Chapter 128 Drama Girl 15

"Senior, do you have any dietary restrictions? I'll talk to the B&B owner later."

"No."

"OK."

Meng Manxing nodded.

"Then, senior, you can rest in the room for a while. I will take care of the rest. I will ensure that the dinner this afternoon will be delicious!"

After saying this, Meng Manxing left the room and went downstairs to the kitchen to tell the aunt who worked at the B&B first.

Then she looked up at the closed door on the second floor and left the B&B cautiously.

Ji Jialin, who was standing at the second-floor window, dodged behind the wall when Meng Manxing looked over. He frowned slightly as he watched Meng Manxing sneaking out of the B&B.

What is she doing?

Meng Manxing sneaked out and went to an empty tree to call his mother in the village.

"Hello, Mom."

"Well, what happened to the stars?"

A powerful female voice came from the phone.

"Mom, I have some extracurricular homework at school, so I won't be back this weekend. Please ask Uncle Luo to deliver the medicine to town for me. I'll pick it up there tomorrow morning."

"There's something going on at school. Xingxingxing, study hard. Mom will prepare it for you right away."

When Meng Mu heard this, she frowned worriedly, calculated the time and added.

"Xingxing hasn't had any accidents these days, right?"

"No, Mom, I'll just get the medicine tomorrow."

Seeing that her mother was worried, Meng Manxing said a few words to comfort her before hanging up the phone.

I went to the store across the street and bought two bottles of iced water. I walked out of the store, took off my mask and took a big sip.

I walked quickly towards the B&B, not noticing that there were familiar people sitting on a bus passing by in the distance.

Xiaohu from the same village was shopping with his mother and preparing to return to the village. When he saw Meng Manxing through the window, Xiaohu waved to Meng Manxing excitedly.

Unfortunately, the car had already gone far away and Meng Manxing didn't hear Xiaohu calling her.

This made Meng Manxing, who was standing behind him, very upset. How could he be seen by his fellow villagers?

After returning to the B&B, Meng Manxing stretched his back feeling a little tired. The weather in Lingcheng was really hot in summer.

She fanned herself with her hands and returned to her room. She put one of the bottles of water on Ji Jialin's bedside table and lay down on the bed to rest.

Ji Jialin, who was standing by, opened his eyes suddenly after Meng Manxing lay down. His obsidian eyes stared at the ceiling for a while and then quickly closed again.

The banyan tree outside the window rustled in the wind, and the occasional breeze blew into the house, relieving the heat inside.

It was rare for Ji Jialin to fall asleep in the same room with a stranger.

Both of them slept very comfortably, and it was almost time for dinner when they woke up.

Meng Manxing had just gotten up and was enjoying the cool air under the grape trellis downstairs with Ji Jialin for a few minutes when her old cell phone suddenly rang.

She looked at the caller ID of Meng Mu and felt inexplicably nervous.

"Hey, Mom, what do you want from me?"

She asked in confusion.

"What do you think? Meng Manxing, you've grown up!"

Meng Manxing had a bad feeling when he heard this.

"You've already learned to lie at such a young age. Aren't you already in town? I'm worried that the medicine won't arrive in time tomorrow, so I'm asking Uncle Luo to make a trip tonight. Xingxing, have you forgotten what your mother taught you since you were a child?"

While waiting for the call to be connected, Meng's mother was talking angrily. Her voice was so loud that Meng Manxing could hear it even when he held the phone away from his ear.

Ji Jialin, who was sitting on a chair eating grapes, blinked and silently looked at Meng Manxing who was eating melon.

Seeing that Ji Jialin was still there, Meng Manxing quickly went outside with the phone.

"Mom, don't be angry. Listen to me, things are not what you think! I really have something to do and can't go back to the village. I have a classmate who helps me a lot at school, so I wanted to invite him to dinner here this weekend. I will get the medicine tomorrow and go back to school with him. I am not lying."

"Real stars?"

"Really, Mom, I swear!"

Meng Manxing saw that her mother was almost exhausted and quickly hugged her to make sure.

"You! Just tell me about these things directly. Mom won't blame you. It's good to make friends, but you can't tell anyone about those things."

As Meng Mu spoke, she spoke with a warning.

"Yeah, mom, don't worry, I know."

Meng Manxing nodded, but wanted to refute in her heart.

What if my classmate is a boy? Her mother will definitely kill me.

Ever since her mother divorced, she has been afraid that she would fall in love too early and has always told her to stay away from anyone since she was a child.

"Xingxing, since you and your classmates are in town, hurry up and take the bus back. Your grandma hasn't seen you for a week. Yesterday she was wondering why her granddaughter hadn't come back yet."

Meng Mu's anger came and went quickly, and she quickly planned in her mind how to treat Meng Manxing.

Although her daughter has excellent grades, she rarely makes friends. Now that she has finally found a friend in college, she must maintain the friendship.

When Meng Manxing heard this, she wanted to refuse, but after hearing what came next, she couldn't bear to refuse.

Her grandmother had always been kind to her, the one who comforted her when her mother was strict.

She couldn't refuse.

She looked at Meng Mu who was waiting for her response and explained in a low voice.

"Mom, is it okay if the other person is a male classmate?"

"A male classmate? That's even better. Mom and your grandma will check for you so you don't run into a coward like your dad."

This time, Meng's mother did not try to stop it like she did when Meng Manxing was a child, and she was even happy to meet the boy.

"Mom, I have nothing to do with him. It's just that he helped me a lot, so I invited him to dinner."

Meng Manxing listened to her mother's gossipy tone and explained helplessly.

She didn't explain because she didn't want her mother to think too much, but she didn't know how it was exposed to Meng Mu.

"Oh, Xingxing has to bring your classmates back tonight. Your grandma really wants to see you make friends. Just think of this as comforting her. Remember to be back before dinner."

Seeing that her mother insisted, Meng Manxing had no choice but to compromise.

"Then mom, I'll ask my classmate. If he doesn't want to go, I'll go back by myself."

The two chatted briefly for a while before hanging up the phone.

Meng Manxing saw that the phone was hung up. Just as she was trying to find an excuse to send Ji Jialin away, she saw him standing at the door of the B&B, eating grapes and looking at him for who knows how long.

"I'd love to go."

Ji Jialin looked at Meng Manxing's conflicted expression and had no idea what she was thinking.

There is no danger here, just treat it as a trip.

Meng Manxing looked at Ji Jialin who had listened to the entire conversation and wanted to punch him in the heart, but he could only smile and speak.

"Senior, transportation to the village is inconvenient. If you go there, you can only return to school on Monday."

After she finished speaking, she repeated in her mind ten thousand times, "Reject it! Reject it!"

Unfortunately, Ji Jialin did not hear Meng Manxing's inner prayer and quickly nodded in agreement.

"I have no objection."

Damn!

"Then let's go back to the B&B and eat first, so we can get back just in time for dinner."

“My mother cooks delicious food.”

At this point, Meng Manxing quickly put aside his worries and started talking excitedly.

"Well, my pleasure."
