Chapter 504 You're Not Wrong

When Ji Feiyue was mentioned, both Fu Muqian and Wei Shengxi felt a pang of sympathy for Hua Yueli.

"Did you tell Ziyan?" With Ji Feiyue around, Wei Shengxi believed that Hua Yueli would be fine.

That's Ji Feiyue.

Fu Muqian shrugged. "We haven't had time yet. Shouldn't Fuyun Island be having a ball right now? It's not convenient for Ziyan to go either." His tone was somewhat nonchalant.

"No, Ziyan and Fifth Master are both back. I'm watching the dance performance of 'Listen to the Wind' with Fifth Master. As for Ziyan, Senior Huayin came over. He must have something to say to Ziyan."

Wei Shengxi explained it clearly in just a few words.

"You mean Ziyan and Master Shen left early?" Fu Muqian frowned, looking puzzled, but then understood. "That makes sense. It would be strange if Master Shen could accept those things at the Fuyun Island auction."

As for breaking the rules, that's even more normal for Ziyan.

“Ning Xiao has ‘created’ a ‘merman’.” Although Wei Shengxi did not attend the auction, he was familiar with the items up for auction.

"The news shouldn't have leaked out of Fuyun Island, but I estimate that with the creation of a perfect 'merman,' quite a few people must have been persecuted. You should arrange the handover work on your end."

"As for medicines, the He Shou Wu Research Institute should have plenty, and the Wei Sheng family has some as well, so there's no need to rush."

"The way you're saying this sounds like you're making your final arrangements," Fu Muqian said with a hint of joking. "Anyway, we'll have to wait until you guys come back from Fuyun Island to deal with it. You and Zimo are enough for this kind of thing; an outsider like me won't get involved."

Wei Shengxi's gaze toward Fu Muqian was so gentle, his blue eyes like the deepest lake, as bright as the moon, and like the dawn, sparkling with rays of light.

"I'll leave this to Zimo. I need to get some rest when I get back." Wei Shengxi smiled, her eyes crinkling. "By the way, I ordered an outfit for you from a shop a while ago. You'll be attending the election, right? It should look good on you. I expect it will be delivered to your residence in a few days."

It's perfectly normal for the two of them to buy clothes for each other.

Many of Wei Shengxi's clothes were picked out by Fu Muqian, and even the clothes he wore on his coming-of-age ceremony were chosen by Fu Muqian.

Wei Shengxi also selected many clothes for Fu Muqian. Fu Muqian's few light-colored robes were all chosen by Wei Shengxi.

So Fu Muqian wasn't surprised at all by Wei Shengxi's words. "Okay, I was just planning to go to Jinxiu Pavilion to order a set," he replied, as usual.

"You didn't even ask me what style I ordered for you. Aren't you afraid you'll embarrass yourself on that important occasion?" Wei Shengxi couldn't help but chuckle, a faint smile playing on her lips, but her eyes brimming with laughter.

Seeing him smile like that, Fu Muqian couldn't help but smile as well. "You chose it, what do I have to be afraid of?"

"Your judgment, Young Master Xi, could be wrong?"

"Besides, if there really is a mistake, I will take you to the event and tell everyone that this robe was specially made for me by Young Master Xi."

"Let's see who makes a fool of themselves then."

Every word was a joke, yet every sentence was sincere.

"Then let's forget about it," Wei Shengxi seemed unusually happy today. "I made some lotus flower pastries today, and they tasted pretty good, even Fifth Master can stomach them."

It's like sharing, and it's also like guiding.

"What? You only made it after we went to Fuyun Island? I've never seen you make it for me before?" Fu Muqian frowned, his tone tinged with grievance.

If his subordinates saw this young military major general, who was over 1.9 meters tall, looking like this, they would be utterly astonished.

"Stop joking," Wei Shengxi could tell that he was putting on an act. "Someone was sent back to the capital, but it probably won't taste as good as when it was first made."

Fu Muqian's expression softened considerably. "It's alright, you can make it for me when you get back to the capital."

"Wait a minute," Fu Muqian looked Wei Shengxi up and down, his expression darkening further.

Wei Shengxi was a little confused. What was he throwing a tantrum about? "What's wrong? Why do you look so pale?"

"You went into the kitchen?" The voice was icy.

"With your body, you're going to the kitchen?!"

"You also make pastries?"

"What kind of fancy pastries do you need to make? Isn't there a dessert shop called Su Shan on Fuyun Island?"

"What kind of pastries don't you have?"

"Still lotus flower pastry?"

Who is it for?

"Is it microscopic?"

A barrage of questions followed, and when Wei Shengsui was mentioned, his tone became incredibly cold.

Fu Muqian knew that Wei Shengsui really liked lotus flower pastries, but that was because Flanda liked lotus flower pastries and also liked to make them.

“Ziqian,” Wei Shengxi said with a hint of helplessness, “that’s my father.”

"No matter what, he is my father."

Call him a saint or call him blindly filial.

That's his father.

He was the father from whom he had longed for a sliver of paternal love for over twenty years.

Fu Muqian didn't speak, but just stared at him with a gloomy face.

Fu Muqian had shown his strong killing intent towards Wei Shengsui in front of Wei Shengxi a long, long time ago.

"Ziqian," Wei Shengxi said, seemingly helplessly, her blue eyes staring straight at him, "please don't make things difficult for me, okay?"

Fu Muqian sighed, "Never mind, if you want to make these pastries, we can make them together when we get back."

"Although modern kitchens are very smart, it's still better for you to spend less time in the kitchen."

"I understand." Wei Shengxi's eyes were fixed on him. "Ziqian, I'm so nervous. The medical exchange conference is in a few days."

"Facing my father directly, I..." Wei Shengxi seemed to be seeking advice, or perhaps explaining his troubles, "Especially when it comes to openly opposing him, Ziqian, I still don't know what to do."

"Actually, when I was young, he was very good to me, but... mostly when he was giving me injections or drawing blood samples."

Fu Muqian didn't speak; at this moment, all he needed to do was be a good listener.

"To be honest, I can't hate him. My mother's death was related to me."

“Sometimes I can’t even stop myself from thinking about whether my mother would have survived if she hadn’t been pregnant with me.”

Even though I know it's something I can't control, I just can't stop thinking about it.

“You’re not wrong,” Fu Muqian always told Wei Shengxi firmly whenever the topic came up. “Your mother loves you very much. She named you ‘Xi,’ which means optimistic and bright future. She loves you very much.”

"He's the one who's wrong. He's too stubborn. You're not wrong, Zixi."

Screw the idea that being born is a sin. That statement might apply to anyone, but it just doesn't apply to Zixi!
