Chapter 1371: Appointment

Chapter 1371: Appointment

Huo Yao nodded slightly and greeted politely: "Mr. Pei."

Old Pei waved his hand, quickly asked her to sit down, poured her more tea, and began to reminisce about the past with emotion.

Because of the incident with his second son Pei Feng, he was once too embarrassed to study medical skills and pharmacology with the little girl.

"Mr. Pei, are you coming to the capital this time because you have a patient who wants to see you?" Huo Yao was still very respectful to Mr. Pei and didn't take the previous incident to heart.

Elder Pei nodded and did not hide anything: "Yes, there is a patient at the First Municipal Hospital who has a rare disease, so I was invited to come and see him."

Huo Yao held the teacup with his fingers, stroking the wall of the cup with his fingertips, and said with a smile: "The main thing is that you are a senior in the field of traditional Chinese medicine."

But Elder Pei shook his head with a smile, and sighed: "Compared with your medical skills, mine is nothing."

Such a talented girl, it’s a pity that the Pei family doesn’t have the qualifications to learn more from her.

Mr. Pei felt indescribable regret in his heart.

Huo Yao looked at Mr. Pei and said, "You are too kind."

Mr. Pei was still smiling, and at this moment, the cell phone in his pocket rang.

It was Pei Rong calling.

He picked up the phone quickly, but hung up without saying a few words.

Elder Pei's eyes narrowed, then he put away his phone and continued chatting with Huo Yao, "By the way, is Young Master Min in good health now?"

When Min Yu was mentioned, Huo Yao remembered that she had sent him a WeChat message at noon but he didn't reply. After a pause, she nodded and replied to Mr. Pei: "He's fine."

I don't know what that guy is busy with.

Huo Yao pondered and took out his cell phone from his pocket. There were no missed calls and no new WeChat messages.

What are these people busy with recently? Those who can't receive messages don't receive messages, and those who don't want to reply to messages don't reply to messages either.

After the meal, Huo Yao noticed that Mr. Pei was not in the right state after receiving a phone call at the table, so they did not talk much and quickly paid the bill.

After leaving the restaurant, Huo Yao planned to take a taxi home, but at the door he happened to meet Pei Rong who came to pick up Mr. Pei.

After a moment's hesitation, Master Pei turned his head and looked at Huo Yao, saying, "Master Huo, where do you live? Otherwise, I'll ask Pei Rong to take you back first."

Pei Rong, who was standing next to him, also looked at Huo Yao and said politely, following his father's words, "Yes, I'll drive you there."

Huo Yao put her hands in her coat pockets. The cold wind blew her hair around her temples. She glanced at Pei Rong and declined politely: "Thank you, I can just take a taxi."

After saying that, she nodded to Mr. Pei, and without waiting for him to say anything else, she walked towards the side of the road, her back looking cold and lonely.

Pei Rong narrowed his eyes. This little girl was still as cold as ever.

Mr. Pei retracted his gaze, not paying much attention to his eldest son's expression, and only said, "Go back first."

Soon the two got in the car.

Pei Rong started the engine and drove the car out of the restaurant parking lot, while looking up at the rearview mirror, "Dad, are you and that girl getting along well?"

Mr. Pei was thinking about something, and only replied indifferently: "It's not good, but we haven't seen each other for a long time, so let's have a meal together."

Pei Rong held the steering wheel with deep eyes, pretending not to notice his father's deliberate attempt to distance himself from the matter. He continued, "I heard Xiaofeng mention it before. You sold her herbs cheaply and asked her to teach Xiaofeng some knowledge of pharmacology."

Old Pei frowned. He didn't expect that his second son had the nerve to bring up this matter in front of the eldest son.
