Chapter 21: Shopping Mall Explosion (Part 4)
Nimachi Shigenori is not dead.
But he felt that he might as well die.
He did not plan the bombing on a whim recently, but had been preparing for it since he was diagnosed with the disease half a year ago.
He contributed to the investment and completion of the mall, otherwise he would not have been able to load the bombs so smoothly, cut off the circuits, and monitor the entire mall from the secret compartment that was disguised as a spare tool room.
He turned this huge and prosperous shopping mall into a toy in his hands, and also used it as a stage for the curtain call of his life.
He will use this bloody stroke to leave the most vivid mark on everyone.
Ten, twenty, or even fifty years later, Nimachi Shigenori will still be remembered by the world. He will even be listed in the police academy textbooks as a case of a heinous bombing, so that countless police officers will know his heroic deeds.
Having prepared for so long just for this moment, Nimachi Shigenori was even displeased with Jono Hisaji who stole his limelight by carrying out the bombing at the same time as him. How could he allow these guys, who he thought were ants in his palm, to cause trouble?
As he expected, the situation happened too fast and too urgently. Even though the police arrived early because of the unexpected appearance of Hisashi Jyouno nearby, they were ultimately unable to take effective action before he sealed off the mall.
After the mall was sealed off, the ordinary people involved were in a state of complete panic. The police were busy with rescue operations, and there was only one curly-haired officer who could defuse the bomb.
Ridiculous, can he tear it apart?
With more than 20 minutes left on the countdown, it was like a fantasy to think that one person could dismantle the bomb in the entire shopping mall.
There were no other abnormal people in the surveillance, so Nimachi Shigenori paid special attention to this policeman.
He was rolling the dice, playing a one-sided game with Matsuda Jinpei. If the dice came up with an odd number, he would remotely detonate the bomb while Matsuda Jinpei was defusing it.
Unexpectedly, before the Curly-haired policeman met his doom, his bomb exploded beyond his control.
Nimachi Shigenori was extremely angry, and almost instantly thought of Jiono Hisaji - except for him, no one would detonate the bomb without permission.
But before he could find the culprit from the surveillance near the explosion site and take revenge, everything got out of control.
Bombs were detonated one after another, half of the monitoring system was nearly paralyzed, and the other half seemed to have a problem and the delay was extremely high.
A sudden sniper shot pierced his wrist. A long-haired man who had sneaked into the room from the ventilation duct easily subdued him, knocked him unconscious, tied him up and threw him into a corner.
This room, where he was proud to be the mastermind controlling everything, now became a narrow cage that trapped him.
If the bomb could be detonated, Nimachi Shigenori would surely die at this moment along with Lei and the entire mall, but he was proud of his own planning and did not leave any backup plans.
Not to mention being able to put up any physical resistance, he could only faint unwillingly.
Lei found the remote control corresponding to a bomb that was passing by with no one nearby, clicked to stop the countdown, and waited for the delayed surveillance screen.
The door was opened silently, and he faced Scotland, who was also armed.
"You're here fast, Scot."
Although Lei knew that Scotland was capable, he did not expect that the other party could find this place in such a short time.
He still found out that there was a cat in the tool room that was not working properly through the control room, so he was able to find it. But Scotland's actions were not as convenient as his. You have to know that there were members of the Black Organization searching for people in the mall.
Morobushi Kagemitsu frowned slightly. He didn't quite understand why Lei wanted to control Nimachi Shigenori first.
Because no matter whether Lei stops bombing or not, either Nimachi Shigenori will bomb the mall or Gin will bomb the mall, and he can't escape.
On the way, he received a code message from Zero using the flashing frequency of a small light, and roughly understood the situation. He got the possible location of Nimachi Shigenori, destroyed the nearby surveillance and came here.
Lei understood Scotland's doubts, and after the updated surveillance footage confirmed that the bomb whose countdown had been stopped had not exploded, he stopped the countdown for all the bombs in the mall.
In his view, Scotland was in dire straits.
Staying in the mall means waiting for death. If you dare to join the police or pretend to be an ordinary citizen and escape under the protection of the police, you will be assassinated by the black organization to silence you, and even other police officers will be implicated.
Perhaps there are countless members of the Black Organization hiding in the crowd watching outside the mall.
"If you just want to catch me, there's no need for you to come here, Lei." Morobushi Jingguang said, "Or do you have another purpose?"
Lei was the first to put down his gun. He moved aside a little, exposing the remote control that stopped the timer to the sight of the hidden scene:
"Although the countdown has stopped and there is no risk of the bomb being detonated for the time being, the threat from Gin still exists. I think what I have done should be able to gain your temporary trust.
Let me introduce myself again, I am an FBI undercover investigator..."
The sound of a series of explosions was getting closer and closer, and the buildings shook under the impact of the explosions, forcing Shuichi Akai to swallow the rest of his words.
They quickly steadied themselves and looked in surprise at the heat wave sweeping in from outside.
Morofushi Jingguang did not completely believe the identity that Lei revealed himself. After all, the probability that the three bottles of whiskey who joined the organization at about the same time were all undercover agents was so low that it seemed like black humor, but now was not the time to say that.
"No one remotely controlled the bomb to explode, and the countdown stopped. Someone directly detonated the bomb."
For some reason, when Morobushi Kagemitsu said this, a face that made his blood pressure soar appeared in his mind.
He immediately gritted his teeth and confirmed the culprit:
"Jouno Hisaji!"
The main reason is that apart from Hisaji Jyouno, there is no third bomber in the mall, and no one else is stupid enough to risk their life against a bomb.
Amid the explosions that showed no sign of stopping, Shuichi Akai watched as Morofushi Kagemitsu put away the bomb remote, carried Nimachi Shigenori on his back and left, and he followed at a distance.
"Jouno Hisashi? The big detective who blew up a bunch of the organization's bases? I heard that Gin was going crazy and mobilized such a large force. In addition to dealing with you, he also wanted to get rid of him. I really want to get to know him."
Before he finished speaking, a figure jumped down from the damaged ceiling of the corridor.
The moment he landed, he switched the sniper rifle he was carrying to a pistol, and without saying a word, he shot Nimachi Shigenori.
If Morofushi Kagemitsu had not dodged quickly, the unconscious Nimachi Shigenori would have been shot in the head.
The circuit was affected and the lights went out. In the dim corridor, the only light coming in from the hole in the ceiling was the flickering light illuminating the black-haired, golden-eyed young man.
The handsome young man had no expression on his face, giving people a very cold and unapproachable feeling.
And in Lei's perception, the other party's coldness even had a strange inhuman feeling.
Even though he was standing here, not lying in ambush or sniping to suppress his presence, Lei never thought that he was someone who would be easily ignored.
But the young man passed him by, just like passing by a blade of grass or a tree. It was as if he had nothing to care about, and it was not even like he was looking at a fellow human being.
This creepy discomfort actually overwhelmed the instinctive sense of threat brought by the opponent's powerful ability and strange behavior.
The person who suddenly appeared was none other than Hisashi Jyouno, whom they had just talked about.
The players looked at this strange group of people in great confusion.
Scotland with a green health bar is carrying a humanoid monster named [Nicho Motonori] with a red health bar on his back, and there is also an NPC without a health bar named [Lei] behind him.
Lei's modeling is obviously not ordinary. As a young man, he has long hair and a knitted hat. Players quickly recognized him as a member of the Black Organization that appeared in the safe house to hunt down Scotland.
He couldn't help but feel even more confused.
Isn't this all plot weird? Why does Scotland seem to be protecting these two?
Seeing that Jyouno Hisaji had raised his gun again, Morofushi Kagemitsu hurriedly said, "Nicho Shigenori cannot be killed. You don't want to add another item to the wanted order, do you?"
Player: "Oh, it doesn't matter. If a few people die, it will be offset."
Morobushi Jingguang was silent for a moment. "You mean the offset? Could it be that you detonated the bomb?"
Player: "Yeah, it's really hard to get rid of the title of wanted criminal. I hope you can give me more rewards in return for my hard work."
Akai Shuichi was shocked and asked a question mark.
Morobushi Kagemitsu took a deep breath and said, "Detective Jouno, I want to keep Nimachi Shigenori and hand him over to the police."
"Alright." The player quickly compromised. The NPCs had their own reasons for their actions. It looked like Scotland wouldn't be killed by Nimachi Shigenori. "Let's go. Don't let the bombs hit you later."
At this point, the player couldn't help but complain: "I tried so hard to protect you, but you didn't hide in a safe place and ran around everywhere. If I hadn't checked the mission tracking and came to find you, you would be gone now."
Shuichi Akai thought: Who sent Hisashi Jyouno? Was a tracker installed on Scotland to control his whereabouts?
Knowing that he couldn't stop Hisashi Jono, Morofushi Kagemitsu carried Shigenori Nimachi out on his back. He and Akai Shuichi were shocked by the weird and terrifying scene in the lobby on the first floor and were speechless for a moment.
The human figures had turned into sandbags, piled up in various postures in the open space of the hall, just like a corpse landfill.
Half of the mall had collapsed into ruins, and helicopters could be seen flying outside through the firelight.
At some point, Hisaji Jyouno climbed up the steel bars and concrete to the core of the explosion on the upper floor and dragged out three unconscious elementary school students with terrified expressions.
He swung his arms vigorously, and the three little kids drew a parabola in the air and landed on the crowd with a plop.
Among the small hills formed by the ever-increasing number of humans, people who were woken up would occasionally crawl up rubbing their eyes in confusion, like zombies waking up from a corpse.
How to say it.
This scene is extremely unimaginable, extremely beyond common sense, and extremely embarrassing.
Especially after causing trouble in this half of the mall, Hisashi Tsuchiya ran to the other half to continue causing trouble.
Morofushi Kagemitsu: "..."
Akai Shuichi: “…”
Morobushi Kagemitsu: "...Don't you want to get to know him?"
Akai Shuichi: "Ah. I don't think about him much now. I always feel that he is not very human."
As the mall gets out of control from Nimachi Shigenori, the police, with sufficient personnel, also begin to intervene.
But faced with a dangerous criminal who kept detonating bombs, with no way to snipe him or negotiate, all they could do was rush to carry out rescue and fire control.
Fortunately, except for the group that was injured and killed by Nimachi Shigenori at the beginning, the people who were thrown out by Jone Hisaji in such a big explosion were all unharmed, which was really a relief.
When Gin arrived, the police had already taken over the situation, but his remote control of the bombs was useless because all the bombs that could be exploded had been used up by the players.
As for the culprit... uh... he should still be the culprit of the shopping mall bombing. Nimachi Shigenori had already been quietly transferred by Matsuda Jinpei and the police.
Morofushi Kagemitsu protects Shigenori Nimachi not only because he hopes that Shigenori Nimachi will be punished by law.
With Nimachi Shigenori's personality, being caught while unable to die and having his limelight stolen is much more torturous than dying once and for all.
Moreover, there is still something to be discovered about the bomb trade between Nimachi Shigenori and the organization.
Shortly after the police evacuated the last batch of personnel, the remaining buildings of the shopping mall could no longer hold on and collapsed, turning into a huge pile of ruins.
Even if you grow wings, you can't escape from here.
Gin didn't leave. He called Bourbon first and got straight to the point: "Where's Scotland?"
Bourbon snorted angrily, "I didn't find him, and I didn't see him come out. Maybe he died in there."
"Mice are very stubborn. They want to see people if they are alive, or their bodies if they are dead."
If it was just Scotland alone, Gin would believe it, but with the weird Jyouno Hisaji around, Gin even suspected that these bombs were no longer under the control of Nimachi Shigenori.
Those members of the action team who entered the mall also lost contact completely and are presumed to be dead.
What a bunch of garbage.
Gin hung up the phone and called Lei again, and got a similar answer.
He did not suspect that Bourbon and Ley had deliberately let Scotland go. Even if they had, that was just his suspicious nature.
This is normal. Although the explosion was a big deal, it actually took no more than half an hour.
The area was so large and chaotic, and they also had to leave time for a safe evacuation. It would not be easy to find Scotland, who was good at hiding.
However, the surveillance team did report that they had not found any trace of Scotland.
Gin let people continue to stare at him, and suddenly he heard a noise coming from the crowd.
The noises grew louder and louder, attracting the attention of those outside the cordoned-off zone.
"Look, what is that?"
"Oh my god, is there someone on the crane?!"
"I seemed to see them jump up there by themselves?"
Gin looked over and could vaguely see two figures on the huge hook of the rescue crane.
Scotland! And damn that Jyouno Hisashi!
Do you think you can escape from here? The mice are cornered.
He narrowed his eyes in pleasure and sent a message to the sniper to prepare.
At this time, the player who jumped onto the hook with Morobushi Jingguang stood fairly steady. He looked down and couldn't help but sigh:
"It's just like you said. There are so many weird things."
The humanoid monsters with health bars on their heads were extremely obvious to the players, who scattered around and stared at the passages near the mall. There were more monsters hiding in the distance, with their health bars vaguely visible.
Morobushi Jingguang, who originally stayed in the mall and had no intention of leaving, was brought out by the player. He sighed. Although he could not recognize the "monster" that the player was talking about, he also knew his situation.
Because of this, after he rejected Shuichi Akai's suggestion to pretend to capture him and take him away from the mall, he did not meet Zero the entire time, intending to bury himself here.
Otherwise, once he gets out, whether with the police or ordinary citizens, it will be easiest for the Black Organization to take action when there are so many people around and so many eyes. Not only will he not survive, but he will also drag down others.
"Thank you for trying to help me," said Morobushi Kagemitsu, "but we can't move by hook. They've already spotted us."
"Don't worry, leave it to me."
Standing on the slowly rising hook, the player said something that made people feel uneasy, then he squatted down confidently and carried Morobu Kagemitsu on his back.
After signaling Zhu Fu Jingguang to hold him tight, he turned on the camera function, posed in a thinking pose, then disconnected from the Internet and reconnected.
Sniper bullets aimed at the head pierced the air.
In full view of the crowd, the two people on the hook who seemed to be performing performance art suddenly jumped up straight like monkeys and turned into a shooting star in the sky.
"Fuck!"
"Mom, it's Superman!"
“It’s flying!”
“What the hell! What the hell!”
The dumbfounded crowd looked up following the figure that was flying straight up into the sky, their necks stretched so far that they could no longer bend, and they stared stupidly at the black spot that was about to disappear in the sky.
There's no way. Who has ever seen such a scene in their whole life?
Vodka's sunglasses are crooked.
Gin's cigarette just lit fell out.
Shuichi Akai's knitted hat slipped halfway down.
Amuro Toru's expression was dull.
Morofuku Kagemitsu...
In an instant, Morofuku Jingguang, who had ascended to the sky, was left with only the survival instinct of clinging tightly to Jyouno Hisaji in the cold wind. Looking down at the vast blue ocean and land and mountain ranges on the surface of the earth, his brain had stopped working.
The player who successfully solved the flying bug laughed heartily.
"Hahahahaha! You never thought that this would be my escape route!"
