Chapter 1467 Everything happens for a reason

Chapter 1467 Everything happens for a reason

"If I had come back earlier when I realized something was wrong, maybe grandma wouldn't have died, and I wouldn't have been unable to see her for the last time."

Huo Yao buried his head in Min Yu's neck, his hoarse voice filled with grief that was no longer concealed.

Min Yu tightened his arms, rested his chin on the top of Huo Yao's head, and said slowly: "This is not your fault. People are born, grow old, get sick and die. The old lady passed away peacefully."

"No, you don't know that I could have... If I had come earlier, maybe I could have seen her again. It's all my fault." Huo Yao murmured.

Min Yu felt a sore throat and said, "Let it out. It won't be so painful if you let it out."

Huo Yao clenched his hands together, leaned against his chest, and didn't say another word.

Min Yu just stood quietly at the door holding Huo Yao, as if he was not tired at all.

After an unknown amount of time, Huo Yao suddenly raised his head and plugged in the power card again. Suddenly, the lights in the room came on, sweeping away the darkness.

"I'm a little tired." Huo Yao looked at Min Yu, his eyes were dull and lifeless, and his face was so pale that it was almost transparent.

Min Yu's heart tightened, he said okay, and then carried the person to the bedroom.

After putting the person on the bed, Min Yu pulled the quilt to cover Huo Yao. When he was about to get up, the corner of his clothes was pulled.

He turned around and saw the little girl looking at him with confusion and helplessness in her eyes. Min Yu's heart suddenly felt like it was pierced by a needle.

He sat down on the bed again and smoothed the hair on her cheek with his fingers. "Go to sleep. I'll be here with you."

Huo Yao slowly loosened his fingers and closed his eyes after a while.

Min Yu waited until Huo Yao's breathing became even before he tucked the quilt in for her, stood up, and walked out of the room.

His cell phone was on vibrate mode because someone was looking for him just now.

After walking out into the hall, Min Yu took out his cell phone from his pocket. It was Zhuo Yun calling. He fixed his eyes on her and pressed the call back button.

Soon, the call was connected.

"What did you find out so quickly?" Min Yu said indifferently.

"No, someone has just been assigned to retrieve Mrs. Yang's medical records from the hospital." Zhuo Yun shook his head and continued, "It's about Miss Huo not taking the flight today."

Min Yu walked to the French window and looked out at the city that was already shrouded in darkness. "What happened?"

"It is said that Miss Huo was kidnapped before boarding the plane, which delayed her return." Zhuo Yun said quickly.

Min Yu narrowed his eyes upon hearing this, "Kidnapping? Who did it?"

He said that it was impossible that Huo Yao could not be contacted for no reason before.

"I'm not too sure about that." In fact, Zhuo Yun got this information from Cheng Ming, and Cheng Ming himself said that he was not very clear about the specific details.

"Send someone to check it out." Min Yu's voice was a little low.

"It's already been arranged." Zhuo Yun replied hurriedly. After a pause, he asked carefully, "Brother Yu, is Miss Huo okay?"

"She's in a bad condition. Please have someone take care of the old lady's funeral." Min Yu gave a few instructions.

Zhuo Yun nodded, "Okay."

Soon, the two ended the call and Min Yu turned around and walked back to the bedroom.

The wall lamp in the bedroom was not turned off. He looked at Huo Yao, then took the laptop from the bedside table, pulled the chair next to it and sat down beside the bed.

While handling affairs, he also accompanied Huo Yao.
