Chapter 1231 Not Because I’m Afraid of You
Pei Rong's eyebrows moved slightly. He had always intended to seek refuge with Vice President Qin, but the other party never paid much attention to him. Even when he gave him the family's ancestral prescription book last time, he only said thank you.
After collecting his thoughts, Pei Rong nodded and said, "But I don't know too much."
"It's okay." Fu Cheng held the phone in his pocket, his eyes gloomy.
Soon he took Pei Rong back to Vice President Qin's office, explained the situation, and left.
Fu Cheng had just gone downstairs and before he walked out of the lobby, he ran into Fu Ya who was walking in hurriedly.
"Are you done?" Fu Ya asked quickly. Because she was in a hurry, there was a clear sense of urgency in her voice.
Fu Cheng saw that Fu Ya's mind was full of anger, so he didn't answer her. Instead, he reached out and grabbed her arm forcefully, dragging her out of the lobby.
Fu Ya clenched her hands, and when she walked outside, she easily broke free with her backhand.
Fu Cheng didn't pay much attention at this time, he just stared at Fu Ya coldly, "You are really a traitor. What good will it do you to deliberately mess with me?"
Although Fu Ya was not at the scene today, she had roughly guessed how things would develop when she received Huo Yao's WeChat message, so she was not surprised by Fu Cheng's questioning.
Fu Ya sneered, "How ridiculous! Did I ask you to take the medicine instead? When you were doing this dirty thing, didn't you think about the consequences of being exposed?"
Fu Cheng laughed angrily, "Is this a concept? You clearly know that this assessment means something different to me, and you still..."
Fu Ya didn't want to listen to Fu Cheng's nonsense. She didn't come here to see him. She just raised her hand and interrupted him. "That's enough. You brought this upon yourself. You can't blame anyone else. Let me ask you, is the person who made this medicine still in the association?"
Her workplace is quite far from the association, and there was a traffic jam on the road when she was getting here, which delayed her a bit.
All of Fu Cheng's anger was due to the fact that Fu Ya had actually plotted against him. Seeing that she was still so nonchalant at this moment and even asked about others, the string that he had been holding back snapped, and he raised his hand and slapped her, "You traitorous bitch."
The slap was very powerful, with no force left. Fu Ya's eyes narrowed slightly, and when the slap was about to fall on her face, she turned around and grabbed Fu Cheng's wrist, pulling him hard with even greater force than he did.
Suddenly, Fu Cheng stumbled forward before he even had time to react. He felt a sharp pain in his wrist, forcing him to bend down in embarrassment. His eyes met Fu Ya's dark eyes that were devoid of any warmth.
It was as cold as the winter months.
Fu Cheng was horrified. It was the first time he saw his cousin in such a horrifying state. It felt strange and scary.
"The reason I didn't bother with you these years is not because I was afraid of you, but because I didn't take you seriously. Do you understand?" Fu Ya's voice was exceptionally soft.
Fu Cheng shuddered subconsciously and couldn't utter a word for a while.
Fu Ya twitched the corners of her lips. Someone walked out from the gate. She loosened her fingers that were pinching her cousin's wrist, then slowly adjusted the scarf around her neck. Her face returned to normal, and she smiled and nodded at the people passing by.
Fu Cheng finally came to his senses: "..."
After everyone left, Fu Ya retracted her gaze and turned to look at Fu Cheng's face, "Can you answer my question now?"
