☆43. Chapter 43: Secret Door

Chapter 43: Secret Door

Qian Youliang didn't know why he was the only one who saw the glass lamp, but he could sense the suspicion in Zong Hao's eyes.

"Are you suspecting me of lying?!"

But unexpectedly, after a while, the other party suddenly asked:

"Do you know where all the glass lamps are in the world today?"

Qian Youliang was slightly stunned and blurted out: "How should I know? It's nothing but the Western Regions."

But Zong Hao said in a strange and chilling tone:

"Even in the Western Regions, where the colored glaze cups are produced, only two have been successfully made. And these two cups were presented to the current emperor as tribute ten years ago."

Qian Youliang's heart skipped a beat when he heard this. How could it be possible? He definitely couldn't have been wrong that day. Could it be that they had stolen the glass lamp from the palace?

Qian Youliang just thought of this possibility and thought that there was a way to punish Liang Jianwei and others. However, before he could open his mouth, he heard Zong Hao continue:

"And the current emperor gifted this pair of glass cups to His Royal Highness the current Crown Prince ten years ago."

Qian Youliang was so surprised that he was speechless. Could it be that this glass cup was not stolen from the emperor, but from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince?

That's not right. Didn't they say that the mysterious gentleman was given an official title just because he presented a glass cup as tribute to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince?

At this time, Qian Youliang still believed in the existence of this mysterious adult who suddenly appeared and disappeared, but he didn't expect that this matter was a scam from beginning to end.

"This... shouldn't be the case. Since Your Highness the Crown Prince already has the Glazed Lamp, why would he still..."

Seeing Qian Youliang's behavior, Zong Hao immediately showed disgust. "Foolish! You were deceived by the prefect and Duke Zheng in collusion, and you still can't figure it out?"

Qian Youliang was struck by lightning. "But that glass lamp is real! Even if I was deceived by them, they will definitely be punished by His Highness the Crown Prince!"

Hearing this, Zong Hao looked at Qian Youliang with a gloomy look in his eyes: "You went to the prefect's villa, did you see any unfamiliar faces beside the prefect?"

Qian Youliang was immersed in his own imagination, shaking his head absentmindedly.

"So, you didn't frame me in all this?"

Zong Hao, however, showed a mocking expression: "If I'm going to frame you, why not just connect you with this imaginary master? Otherwise, how can I be sure you won't fall for it?"

Qian Youliang thought about it and felt that what Zong Hao said made sense. But then he said angrily, "Who was the one who lied to me?"

Who would have thought that the person opposite him did not intend to answer him, but only confirmed again: "Are you sure you really saw the glass lamp in the prefect's villa?"

After getting Qian Youliang's confirmation, Zong Hao narrowed his eyes, then looked at Qian Youliang with a strange smile:

"If you want revenge, I can help you. I just need you to come with me to see someone."

Qian Youliang was stunned. Who was he meeting? However, remembering the heavy losses he had suffered this time, Qian Youliang agreed without hesitation.

Qian Youliang didn't expect that as soon as he agreed, he was suddenly hit by a club from behind.

Seeing Qian Youliang fainting on the ground, Zong Hao's expression changed instantly. He said to his confidants behind him: "Take him with you. We'll deal with the others."

This treatment naturally means leaving no one alive.

However, despite such a bloody act, the expressions of his subordinates who were receiving orders behind him did not change at all, as if they had done something like this thousands of times.

Upon learning that none of the people who broke into Zong Hao's house came out, Duke Zheng and his entourage felt very troubled.

This Zong Hao is indeed not an ordinary person. Even if dozens of people fight, the sound can be heard.

But when he went to the ancestral house again, it was like a stone dropped into the sea. The whole house was still quiet, and there was no sound of any quarreling.

What Duke Zheng and his companions didn't know was that Zong Hao had already taken the unconscious Qian Youliang away from the secret underground passage in the house.

An hour later, Zong Hao brought Qian Youliang to a dilapidated temple on the outskirts of Liangcheng.

After contacting the monks in the temple, Zong Hao and the unconscious Qian Youliang were taken to the dark room of the temple.

The dim candlelight and a huge black screen divided the dark room into two spaces.

On this side was Zong Hao and Qian Youliang, who was still unconscious under his feet. On the other side of the screen, only a black human silhouette was visible.

Judging from his stature, he should be a man. He was sitting on a tall chair with a large cloak covering his face.

There was a person squatting on each side of the man's thighs.

Zong Hao seemed to be accustomed to everything. He kicked Qian Youliang, who was lying on the ground like a dead dog, and said casually:

"It was him who said he saw the glass cup in the prefect's villa a few days ago. Isn't the glass cup in the hands of the prince?"

But a muffled male voice came from the other side: "The prince is on his way to Liangcheng and his whereabouts are unknown."

"Oh? There's something else that you secret door guys don't know? That's really strange."

"Wake him up."

The only response Zong Hao received was a cold voice from the other side.

Zong Hao narrowed his eyes slightly, thought for a moment and said, "Why? I brought the person here, shouldn't I take care of my business first?"

"Stop talking nonsense. If you don't do as I say, you won't be able to leave today."

Zong Hao never expected that when he confirmed the news for his master, he would be robbed by the people from the secret door.

"I'm warning you not to act rashly. If you affect my master's plans, yours will also be implicated!"

In response to Zong Hao, the other side's silence showed that they did not take him seriously at all.

Under secret hatred, Zong Hao had no choice but to feed Qian Youliang the antidote.

A single blow to the head naturally couldn't make someone unconscious for so long, so on the way back, he also fed Qian Youliang some sleeping pills.

After a while, Qian Youliang slowly woke up. Regardless of the pain in his head, he found himself in a very strange and unfamiliar space.

"You saw the glass lamp in the prefect's villa. Is this true?"

Before Qian Youliang could figure out the situation, he heard a questioning voice coming from behind the screen.

When Qian Youliang heard the voice, his hair stood on end and cold sweat began to appear on his forehead.

"Zong...Zong Hao, who is behind the screen?"

Zong Hao had a cold face and looked at Qian Youliang as if he was looking at a dead object instead of a person.

"Answer whatever he asks you, otherwise I can't save you."

This cold tone made Qian Youliang's back shiver, and he replied with a trembling voice:

"Yes, I did see it."

Then two people wearing white masks walked out from behind the screen, each holding a scroll of portrait in their hands.

"Have you seen the man above recently?"

Qian Youliang glanced at the people in the portraits. One was a young man with a handsome and elegant figure, while the other had a cold expression and was dressed in black.

"I have never seen these two people."

Zong Hao frowned, and sure enough, the next second, one of the people holding the portrait walked behind Qian Youliang and instantly grabbed his neck, while the other person stuffed something into his mouth.
