Luo Wenjing's cousin Liang Linxue had always been the pride of the family. Luo Wenjing was often compared to her cousin by her relatives, and her cousin always had a condescending air of superiority in front of them. Luo Wenjing had never really liked her. But even if she didn't like her, she was still a relative, and she didn't want to see her cousin become like this.
She put the amulet that Shi Miao gave her on her cousin Liang Linxue. Liang Linxue felt that the pain mixed with itching was relieved a lot, and her originally tightly furrowed brows relaxed.
"Thank you, Wenjing. Which temple did you go to to get this amulet?" Liang Linxue held the amulet tightly. She knew that her boss had been tricked just like her. If she could get a few more amulets, she would definitely leave a good impression on her boss, and maybe her annual salary could be increased.
Luo Wenjing said, "This is a gift from a friend. It's not something I got from a temple." The amulets you get from temples are no match for Shi Miao's. If it weren't for their relationship, Luo Wenjing wouldn't have been willing to give it to him.
"Call your friend and ask her for a few more. Your cousin has to start working abroad next month, so there's no time to lose. I'll buy it for you no matter how much it costs." Liang Linxue's mother looked anxious. Her daughter, before she was twenty-five, had already found a job abroad paying $100,000 a year. She was the pride of the Liang family; no other child her age had achieved such success. If Wen Jing wanted to go abroad in the future, she would have to rely on them.
As she spoke, Liang's mother took out a few hundred-yuan bills from her pocket and said, "This money should be enough, right? We are relatives, don't try to blackmail me."
Her self-righteous attitude made Luo Wenjing roll her eyes. If she was after the money, she would not have given the amulet to her cousin directly in the first place, and she would not have specially called Miaomiao to ask about her cousin.
"Not enough. If I were to sell this amulet, it would fetch over 100,000 yuan."
Her aunt really took it for granted. If any amulet could be useful, why would they have to run around to temples, Taoist temples and hospitals all this time?
Liang's mother exploded, "One hundred thousand yuan, you might as well go rob a bank."
Liang Linxue knew her cousin wasn't lying. She had even asked her superiors for a talisman supposedly from a major Xuanmen sect to dispel the plague, but it only had some effect for the first three days, and the situation continued to worsen.
Luo Wenjing said, "My friend is Shi Miao. Do you think her amulet is worth 100,000 yuan?"
Shi Miao was a household name, and Liang's mother naturally knew about it. She also knew that her fortune-telling skills were incredibly accurate, and many wealthy people offered her money. Her expression immediately changed. "Your friend is Shi Miao. Why didn't you tell me about this earlier? Do we really need to be so reserved with each other?"
Wen Jing was incredibly lucky; she even knew Shi Miao. If she had known earlier, she should have invited Shi Miao to her home. Then, she could have asked Shi Miao to create a Feng Shui formation to attract wealth.
Of course, the most important thing now is my daughter's health! If her health gets worse, her job might be ruined.
Liang's mother hurriedly said, "Call Shi Miao quickly and ask her to come over and see what's going on with your sister."
Liang Linxue's mind went blank after being shocked by Luo Wenjing's news. When she heard her mother's words, her face changed drastically and her voice became sharp, "No!"
"Don't let Shi Miao come over!"
Everyone knew Shi Miao's fortune-telling skills, and now her skills had reached an unfathomable level. She could even tell fortunes by simply looking at a photo, without even needing a birth chart or name. If Shi Miao were to come over and take one look at her face, her true identity would be exposed.
Liang Linxue screamed at the top of her lungs, and looking at her expression, it seemed as if she had encountered the thing that frightened her the most.
Liang's mother was puzzled. "What's wrong with you? Your illness has made you uncomfortable for several days. It's rare that Wen Jing has such connections and is willing to help you. Don't be stubborn."
She agreed on Luo Wenjing's behalf without giving her a chance to refuse.
Liang Linxue shook her head desperately, "Don't, don't let Shi Miao come over! Don't, don't let my cousin owe me such a big favor. I feel much better now, I'll be fine after these few days. That amulet will be enough."
"Wen Jing, please don't look for Shi Miao for me."
Luo Wenjing looked at her cousin who was extremely frightened, and began to wonder in her heart: My cousin really seems to be afraid of Shi Miao coming over.
Generally, there is only one type of person who is afraid of Shi Miao, and that is the suspect with a criminal record who is afraid that she will report him to the police and send him to jail.
Luo Wenjing didn't believe a word her cousin said about being worried about her owing someone a favor. None of the cousins she knew were this understanding. Every time they asked their family to help, they acted like they had earned it.
She didn't directly mention that Shi Miao had agreed to come, for fear of alerting him. She just nodded obediently, "I understand. Cousin, tell me when you change your mind."
Liang Linxue breathed a sigh of relief. She was thinking about booking a flight abroad in the next two days. She just didn't believe that foreign hospitals couldn't cure her illness.
As it turned out, Liang Linxue relaxed too early.
Half an hour later, Luo Wenjing happily said to Liang Linxue, who was lying in bed, "Cousin, I told Miaomiao about your situation, and she is willing to come and see you in person. Your body can recover. Are you happy?"
Liang's mother, who had been sullen, was very surprised when she heard this. "Wen Jing, I knew you were a good child."
Liang Linxue was stunned. Did Shi Miao really come?
"What are you doing? I already told you that she's not needed. Why are you taking it upon yourself?"
She shouted at the top of her lungs, and her headache got worse with excitement.
