Chapter 4: Sickness

Chapter 4: Sickness

Huo Yao's eyebrows and eyes darkened. After a few seconds, she loosened her fingers and asked in a slightly deep voice, "Does your heart hurt again?"

Yang Qiuhua forced a smile and held her hand, shaking her head gently and comforting her: "Grandma is fine, it's just an old illness, don't worry."

He Xiaoman, who was standing next to her, was startled by the old lady's sudden attack. After she realized what was happening, she almost reflexively waved her hand to push Huo Yao away, "Mom, are you having an attack again? Are you feeling uncomfortable? Do you want to go to the hospital?"

Huo Yao, who was pushed away, frowned, glanced at He Xiaoman indifferently, turned around and walked into the house.

While He Xiaoman was taking out her cell phone to call an ambulance, she glanced at Huo Yao's back and sneered, "Mom, look, this is the person you raised since childhood. Even though you are like this, she still went back to the house as if nothing had happened..."

He Xiaoman shook her head, lowered her head and started dialing the phone.

After a while, Huo Yao came out of the house with a cup of water in his hand.

After He Xiaoman finished the call, she turned around and saw Huo Yao feeding the old lady something. She frowned and immediately snatched the cup. Seeing that the cup was not pure water, she immediately asked in a stern voice: "What did you give my mother to drink?"

Huo Yao glanced at the cup she snatched away, his eyes suddenly sank, his delicate face was expressionless, and his whole body exuded a dangerous aura that was both cold and impending.

He Xiaoman looked at Huo Yao like this, and felt so unfamiliar that she was frightened. She subconsciously took a step back in her high heels, "You...what's that expression?"

The tone was clearly two points weaker than before.

"Xiaoman, give me the cup. That's the medicine Yaoyao bought specially for me." Yang Qiuhua, who had recovered, pressed his chest and spoke while extending his hand towards her.

When He Xiaoman heard this, her eyes widened instantly. Not only did she not give her the cup, but she also poured the remaining medicine on the ground. "She bought medicine for you? What kind of medicine can a country girl buy? Isn't this nonsense?"

Yang Qiuhua looked at the medicine on the ground and immediately hurried to explain, "Yaoyao's medicine..."

He Xiaoman didn't even give her a chance to speak and interrupted her directly: "Stop, be quiet, the ambulance will be here soon. We have to have a thorough checkup when we get to the hospital. You can take any medicine and not be afraid of getting sick."

Shaking her head speechlessly, He Xiaoman set her eyes on Huo Yao's face again, "And you, you gave my mother medicine carelessly. If anything goes wrong, you and your family won't be able to pay for it with your lives. Now that we are still family, you should leave immediately and don't stay here any longer."

"Xiaoman, stop talking!" Yang Qiuhua was anxious and angry. She looked at Huo Yao, "Yaoyao, this is your home. Don't listen to her. Don't leave..."

Huo Yao glanced at the ground. The old lady had already drunk most of the medicine. She was too lazy to talk to her former adoptive mother. She slowly half-knelt in front of the old lady, her black and white eyes looked at her calmly, and said word by word: "In fact, it's time for you to enjoy your life."

Yang Qiuhua stared at her blankly, and suddenly she felt an indescribable panic in her heart. Her bloodless lips trembled slightly, and then she asked in a hoarse voice: "Yao, did you hear what we said in the room just now?"
