This high fever came on fiercely, and it was after that...
Matsuda Chinatsu closed her eyes, composed herself, and went downstairs to eat.
Looking at her neatly dressed shirt and jeans, Hagiwara Kenji teased, "Chiharu-chan has grown up. Like Jinpei-chan, they're both natural clothes hangers. But I still think her pajamas were cuter."
Matsuda Chinatsu paused, a little embarrassed and annoyed: "That was forced upon me by my brother."
Hagiwara Kenji smiled and said, "Hi, hi——"
He stood up, pulled out a stool, and made a gentleman's bow: "Please take a seat."
Matsuda Jinpei came out with breakfast and kicked him as he passed by, saying in a subtle warning, "Take it easy."
Kenji Hagiwara saw a message in his eyes: Don't show off to my sister.
He shrugged helplessly. Seeing that the little girl was uncomfortable, he made a joke to ease the mood.
Compared to Jinpei Matsuda's slightly distant and sharp handsomeness, Kenji Hagiwara is more approachable. His pair of almond-shaped eyes seem to be born with a smile, and his humorous words never let the atmosphere become dull.
After the meal, the distance between us after not seeing each other for many years was immediately shortened.
The three of them began to discuss where to go for the next few days.
Matsuda Chinatsu thought for a moment and then asked first, "How long will Brother Kenji stay here?"
Hagiwara Kenji thought for a moment and said, "Let's see when Jinpei-chan comes back."
Matsuda Chinatsu's half-moon eyes: You two really are conjoined twins...
"Why are you asking this?" Jinpei Matsuda had a craving for a cigarette, so Chinatsu Matsuda stuffed a lollipop into his hand and he spoke unclearly.
"I told you about the New Year's concert."
Matsuda Chinatsu pulled out her phone and said, "If Kenji-nii comes along, I'll get another ticket."
Matsuda Jinpei narrowed his eyes and asked, "Get one?"
Chinatsu Matsuda originally wanted to ask for one, but when the words were on the tip of her tongue, she was afraid that they would think too much, so she changed her words temporarily. Who knew that this would backfire.
She had no choice but to say, "The ticket was given to me by a friend. He has connections."
Kenji Hagiwara looked at the brother and sister and felt that they were playing a game of charades.
Seeing the two of them fall silent, he said, "Chiharu-chan is also a fast typist. Is she as good at handicrafts as Jinpei-chan?"
Matsuda Chinatsu paused, "Well...about the same."
Jinpei Matsuda rolled his eyes.
This girl has learned this purely through studying computers. In fact, she types faster than him.
At this moment, there was a rustling noise at the door, as if some small animal was scratching the door.
Matsuda Chinatsu suddenly looked up: No way...
She stood up and opened the door. A black cat was sitting upright at the door with a New Year's concert ticket in its mouth.
Chinatsu Matsuda/Jinpei Matsuda/Kenji Hagihara:…
Three faces confused.
After delivering the things, the black cat meowed politely, as if to greet her, and then walked away leisurely with its elegant cat steps.
Matsuda Chinatsu didn't dare to look back, as the gaze from behind her seemed to be a thorn in her back.
——For some reason, she always felt a little guilty about Tsukuyomi Jito.
Hagiwara Kenji also noticed that the atmosphere was not right and tried to ease the situation: "Cats nowadays are quite smart."
Matsuda Jinpei said with a half-smile: "Yes, there are wild cats everywhere now."
Hagiwara Kenji: I don’t think his original words were like this…
Matsuda Chinatsu held the ticket in her hand, and in her heart she wished she could tear a certain stray cat into pieces.
Matsuda Jinpei snatched the ticket from her hand, stared at a certain spot, and recited word for word: "Resurrection Society, Hoshina Uta."
Matsuda Chinatsu took a deep breath and said, "I'm just bored, can't I mind my own business?"
Matsuda Jinpei looked at her with a slight scrutiny.
After a while, he suddenly asked a seemingly irrelevant question: "Does he live nearby?"
"next door."
"How did you become so familiar with each other?"
"My deskmate."
Jinpei Matsuda gritted his teeth.
Logically, he should be happy that Matsuda Chinatsu finally broke away from that seemingly gentle but actually uninterested state of being around everyone and anything. But for some reason, he just couldn't stand that kid.
Look at that guy's attitude last night. He didn't even look at him the whole time.
Today I specially took the opportunity of giving away tickets to show my presence...
Matsuda Jinpei dares to use Hagiwara Kenji's reputation as a "friend of women" to guarantee that Tsukuei Jito definitely has bad intentions!
