Chapter 23

Chapter 23

The day after the first meeting, Shi Xuze received Yao Yingmo's suggestions for revisions to the script.

At that time, he had just finished recording in a studio outside and was on his way home. After receiving the message, he hurriedly transferred the file to Luo Jiayou, turned the steering wheel and drove towards Xinren Studio.

Luo Jiayou has printed out Yao Yingmo's opinions and made some notes on them.

Xiao Su also had a copy, and held a pen in his hand. He listened to Luo Jiayou's analysis very carefully and wrote down all the contents.

Shi Xuze stood at the door and watched for a while. After the two of them finished talking, he raised his hand and knocked on the door twice. "Can you two come in?"

Only then did the two of them notice his arrival.

Xiao Su reacted quickly, pushing his chair back and standing up. "Of course, Teacher Huguang, would you like throat tea or hot water? I'll pour it for you."

Shi Xuze didn't bother to be polite with him. He pulled out a chair and sat down. "Throat-soothing tea, please."

Xiao Su responded and trotted away.

Luo Jiayou took out another printed opinion, "Yours."

"Thank you, I knew you understood me."

Luo Jiayou hummed, "You saw that Xiao Su and I just read Teacher Zhaohe's opinion together. It's not difficult to revise it. Do you want me to make a revised version in the next two days? I can directly project the revised version to the screen at the next meeting."

"OK."

After the two of them finished discussing it, Luo Jia casually mentioned, "Aren't you planning on meeting Teacher Zhao He?"

Shi Xuze did not expect this question.

"I haven't thought about it yet."

He thought about it for a while but couldn't come up with an answer, so he had to speak out what was bothering him.

"I actually really want to meet him, but I'm worried that Mr. Zhaohe will hate me, so I don't dare to do it."

"Just think about what kind of person I was in front of her when I was her neighbor. I ate and drank for free, fell asleep, and fainted all the time. I was so unreliable."

"Think about my image as Hu Guang. At least I'm capable."

"If Teacher Zhaohe knew that I was her neighbor, would she immediately lose confidence in me and want to revoke the authorization for Mantianxing?"

Luo Jiayou felt that he was worrying too much, "I don't think so."

He obviously didn't know much more about Teacher Zhaohe than Shi Xuze, a long-time fan of his book, and he couldn't possibly know much more about Yao Yingmo than Shi Xuze, his neighbor himself.

But in order to write a good script, he also studied Teacher Zhaohe's writings in depth and did some analysis of her. In addition to his observations during meetings and discussions, he felt that he still had some say.

Anyone who can write such healing and gentle words must have a soft heart. Even if they are stunned for a moment, they will most likely not react emotionally.

From Shi Xuze's descriptions of Yao Yingmo, he seemed capable, reliable, and attentive. Such a person would obviously not make decisions that would affect the contract simply because he knew his neighbor's true identity.

No matter from which identity she looks at it, what Shi Xuze is worried about will never happen.

"You think too much." Luo Jiayou said.

Shi Xuze hummed, still looking unconvinced.

Since Shi Xuze wouldn't listen, Luo Jiayou simply agreed with him and said, "Then just don't let Teacher Zhaohe know and everything will be fine."

Anyway, he felt that the result would not be much different whether he said it or not.

But after Luo Jiayou said this, Shi Xuze hesitated again. He didn't want to endure not recognizing Yao Yingmo forever.

Shi Xuze: "But I really want to meet Teacher Zhao He. I've been her fan for so many years. Can you imagine how excited I am to meet her in person?"

Neither this nor that works.

Luo Jiayou rolled his eyes and casually suggested, "Why don't you just hold it in and wait until Mantianxing is done before you go and meet him?"

Shi Xuze was quite satisfied with this idea, which was a perfect compromise, so he decided to adopt it on the spot. "You are so smart."

Seeing Shi Xuze's cheerful and confident look, Luo Jiayou couldn't help but add, "Only if you can hold it in."

Don't let anything slip in your excitement.

"I can do it." Shi Xuze said.

After seeing Li Yicheng off, Yao Yingmo still couldn't calm down.

Originally, whether to go to a comic convention for a book signing wasn’t a difficult decision to make.

But there are some things that we usually ignore, like the dead skin next to the nails. Once you notice it, it is hard to resist pulling it out and tearing it off. But if you really have the heart to deal with it, it will inevitably bring blood and pain.

Yao Yingmo was always thinking, which resulted in a serious decline in his typing efficiency.

After forcing himself to complete the basic updates, Yao Yingmo still called Zhou Yu.

The person who tied the bell must untie it.

She knew that what she was worried about was not whether to hold a book signing or not.

It was already past class time, but Zhou Yu answered the phone quickly.

Listening to Zhou Yu's calm voice, Yao Yingmo regained some calmness.

She exhaled and asked softly, "Xiao Yu, how are you doing recently?"

"Yeah." Yao Yingmo's tone was exactly the same as in every other call she made to show her concern, and Zhou Yu answered briefly as usual.

His one word means a lot.

He gets along well with his roommates, cooperates happily with professors and classmates in the laboratory, and is in good health.

Of course, it also meant that he didn't want to mention anything that might make Yao Yingmo worry.

Yao Yingmo was used to hearing him answer like this.

Just when she felt relieved and was about to talk to Zhou Yu for a few more words, she heard him speak for the first time.

"There's a competition next month. I'll give you an invitation."

Parents who care about their children in this world will enthusiastically support their children when they receive an invitation to watch a game. They will go to the scene to cheer for their children and overcome all difficulties.

Yao Yingmo was no exception. She was very happy to be invited by Zhou Yu, because this was a huge breakthrough for Zhou Yu.

Even though she didn't know the time and place of the competition, she still agreed immediately, "Okay, I will definitely be there."

There was silence on the other end of the line for a few seconds. "Once I get the prize money from this competition, I'll save enough to pay you back."

Yao Yingmo tightened his grip on the phone.

This was the last thing she wanted to hear, but she knew she would hear it one day.

Yao Yingmo took a deep breath, slowed down, and said, "Don't be so anxious. You can wait until you graduate from university, or even work for a while before paying it back. I'm not short of money."

She tried her best to make her tone sound like she was comforting Zhou Yu rather than comforting herself.

Perhaps her disguise was quite successful, as Zhou Yu's answer clearly showed that he didn't understand her true thoughts.

When Yao Yingmo said he was not short of money, he thought Yao Yingmo was just talking to him about money.

"I'm going to pay it back. Sister, please stop indulging me."

Yao Yingmo really couldn't figure out how she should tell Zhou Yu to make him believe that he was not a burden to her.

She couldn't help but tap the table with her hard fingertips that had been manicured.

Zhou Yu didn't know what Yao Yingmo's silence on the other end of the phone meant.

He continued, "I can already talk to my classmates normally. You don't have to worry about me. You can go to the book signing event."

Book signing event?

She had clearly only received the invitation and had not yet accepted it, so why did Zhou Yu know?

Yao Yingmo raised an eyebrow, a sharp glint in his eyes, "Who told you that? Orange?"

She didn't think Li Yicheng would do such a thing, and Zhou Yu might not be willing to pay attention to her.

The source of information that Zhou Yu could hear must be a channel that Yao Yingmo didn't know about.

"My roommate." Shi Xuze gave an unexpected answer. "I heard they said you got first place in the comic convention wish voting. My roommates also voted for you."

"But I also heard that you never agreed to it, even though you received far more votes than others."

This news was not even told to Shi Xuze specifically by anyone.

He just heard about it.

When he heard about it, he immediately understood what role he played in Yao Yingmo's decision-making process.

So he took the initiative to bring it up.

The topic that Yao Yingmo didn't want to hear was not mentioned by Li Yicheng and Zhou Yu at the same time by coincidence, but appeared at the same time for the same reason and in a related manner.

"But......"

Zhou Yu interrupted her, "Sister, you can make the decision just for yourself. I'll be an adult soon."

Yao Yingmo remained silent for a long time.

She understood what Zhou Yu meant and knew that he was not wrong.

If this continues, she will become a burden to Zhou Yu.

Zhou Yu waited for no response, and his tone softened. There was a hint of difficulty in his words, and he spoke each word with great difficulty, "We... all have to get out of this."

Yao Yingmo lowered his eyes, ignoring the slight discomfort in his chest, and said in a muffled voice, "I understand. I'll listen to you, Xiaoyu."

"Yeah." Zhou Yu seemed to finally realize how heavy a topic he had brought up. He was silent for a moment, "I'll go over this weekend."

Yao Yingmo loved hearing this. She threw her head back on the sofa and agreed with a smile, "Okay. Tell me what you want to eat, and I'll prepare it."

Zhou Yu agreed, and soon after he hung up the phone, a list of dish names really came over.

These are all Yao Yingmo’s favorite foods.

The corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.

Her son Xiaoyu is still very gentle.

It was at this moment that she decided to make some changes.

"Zhao He: Orange, I've decided to hold a book signing event."

"Orange: That's great. I'll tell the editor right away."

"Zhao He: OK."

Yao Yingmo thought that Li Yicheng would be impatient to leave his workstation and rush to the editor-in-chief's office to report this great news.

So she replied with a "yes" and ran to the kitchen to cook dinner. She also checked the ingredients available at home and made a shopping list based on the menu Zhou Yu had provided.

After she came back from a busy day, she saw the message Li Yicheng sent her.

"Orange: I think you'll find that stepping out actually feels pretty good."

She needs to experience for herself what the scenery will be like after she steps out.

But she has realized that taking this step is not as scary as she imagined.

The people she worries about may not need her to worry about them to this extent.
