Min Manxing staggered as he was pulled, and wanted to say something else, but seeing that they were already out, he could only stop asking.
"Wei Xing, please walk slower."
She looked at Wei Xing's long legs and complained softly.
"Uh-huh."
Wei Xing slowed down his pace as he spoke. He looked at Min Manxing, who was wrapped like a dumpling beside him and didn't notice that he was holding her wrist.
While looking away, he gave a shameless smirk.
Little did they know that Min Manxing, who always hated people getting close to him, could not have failed to notice the touch.
It's just that everyone has their own little thoughts.
Min Manxing buried her face in her scarf, and with her eyelashes drooped, she glanced at the big hand that was holding her tightly. Then she slowly moved her eyes upwards and secretly glanced at Wei Xing's angular profile.
She looked at Wei Xing, who looked so handsome even in a simple black down jacket, and couldn't help but be infatuated with him for a moment.
They are friends, so it's reasonable for them to pull each other's wrists, right?
She secretly convinced herself in her heart and followed Wei Xing's footsteps silently without saying much.
Soon we arrived at the street where we parted.
"Wei Xing, my home is in that alley, you don't have to send me off."
She pretended to react and slowly raised her hand to point into the distance.
"That won't work. It's so dark now. I'll walk you to the door."
Wei Xing looked at the hesitant Min Manxing and retorted in a serious tone.
"Manxing, we are friends, right? You should trust me."
When Min Manxing heard Wei Xing's disappointed words, he quickly waved his hands to explain.
"No, no, I didn't mean that. My house is a bit messy and I'm afraid you'd dislike it."
She didn't want Wei Xing to misunderstand her, so she lowered her head and spoke out her inferiority complex in a reserved manner.
Wei Xing looked at Min Manxing who had retreated into her shell again, rubbed his hands in front of her, and then covered her cheeks as she looked at him with increasingly puzzled eyes.
"Min Manxing, are you friends with me because I'm rich?"
Min Manxing's face was squeezed so tightly that she couldn't speak. She looked at the serious Wei Xing and didn't dare to delay, so she quickly shook her head.
"That's right. I don't make friends with someone just because he has money. I'm friends with you because I like you."
Min Manxing didn't hear anything, she just heard the three words "I like you".
Swish! Her cheeks suddenly turned red.
Wei Xing felt the heat coming from his hand, and looking at Min Manxing's shining eyes, he suddenly felt panicked and quickly withdrew his hand.
He raised his hand to cover his mouth, coughed lightly, and looked into the distance.
"So don't feel inferior. I'm not that rich. I'm just worried about your safety."
Min Manxing looked at the unnatural Wei Xing and rubbed his face with his hand.
"I understand, Wei Xing. Let's go and go back early."
She didn't understand why Wei Xing squeezed her face just now. Maybe it was a greeting between friends?
Wei Xing, who was following beside her, saw that Min Manxing did not pursue his crossing the line, so he quietly raised his hand and snapped his fingers at himself while she was not paying attention.
What the hell! What if I scare the little mushroom?
Min Manxing heard the crisp sound of bullets and turned around in confusion.
Then she saw Wei Xing smiling at her with a shocked look on his face.
She didn't notice anything wrong, glanced at his slightly red forehead in confusion, then turned around and continued leading the way.
In the end, Wei Xing only sent Min Manxing to the gate of the compound.
"Okay, my home is inside. Wei Xing, you should go back quickly too. It's getting colder."
"Okay, see you on Monday, Manxing."
He looked at Min Manxing standing at the gate and waved his hand.
"See Wei Xing on Monday."
Min Manxing hated the sadness of parting, so he quickly closed the door after saying that.
She didn't know whether Wei Xing left immediately, but she was too embarrassed to open the door.
Finally, he stood there for a while before turning around and walking towards his rental house.
She looked up at the four-story courtyard and found that every household had lights on, except her own, which was pitch black.
She listened to the occasional sounds coming from these cozy houses into the yard, silently pursed her lips and quickened her pace.
She was afraid of meeting her neighbors.
Fortunately, she lived on the first floor, so she could get back home quickly.
Only after closing the door did Min Manxing's tense nerves relax.
She turned on the small lamp and sat on the bed, smiling foolishly for a while.
She thought of every little detail of her time with Wei Xing.
She found that this weekend was the happiest day she had had in all the time she had been in this city.
So when the two of them were in school, they would go home together at night to do their homework. Occasionally, Min Manxing would stay at Wei Xing's house to watch movies on weekends, but most of the time she was alone.
As winter approaches, the weather is getting colder.
Min Manxing's small house did not have heating. When she found that it was too cold at night, she simply bought an extra quilt and stayed in bed to read when she didn't have to go to school.
Perhaps because it was too cold, the students in the school were much more well-behaved.
Min Manxing spent the first semester of his freshman year in high school in a dull and strange atmosphere in the classroom.
Winter vacation is here in a blink of an eye.
The results of the final exam will not be available until the day after the holiday.
Although the classmates did not communicate with Min Manxing, they still felt a little admiration for her after seeing her grades.
As soon as Min Manxing arrived in the classroom, she found that all her classmates were looking at her.
She looked at those dark features, lowered her head, and quickly walked to her seat.
Unfortunately, their class had an odd number of students, and she was the last student to arrive, so she had no deskmate.
When she sat down, she looked at the report card on the table and found that she was still the top student in the grade. A smile appeared on her calm face for a moment.
She has no other advantages, the only thing she has is her good study skills, which she must grasp firmly.
Otherwise she really didn't know what else she could do.
As long as she studies well, the teacher will like her and her classmates will not look down on her.
Although she was in Class 1, her score was still more than 30 points higher than the second place.
After finally waiting for school to be over, she couldn't wait to leave the school and head straight for the agreed place with Wei Xing.
She was very curious about Wei Xing's grades.
I don’t know how Wei Xing did it.
Anyway, most of the time this semester, Min Manxing arrived and he was already waiting there.
Min Manxing ran closer with red cheeks and looked at Wei Xing who was standing next to a big tree in front of her.
She looked at his back, her eyebrows gradually curved into small crescents.
It felt like someone would always be waiting for her...always caring about her.
For the first time, she felt the kindness of a stranger from Wei Xing.
"Hey!"
It was rare for her to be a little playful. After getting closer, she didn't say anything in a hurry. Instead, she tiptoed to Wei Xing's back and patted him hard.
Wei Xing, who was originally unhappy about being touched, frowned when he heard Min Manxing's voice.
"Manxing, you're trying to scare people with the noise you're making."
He turned back without any panic.
"I'll teach you, do it this way next time."
As he spoke, he bent down, moved closer to Min Manxing, and opened his mouth to shout exaggeratedly.
"roar!"
“…”
Min Manxing looked at those amber eyes and Wei Xing who was coaxing him like a child, and took a half step back to hide his uneasiness.
“Not scary at all.”
She retorted stubbornly and quickly turned her head to look into the distance.
