Chapter 25 [Exposure 2] (Revised)
When Shi Xuze heard Yao Yingmo's question, he knew that things were going to be bad.
He actually revealed the secret that he shouldn't have told.
Is it too late for him to take back his words now?
"I……"
He was rarely speechless, but Yao Yingmo was uncharacteristically aggressive.
"Teacher Hu Guang, could you please explain to me how you knew we were going the same way?"
Yao Yingmo's voice sounded particularly calm, like the quiet before a storm.
Shi Xuze knew it was too late for him to take it back.
He could only look at Luo Jiayou for help with sweat all over his body, but all he got was a helpless shrug.
He remained silent for so long that it was hard not to feel that he was guilty.
Yao Yingmo snorted in an ambiguous tone, and Shi Xuze's scalp suddenly tightened.
He found his head was a mess and he could hardly think.
Even if he wanted to come up with an excuse, in his current state, he couldn't come up with any good excuse, and it would definitely be discovered immediately. I'm afraid that by then, Tai will become a blacklist in Yao Yingmo's mind.
He would never accept this outcome.
At this point, he felt he had to tell the truth, "Because, because we are next-door neighbors!"
Shi Xuze's words set off a huge wave, and all eyes in the conference room were instantly fixed on him.
At the same time, an exaggerated gasp was heard from the headphones. I don’t know which person online was shocked.
Luo Jiayou, who knew the situation, also looked over, gave him a thumbs up, and mouthed to him that he was brave.
Shi Xuze could only smile bitterly. If possible, he didn't want to be so brave. He originally hoped that he would be both brave and resourceful.
Now he just hoped that Yao Yingmo wouldn't hate him for this.
He waited anxiously for Yao Yingmo's verdict, his heartbeat clearly audible. Even though he was in an air-conditioned room, his palms were still covered in sticky sweat.
When he felt as if a century had passed, Yao Yingmo finally spoke.
"You said you are my neighbor?"
Shi Xuze replied weakly: "Yes..."
"Are you Mr. Shi?" Yao Yingmo couldn't believe it, so he asked again.
Shi Xuze couldn't really tell what Yao Yingmo meant by the tone of his questions, so he could only cautiously answer truthfully, "Yes."
"But you two are nothing alike."
"No, doesn't it?"
Shi Xuze thought Yao Yingmo would be angry, but he didn't expect her reaction to be disbelief.
Yao Yingmo: "They are not similar in any way."
"But I really am your neighbor," he said. "Teacher, you really didn't recognize me at all?"
Yao Yingmo: “No.”
Shi Xuze was severely shocked. He thought that Yao Yingmo would at least feel that his voice was familiar.
It seems he has some misunderstanding about the recognizability of his own voice. The fans who praise him have too thick a filter, which leads to him not having a correct understanding of himself.
It turns out that his natural voice is not really special and is easy to recognize.
So, how could he make Yao Yingmo believe that he was Shi Xuze himself?
He calmed himself down and picked out two things that were insignificant to talk about but would not reveal more of their privacy as proof that he was himself.
"You helped me escape the fire that day. And then you saved me again. I really don't know how to thank you enough."
"Okay, I believe it." Yao Yingmo really believed it. After all, only Shi Xuze himself knew that she saved him twice.
Lake Light. Shi Xuze.
The contrast between the two people's images was so great that Yao Yingmo found it difficult to accept for a moment. He could only sigh deeply and said, "Then I'll trouble you next week."
The atmosphere in the online conference room became very strange because of this conversation, and there was an inexplicable sense of oppression. So when the two stopped talking, someone immediately proposed to adjourn the meeting, and everyone supported it.
Yao Yingmo also supports it.
She needed some time to digest the news.
Her quiet and socially anxious neighbor and her talkative partner are actually the same person.
She tossed and turned all night and couldn't sleep.
So the next morning, she jumped out of bed and sent a message to Li Yicheng asking him out for coffee.
"Zhao He: Come out and have coffee with me, and chat with you about some gossip."
Yao Yingmo knew very well what kind of invitation Li Yicheng was interested in, so he used some tricks in sending the invitation message.
Sure enough, Li Yicheng agreed quickly.
So, the two of them sat facing each other by the cafe window, with two pieces of cake and two cups of black coffee on the table.
"What did you say?" Li Yicheng made an incredibly loud noise.
Yao Yingmo quickly looked around and, as expected, saw several condemning gazes.
She gestured apologetically, then winked at Li Yicheng, signaling her to control the volume.
Li Yicheng quickly covered his mouth, leaned forward, and lowered his voice, "Are you and my idol Hu Guang neighbors next door?"
Yao Yingmo nodded with a complicated expression.
Li Yicheng took a sip of coffee to calm himself down, and finally calmed down. He asked, "So, what do you think?"
Yao Yingmo sighed deeply, "I feel like I've been scammed."
Li Yicheng spit out the coffee he had just drunk. "Fraud? What do you mean?"
Yao Yingmo took out a tissue and handed it over. After Li Yicheng finished cleaning up, she said, "He's not socially anxious at all. I feel like all the food I cooked during this time is wasted."
"You really like boys with social anxiety... Xiaoyu, I can understand because of those things, but Huguang... what were you thinking at the time?"
What does she think?
"Boys with social anxiety are very well-behaved and cute, and you can't help but take care of them," said Yao Yingmo.
Li Yicheng: "I can't."
"But you don't hate them either."
Li Yicheng: "To be honest, I don't know how to get along with this kind of person, but I'm really curious about how you misunderstood that Huguang was socially anxious."
Yao Yingmo rolled his eyes, eager to confide, "Because he wears a hoodie every day and a mask, even during fires! And he only responds briefly when you talk to him. The other day, Aunt Liu upstairs pulled him aside to talk, and I saw him panicking as I tried to save him."
"Tell me, how can I believe that he is the same person as that chatterbox online?"
Li Yicheng nodded. "The hoodie and mask... At first glance, you might think he's even more socially anxious than Xiaoyu, but he encountered some sasaeng fans a few years ago, so he's probably just pretending."
Yao Yingmo scooped a large mouthful of cake and stuffed it into his mouth resentfully. "The reason isn't important, but the point is, he's recognized me for quite some time now, but he never said anything. He obviously eats at my house every day!"
"I even asked him to help me assemble the microphone. I wonder if he was laughing at me in his heart."
Li Yicheng soothed him, "I don't think so. After all, everyone knows that Mr. Hu Guang is a fan of Zhao He's books. I don't think he will laugh at you."
Yao Yingmo sighed, "I hope so."
Li Yicheng stood up and went to the counter to order a Russian candy.
"Come, eat something chewy to calm down."
"Thank you." Yao Yingmo immediately picked up a piece and chewed it carefully. "Actually, I don't think I'm angry."
"I just think, do I look stupid? It's been so long and I didn't even notice it."
Li Yicheng: "It's not your fault. Mr. Huguang's voice is very changeable. You're not a professional, so you really can't recognize him by his voice."
Yao Yingmo felt comforted: "If you met him on the street, you wouldn't be able to tell, right?"
Li Yicheng laughed awkwardly twice: "I...after all, I regard him as my idol."
Yao Yingmo was discouraged again, "Forget it, stop comforting me."
Li Yicheng laughed again, "What should we do then? Can the cooperation continue?"
"Of course we have to continue. The contract has been signed." Yao Yingmo remained clear-headed. "There's nothing wrong with their work attitude and professionalism. I haven't considered stopping them."
Li Yicheng nodded in understanding, "Then what about you and Hu Guang?"
"That's it. I'll just be embarrassed for a few days and then I'll be fine."
Yao Yingmo said that she would feel awkward for a few days, but in fact, she needed to adjust her attitude towards getting along with Shi Xuze.
Now she couldn't be completely impartial with Hu Guang, and Shi Xuze didn't seem as cute as before.
She was in a delicate state, not realizing that her attitude had made Shi Xuze uneasy until now.
"What should I do? Teacher Zhaohe seems angry."
After finishing the recording work, Shi Xuze was reluctant to leave the studio and stayed next to Luo Jiayou, saying that he was afraid that he would be bored doing post-production.
"From that day on, I never met her again, and no more delicious food was fed to me."
"When I send her messages, she only replies with cold words like 'yes', 'ok', 'OK'."
"Am I finished?"
Luo Jiayou had turned off the volume when Shi Xuze came over, and now he simply took off his headphones.
He stretched out his hand and motioned Shi Xuze to open his cell phone so that he could see how cold Shi Xuze really was.
After reading it, Luo Jiayou just wanted to roll his eyes, "Wait, in your conversation records, people have always been cold, right?"
Judging from the conversation records, Shi Xuze spoke at length from the very beginning, but the other party only responded with simple single words.
However, the content of the message Shi Xuze sent did not leave much room for others to speak.
In most cases, you just need to decide whether it is good or bad.
Can he blame Teacher Zhaohe for being cold? He felt that was not the case.
Shi Xuze was unconvinced, "I wasn't even in Huguang's time. Miss Yao is obviously a very nice person."
Luo Jiayou ruthlessly pointed out the truth, "You have always been Hu Guang."
Shi Xuze sighed exaggeratedly.
"So, didn't we agree to wait until the radio drama was finished before revealing our identities? You can't help yourself, so who can you blame?"
Luo Jiayou put on his headphones again.
Shi Xuze continued to stay by the side, thinking hard.
He thought about it for a long time, so long that even after Luo Jiayou finished the post-production work, he still hadn't made up his mind.
After the computer finished saving the file, Shi Xuze finally looked up.
He seemed to have figured something out, his eyes were firm and bright, "No... No, I must find a way to make her forgive me."
Luo Jiayou perked up to listen to his thoughts, and ended up hearing such a simple sentence.
He stabbed silently, "But I don't want to pay attention to you now."
Shi Xuze insisted, "I'll ring her doorbell early next week and talk it out then. I don't care anymore, so I'll just explain it to her honestly."
Seeing that he had his own ideas and was obviously not willing to listen to any advice, Luo Jiayou didn't want to say anything more.
"Sure, good luck."
"Just wait, when Teacher Zhaohe comes next week, we will have reconciled."
