Strange Tales from the Deep Mountains (Part Twelve)
Almost at the same moment, Li Su suddenly felt like she was being watched.
His heart clenched suddenly, and he mustered his courage to turn his head stiffly, only to find a magnified face suddenly appearing in front of him.
His skin was pale, his deep green vertical pupils gleamed with a cold light, his eyes were long and narrow at the corners, his eyebrows slanted upwards into his temples, and his lips were extremely thin.
Her gaze unconsciously drifted downwards, and when it touched her clearly defined abdomen, Li Su quickly looked away.
"My God, is this what a human being can grow up to look like?"
"Upstairs, He is clearly not human."
"What beautiful older brother and sister... oops, what handsome older brother and sister..."
"That's so generous, they're really not wearing anything... Hehehe..."
"That face, those pecs, those abs, that V-line... it's just a pity it has that snake tail, otherwise..."
"Hey upstairs, that's a dangerous comment. Wear some pants!"
"This face looks so appetizing! I've decided to treat myself to a good meal today just for it!"
"Don't be impulsive, are you trying to ruin your life?"
The viscous gaze traveled from Li Su's pinkish ear tips downwards, scrutinizing the boy's entire body as if savoring a delicacy, before finally settling on the lower lip marked with bite marks. The dark green vertical pupils rapidly contracted, revealing a predatory, wild nature.
"Are you the bride tonight?"
His voice was so captivating that Li Su couldn't help but be drawn in, and even after the voice disappeared, she felt a little reluctant to let it go.
"Ah..." "He" glanced at Xia Liqiao, whose eyes were filled with terror, and then let out a soft sigh: "So there's another one. Let me guess which one is tonight's bride?"
Li Su's breathing became rapid, and her thick, long eyelashes trembled slightly with guilt and fear.
A pale, thin hand was about to touch Li Su's cheek when a crisp cracking sound came from behind her. Li Su subconsciously tilted her head to look in the direction of the sound.
The breeze from his cheek brushed against his fingertips, bringing a tingling sensation. His brows furrowed slightly, and a hint of displeasure flashed in his eyes.
He was so close to touching Susu.
The rustling sounds were mixed with faint hissing.
Li Su looked behind Him and discovered that Jiang Yue's stomach had been cut open, and inside were large and small white eggshells wrapped with blood streaks.
An eggshell lying beside the vine had cracked in two, and a tiny snake, no longer than an arm, tremblingly crawled out of it. Its pink tongue protruded from its mouth, accompanied by a faint hiss, whether it was scaring away unfamiliar prey or searching for its mother, it was unclear.
When the young snake crawled to his feet, it paused for a moment as it tried to climb up, then quickly changed direction and headed straight towards Lisu's location.
Having learned her lesson from being bitten by a snake, Li Su was frozen in place when she saw the little snake in front of her, completely afraid to move.
"Run!"
Xia Liqiao stepped forward, intending to pull Li Su away from the snake in front of her, but unexpectedly the little snake immediately changed direction, its bright black vertical pupils staring at her unhappily.
In the blink of an eye, the little snake had crawled to her feet. Before Xia Liqiao could figure out how the newborn snake could be so fast, she suddenly felt a piercing pain in her ankle.
Before Li Su could even check on Xia Li Qiao, the little snake had already turned around in a hurry.
The moment the snake crawled onto his shoe, Li Su trembled uncontrollably. Tears welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision. He dared not blink, fearing that the next second he would be bitten.
Why is he so unlucky? Does he have some kind of snake-attracting constitution?
"Look, even newborn snakes can't resist my wife's sweetness!"
"As the saying goes, if the upper beam is crooked, the lower beam will be crooked too. If you ask me, this little snake's father is probably not a good snake either."
"That wretched snake! What kind of snake is born and already clinging to someone else's wife?"
"Hey, hey, hey, where are you going to crawl into?!"
A cool, slightly damp sensation slowly glided across my calves.
Huh? The little snake didn't bite him...
The little snake, which was trying to climb up Li Su's calf, was pinched by two fingers and its head was mercilessly pulled off his leg.
Hiss—
The little snake had just opened its mouth, ready to fiercely bite the prey that had disrupted its actions, but when it sensed a familiar yet intimidating scent, it silently closed its mouth. However, its forked tongue continued to extend towards Li Su, as if it were not satisfied.
"Heh." He snorted coldly, without the slightest hesitation, and threw the little snake in his hand into the grass to the side.
Looking up, she met a pair of eyes filled with coldness and irritation. Li Su felt a tightness in her throat for no reason and swallowed with difficulty.
"Tsk." He made a very soft whisper.
"You're injured." He casually glanced at Xia Liqiao's pale face, which was contorted with pain. "What a pity... but then you can't be a proper bride."
Xia Liqiao's leg was completely numb, but he was stunned by His words.
A hand as cold as ice gently stroked Li Su's cheek, the fingertips lightly brushing against it twice with a seductive motion. "Then I'll choose you tonight."
His gaze fell on Li Su's eyes, which were brimming with tears of fear. His narrow eyes slowly approached, and finally, just as Li Su could no longer help but tremble, his thin lips curled up slightly, "My little bride."
"It's hard not to suspect this man is seducing my wife!"
"What a pity??? I can vouch for this man's blatant lying. Who says 'what a pity' while simultaneously smirking?"
"Hiss! Hiss! Although I love watching it, I disagree!"
"No, I won't allow it!"
The cool fingertips slowly slid down the bone, finally stopping on Li Su's chin. With a slight lift of the fingertips, Li Su's head lifted with the movement, her pink and white face losing its color and being fully exposed to His gaze.
“Su Su…”
Xia Liqiao's head was spinning. She struggled to stay conscious, not wanting Li Su to be taken away by the person in front of her. In a daze, she instinctively tried to grab Li Su with her hands, but she couldn't see anything in front of her at all.
She was caught in a contradictory feeling of being both hot and cold. The vast darkness in front of her almost completely obscured her vision, and a noisy buzzing sound filled her ears.
Seeing Xia Liqiao like this, Li Su, not knowing where the courage came from, reached out and slapped away the fingertip that was lifting his chin, and squatted down to support Xia Liqiao.
The witch doctor Qi said that all these snakes were poisonous.
What should we do? Doctor Qi isn't here at all; he doesn't have the antidote.
"Save her..." Li Su helped Xia Liqiao up, looking up at the person standing taller than him. "Please..."
He couldn't bear to watch Xia Liqiao die in front of him.
The tears that had been building up finally burst forth, wetting her long eyelashes.
A soft sigh seemed to ring in my ears, and before my blurred vision, He slowly bent down, "Why are you crying?"
A chill ran through her, and Li Su instinctively turned her face away, but then, realizing who the other person was, silently turned her face back. "Please..."
Xia Liqiao had completely lost consciousness and was in a coma. Her head tilted to the side, about to fall onto Li Su's shoulder, but was pushed aside by a large hand, and she pitifully slumped in mid-air.
"Although, I kind of want to laugh..."
"A certain snake: Mo Ai Su Su."
"This girl is really pitiful. First, she was pulled into the game again and again, and now she's passed out and doesn't even have anywhere to lean her head against."
Xia Liqiao: So? Doesn't anyone care about my feelings...?
With his palm hovering a finger's width away from the wound, Li Su followed his movements and saw that Xia Li Qiao's ankle wound was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
It seems Xia Liqiao should be alright.
However, the brief respite was followed by doubled fear—
If you don't touch Xia Liqiao, her wounds will heal completely; she really is a snake demon.
The moment her body was lifted into the air, Li Su instinctively searched for support, only realizing she was being held in His arms when her palms touched a chilling coldness.
The throat unconsciously emitted a helpless whimpering sound, like that of a small animal.
He smiled slightly, looked down at the top of the person in his arms, and whispered, "Let's go, my bride."
Li Su: "But she hasn't woken up yet..."
My lips were blocked by a cold finger, and a chill began to spread.
"Shh—" A hint of emotion flashed in his narrow eyes, "If you behave, she will be fine."
Help! System, please help!
The delayed plan was completely blocked before it could even be implemented, and Li Su frantically called for the system.
Players are advised to resolve this issue themselves.
"......"
Oh no, he's not a woman at all! How am I supposed to be the bride?
If I tell the truth now, He will probably get rid of me immediately. But what should I do then?
Li Su's mind was in complete chaos, her thoughts tangled together like a ball of yarn, impossible to unravel.
He glanced down and saw the person in his arms with their eyes closed, looking utterly hopeless. His smile deepened.
Li Su only opened her eyes abruptly when the icy water reached her calves.
He was actually carrying him into the water!
Li Su instantly tensed up, forgetting even how terrifying He was, only knowing to struggle to climb onto His shoulder and try to escape the icy, chilling water.
"I...I can't swim..."
Li Su's voice trembled uncontrollably.
His pale back was marked with several thin scratches from the struggles of the boy in his arms, but he paid no attention and continued to move forward into the deep water.
Receiving no response, Li Su shivered and snuggled into His arms.
The water is so cold, how can it be so cold?
It felt colder than in His arms.
Li Su unconsciously snuggled into His arms, treating Him like a normal person, trying to find a bit of warmth in His embrace.
He pressed down on the restless person who kept fidgeting, and said softly, "Close your eyes."
Li Su opened his eyes wide in terror, but a large hand pressed them down, forcing him to close them instinctively. A chill enveloped him, and a feeling of suffocation washed over him.
Li Su unconsciously clung to the only support in the water, but then felt her head being slowly pushed away.
No! Does He intend to drown him?
