Chapter 73 I am you

After watching for a while, Xia Wenxi asked the staff member next to her, half-jokingly and half-seriously:

"Teacher Zhao, may I walk around here? I want to see if I can remember anything from my childhood."

"Of course, please feel free to do as you please."

After nodding her thanks, Xia Wenxi left the playground, searching her mind for the few remaining fragments of memory as she walked.

Nearly twenty years have passed, and many of the facilities here have been renovated. Xia Wenxi walked for a while but did not see any place that felt familiar to her.

Just as Xia Wenxi was thinking about asking a staff member, someone called her.

I turned around and saw a smiling face.

"Senior Xia Wenxi!"

"Hello, senior! I didn't expect to see you here today. Do you remember me?"

Since the other party meant no harm, Xia Wenxi felt embarrassed to ignore them, so she nodded and said, "I know, you are also a student at Fan University."

Lu Hao was slightly frustrated when he didn't hear the words "I remember you" from his senior, but he quickly cheered up and said, "Senior, where do you want to go? I often come here to do volunteer work! I'm very familiar with this place."

After Lu Hao finished speaking, he mentally gave himself a thumbs up.

The senior student must think she's very kind-hearted!

Xia Wenxi said frankly, "I spent some time here when I was a child, and I wanted to see if I could still see some familiar places, but it looks like many places have been renovated."

A familiar place...

Lu Hao then began to recall the places he had visited before.

Xia Wenxi was about to leave to ask Teacher Zhao, who had spoken earlier, when she was stopped by Lu Hao's excited voice.

"I know you, senior! I know a place that's never been repaired. When I played hide-and-seek with the kids here before, one of them helped me hide."

"Let me take you there, senior."

On the way there, Lu Hao, perhaps wanting to make a good impression on his goddess, told Xia Wenxi almost everything he knew about "He Miao's Home".

"Senior, I heard from the teachers here that Hengyuan Group donates to Hemiao Home every year. The conditions here are so good, thanks to the kind-hearted people! We've arrived, this is the place."

This place looks like it used to be where children played and had activities; you can still see some faded recreational equipment inside.

Perhaps fearing safety hazards for children playing here, the swing seats have been removed, leaving only two rusty chains hanging in place.

This place was probably left unused because the orphanage later expanded its playground.

Perhaps it hasn't been renovated yet, or perhaps it's been temporarily forgotten in a corner; in any case, it has been preserved.

"Thank you for bringing me here. I'd like to stay here by myself for a while. Thank you for your help."

"No, no, no, it's no trouble at all. I won't bother you any longer, senior."

The young man waved his hand and backed away, stumbling and falling, which terrified Xia Wenxi.

After everyone had left safely, Xia Wenxi approached and carefully examined the area.

"You're mute! I don't want to play with you."

Xia Wenxi walked to the original location of the swing and suddenly saw the scene from back then.

A small, thin girl stood on the edge of the swing, watching the older children playing around her with envy.

"DouDou, come here!"

She saw the little girl turn around, take a small step and walk out, her big eyes looking at the person who came.

"Come with your teacher. Your parents are coming to pick you up today, okay?"

"When you see them later, call them Mom and Dad, and then you'll have people who love you."

Unfortunately, no matter what the teacher said, the little girl just blinked and didn't say anything.

Seeing this, the teacher sighed, picked up the little girl, and murmured softly, "Luckily she's pretty, otherwise it wouldn't be good if she didn't have a sweet tongue."

“Mr. Xia, Mrs. Xia, Dou Dou is a little timid and doesn’t like to talk, but she is definitely a healthy child, so please don’t worry.”

"We know that, and please rest assured, Teacher Wu, we will take good care of Dou Dou."

The tall, handsome gentleman and the gentle, beautiful wife looked like an unreal scene.

They slowly squatted down and whispered, "Dou Dou, you're going home with Mommy and Daddy today, okay? There's an older brother at home, but he went to school today and can't pick you up. You can play with your brother when you get home, okay?"

"No, honey, have you forgotten? DouDou has a new name, WenXi."

Xia Wenxi stood there blankly, tears streaming down her face onto the rough cement ground.

She opened her mouth and tasted the salty flavor.

"So, I was you all along..."

Xia Wenxi stayed for a while, and when she went out again, apart from a little redness in the corner of her eye, there was nothing abnormal about her.

Following her original plan, Xia Wenxi donated a sum of money in the name of Hengyuan Group before preparing to leave.

"Ms. Xia, thank you for your kindness."

"It's my pleasure, thank you, Dean Wu."

Thanks.

After leaving the dean's office, Xia Wenxi intended to leave directly. However, as she passed the activity room, she saw the younger students wearing red vests and suddenly had a new idea.

...

"Haozi! What are you laughing at? Your goddess has already gone far away. I just saw you two taking out your phones. Did you add each other on WeChat?"

"Hehe, no."

"What are you laughing at? It's creepy." My friend rubbed his arms and decided to stay away from him.
