Chapter 120 Grandma's Letter
The person who called Huo Yao was none other than the nurse in the hospital who failed to catch up with her.
Huo Yao took a taxi and went back to the hospital. Along the way, He Xiaoman called her countless times, but she didn't answer any of them. In the end, she simply blacklisted her phone number.
"I'm sorry, Miss Huo. I should have called you earlier to ask you to come and get your things, but I was delayed by something and couldn't come." The nurse looked at Huo Yao apologetically and handed her the letter.
Huo Yao took the letter and said politely, "It's okay, thank you."
"You're welcome." The nurse smiled.
Huo Yao took the letter and took two steps, then turned around and looked at the nurse: "I want to ask, did my grandmother handle the discharge procedures herself?"
The nurse shook her head. "I'm not sure about that. I'm on night shift today and wasn't here that morning." After a pause, she continued, "How about I ask my colleagues for you?"
When Huo Yao heard this, a hint of disappointment flashed across her eyes. Then she shook her head, said no, turned around and left.
There were public chairs in the green area downstairs in the inpatient department. Huo Yao took one and sat down before opening the letter.
[Yaoyao, grandma has returned to her hometown. You must take good care of yourself in the future and don’t worry about grandma. Grandma will take good care of her health and will wait for you to come back with an international trophy.]
There was very little content in the letter, and the handwriting was not beautiful. Even in each stroke one could tell that the writer's movements were slow and stiff. At the corner of the page where the signature was at the end, there was a mark of dried water.
Huo Yao felt a little sad in his heart, and he could almost imagine the old lady's mood and appearance when she wrote the letter.
The days in the past when she and the old lady depended on each other for survival were now like a quick-paced movie, appearing before her eyes one scene after another. Although she had only been with the old lady for one year, this year was the most peaceful time in her life.
Huo Yao raised her head, her eyes flickering. The dim street light beside her shone on her face, and it seemed as if there was a hint of loneliness mixed in with the warmth and coolness.
"Your expression is really rare to see."
Suddenly, a teasing voice came over, breaking the silence.
Huo Yao slowly turned his head, and Min Yu's exquisite face came into view. His tall figure was elongated, with his hands on his chest, looking lazy and casual. It was unknown how long he had been standing there.
Huo Yao frowned slightly, calmly folded the letter, and asked in confusion: "Why are you here?"
Min Yu raised his eyebrows, "If I wasn't here, wouldn't I have missed your weak, helpless and pitiful side today?"
When Huo Yao heard this, he stood up and walked slowly to Min Yu. He stared at him with a pair of big eyes with distinct black and white. His voice was quite cold: "Your eyesight is not good. I will come closer so you can see clearly."
Min Yu's lips twitched. He looked at the girl who was so close to him. She looked so arrogant. She was not as quiet as she was just now. He raised his hand and laughed, "OK, I used the wrong word."
Huo Yao chuckled and looked away, but soon a thought suddenly flashed through his mind.
Suddenly, her eyes fell on Min Yu's face again, "My grandma was discharged from the hospital. Was it you who helped?"
Whenever the old lady had a heart attack before, she would be sent to the hospital by this guy. So if she wanted to leave quietly, it is very likely that she would ask him for help again.
