Chapter 6

Horror Kindergarten

Xia Yi opened his eyes, and the lively wake-up song began to sound, and the nap time was over.

The small beds that she had knocked over in the lounge had been put back in their original places, and it had returned to the same state as when she first entered the lounge, with only one difference. Xia Yi stared at the small beds in the second row in surprise, and after counting them carefully, she found that there was one less bed.

There was also one less child who had gotten out of the crib.

There is no white bamboo, no white bamboo among the children making their beds.

Xia Yi looked around. The children who had played well with Bai Zhu before, and the children who leaned against Bai Zhu during meals, did not notice that Bai Zhu had disappeared. Even the teacher did not notice that such a child was missing.

It was so calm as if this person had never appeared.

Teacher Lin clapped her hands and said playfully, "Children, did you sleep well? Now we have to go back to the classroom to do some wake-up exercises. The first class this afternoon is math, so you need to have a clear mind when doing math problems."

"Okay, I like Teacher Lin's math class the most." Someone cheered and raised his hand.

"Me too. I like Teacher Lin the most."

Joyful sounds of comparison rang out. Xia Yi counted the positions and found that the person who had just cheered was the little girl whose finger she had pressed with the crib. If an ordinary little girl's finger was pressed with a crib, the finger would have turned purple and become unable to move, not to mention being disabled. But now the little girl's raised hand was still white and tender, and all five dimples on the back of her hand were still there.

She was afraid that she had counted wrong, so she looked at the other children next to the little girl and found that none of them had any injuries on their fingers.

Xia Yi seemed to be lost in thought.

The first class in the afternoon was Teacher Lin’s math class. Teacher Lin carefully taught how many bananas are equal to three bananas plus three bananas. Compared with Teacher Yuan’s music class, the math class was relatively boring, but the children’s enthusiasm was unexpectedly high. The atmosphere of the whole class never dropped, and the sounds of answering questions came one after another.

Except for the items related to Bai Zhu in the classroom, all other items disappeared out of thin air.

Wang En, Ye Baixin and others seemed to have discovered Bai Zhu's situation. She could see several people passing notes secretly.

However, Bai Sisi seemed to have not yet recovered from the shock in the bathroom, and her expression was a little dazed.

Xia Yi cut off half of his homework book and wrote, "What did you discover during your lunch break today? Those rules Teachers Lin and Yuan mentioned, as well as the kindergarten's own rules, seem to have a certain binding force."

Xia Yi folded the note and turned to look at Wang En, Bai Sisi and others.

Several players lowered their heads and discussed the problem seriously, and no one looked at her at all.

Xia Yi opened her mouth and clenched the note tightly in her hand, otherwise she would have just thrown the note over.

Didn’t they recognize her identity as a player?

Xia Yi was troubled for most of the class, and even when Teacher Lin's class ended, he still couldn't hand over the note in his hand.

"Did you all understand today's lesson? We will have an open math class during the Thanksgiving meeting tomorrow afternoon, which will be based on today's lesson. Everyone must prepare carefully and leave a good impression on your parents, so that they can be proud of you. No parent likes a stupid child." Teacher Lin knocked on the blackboard and gave serious instructions to the children.

"Yeah." The children also nodded and responded seriously.

"Okay, everyone, free time. After the bell rings, Teacher Yuan will organize everyone to go to the cafeteria to get a snack. I heard from Teacher Yuan that today's snack is banana milk and sandwiches. This is your favorite food, right? Thanks to the new students today, Teacher Yuan is making an exception and letting you have your second snack this week." Teacher Lin said with a smile, "To be honest, I like this afternoon tea the most, too. Yiyi, thank you."

Xia Yi shuddered and quickly stuffed the note in his hand into the table.

Turning her head, Ye Baixin and others were also staring at her.

Xia Yi subconsciously avoided his gaze and looked at Ye Baixin's mouth. Did Ye Baixin have so many hairs around his mouth before?

Xia Yi shook his head and stood up.

After declaring freedom, Teacher Lin walked out of the classroom.

She ran outside behind the child. She was going to the toilet to see the ghosts in the toilet.

The toilet is at the westernmost end of the entire kindergarten, next to the dance classroom. When you open the big iron gate of the kindergarten, the most conspicuous thing is the sign of boy and girl dolls in the toilet. The boy's toilet is in the front and the girl's toilet is in the back, arranged in front and back. The doors and all the buildings in the kindergarten face south.

From the outside, it looks no different from an ordinary toilet.

"Yi Yi?" Teacher Lin's voice came from behind Xia Yi.

Xia Yi paused and turned around. She didn't hear Teacher Lin's footsteps at all: "Teacher Lin."

"Yiyi, why are you here? Do you want to use the restroom?" Teacher Lin coaxed Xia Yi, a gentle smile on her lips, a glint of joy in her eyes. "The restroom is very dangerous. A classmate got scared here at noon. I've reminded you that you must not go to the restroom alone. Students who violate the rules will be singled out by the teacher for a lecture."

Xia Yi lowered her eyes and glanced at Teacher Lin's mouth, trying to adapt to someone who was not even as tall as her coaxing her. She shook her head and said, "Teacher Lin, I don't want to go to the toilet. My hands are dirty. I want to wash my hands."

Xia Yi stretched out her palm, on which was a five-pointed star drawn with a black watercolor pen. As she had just finished drawing, she smeared it on the paper, and it had become a black iron ball, which looked very dirty.

"Really?" Teacher Lin stared at Xia Yi closely, as if trying to detect all the expressions on Xia Yi's face.

Xia Yi nodded without changing her expression, staring at the corner of Teacher Lin's mouth with an honest look. This honesty was not something she pretended to have, it was something that came from her true personality: "Teacher, I never lie!"

"You can call me teacher even if your hands are dirty?" Teacher Lin followed Xia Yi's gaze and looked at the children playing on the slide not far away. "Yiyi, you just came here today. Haven't you adapted to kindergarten life yet?"

"Maybe a little." Xia Yi said.

"It's going to be a little bit difficult to adjust to the new environment. I'll have Gao Minmin play with you more often, and you'll soon be integrated into our group. Then you'll realize how friendly our group is." Teacher Lin smiled. "By the way, Yiyi, did you sleep well? Do you remember what you did in the lounge this afternoon?"

Xia Yi and Teacher Lin exchanged a glance and quickly shifted focus: "I fall asleep quickly."

"I'll ask your mother later. Of course, I think you have the right to know, too. Yiyi, are you aware that you're sleepwalking?" Teacher Lin frowned at Xia Yi and slapped his head, but the smile had long since faded. Only a gentle, coaxing tone remained in his voice. "Look at me, sleepwalking is when your body moves before you wake up, deviating from your conscious awareness and unconsciously doing something."

"I don't know." Xia Yi shook his head, his voice a little low.

"Perhaps you really don't know. I'll call your mother later." Teacher Lin scrutinized Xia Yi. Would such a timid girl lie? After a long pause, she put on a smile again and gently took Xia Yi's hand. "Come on, I'll take you to wash your hands. Next time in class, don't play with the gel pen. You brought it from home, right? You won't need it in kindergarten."

"Teacher, I suddenly want to go to the bathroom. Can I go?" Xia Yi said.

"Of course, the teacher will be waiting for you outside the cubicle." Teacher Lin said with a smile.

As Xia Yi was arguing with Teacher Lin, the live broadcast room became lively, and a large number of lurking people appeared.

——Why do I feel like this teacher believes Xia Yi’s words???

What are you unsure about? Forget about my feelings. The official guide for "Ladder" already states that NPCs in the game have their own minds, some even smarter than you. This clearly means that NPC trusts Xia Yi, otherwise Xia Yi would have triggered his death condition long ago.

——Not only that, what makes me feel most unfair is that Xia Yi has no trace of acting at all. You don’t know that when I enter the game, no matter how hard I act, I will be seen through by the NPC. I even had to use a life-saving prop to get out by chance.

——Xia Yi: Teacher, I never lie.

——Teacher Lin: Well, Xia Yi looks very sincere. She said she wouldn’t lie and she probably really doesn’t.

——Hahahaha, I guess Xia Yi didn’t expect that her character is still a good thing in “The Ladder”.

There are 189 new people joining the live broadcast room and 18 people leaving, bringing the total number of viewers to 3,000. Please keep up the good work, host.

Bai Wenwen rewarded Xia Yi with a small dried fish, Lin Zhi rewarded Xia Yi with ten small dried fish... The reward sound was heard for the first time in the lower right corner. The rewards in the "Ladder" live broadcast room were only small dried fish, which were exchanged at a ratio of 1:10 with real currency. Of course, the sound effects of rewarding one and rewarding thousands or tens of thousands of fish were completely different.

Xia Yi had no idea what was happening in the live broadcast room.

She held her breath and pushed open the door of the toilet cubicle. After turning her head to confirm Teacher Lin's location, she closed the door.

Teacher Lin's smiling gaze was slowly isolated outside the door.

After closing the compartment door, Xia Yi saw the mirror that Bai Sisi mentioned. The mirror was placed vertically, the size of an A4 paper, with nothing wrapped around the edges. The edges were slightly sharp for children.

The toilet in the kindergarten is a toilet that is slightly smaller than a normal toilet and is designed to fit children.

Xia Yi took out some paper and padded the toilet seat slightly, then took off her pants and sat on it to quickly use the toilet. Because she was taller than the children, she sat facing the mirror on the door, and the dark yellow old-fashioned light bulb above her head was shaking slightly.

Dong, dong, dong, the sound of high heels rang out.

Looking through the gap in the partition, you can see the tips of warm yellow high heels. They are Teacher Lin’s high heels.

The high heels stopped at the cubicle door, the toes tapping lightly on the tiles, dong, dong dong.

Xia Yi pulled up his pants and continued to sit on the toilet. With the tapping sound of high heels, the mirror suddenly turned black, leaving no gaps in the corners.

The thick black reflected out, darkening the entire cubicle.

There were no windows in the toilet, and not a breath of wind came in. The stuffy feeling wrapped around my heart. My heartbeat was like a drum, and gradually overlapped with the sound of Teacher Lin's shoes tapping on my heart.

Xia Yi sat on the toilet, staring at the mirror, which looked like an eye.
