Chapter 958: Don’t be too honest

*

Huo Yao followed Liu Gan back to his office.

Liu Gan put the file bag in his hand on the table, stroked the corners with his fingertips, and when he raised his head again, the sadness on his face had disappeared.

He looked at Huo Yao and said apologetically, "I'm sorry for what happened to you today. I didn't expect that you would almost be punished because of such a piece of information."

Huo Yao glanced at him and replied without taking it to heart: "White can't be black, you don't have to blame yourself."

Liu Gan smiled bitterly.

What is white cannot be turned black, but what if someone insists on turning white into black?

He knew that Director Qi took this opportunity to humiliate him because he had argued with him a few times during the research funding issue some time ago, and the reason why Huo Yao was involved was probably because of Jiang Mingyue.

After all, the last time they were doing the experiment, Jiang Mingyue tried to find fault but ended up getting slapped in the face by her.

Jealousy is also normal.

Although Professor Zhao showed up today, it will probably be even more difficult in the future... Liu Gan sighed in his heart, but did not speak out his worries. He just said firmly: "It's okay, the teacher is here for everything."

Huo Yao raised his eyebrows slightly, "Teacher, we can't be too honest." It's easy to suffer losses.

When Liu Gan heard this, he was stunned.

This was the first time a student told him that one should not be too honest.

Coming back to his senses, Liu Gan smiled, and the gloominess seemed to have dissipated a lot.

He thought of the copy that Professor Zhao had given him two days ago. Although the content and knowledge points involved were rather profound, since Huo Ci Tou was able to completely defeat Jiang Mingyue, it shouldn't be a big problem if she got involved.

After thinking it over, Liu Gan looked at Huo Yao again and decided to wait until everything was almost ready before talking to her about this.

Not long after, Huo Yao returned to the study room of the department.

Yuan Xi had already reserved a seat for her. As soon as she sat down, Yuan Xi came over and asked in a low voice: "Why do you keep being called over by the Academic Affairs Office recently? Did something happen?"

Huo Yao tilted his head, his eyes showing a bit of nonchalance, and nodded, "Catch the thief."

Yuan Xi opened her eyes wide in disbelief, "Catch a thief?"

Huo Yao nodded lightly, without saying much, took out a pen and paper, lowered his head and started writing.

Yuan Xi was still confused and wanted to ask curiously what thief they were catching, but when she saw that Huo Yao was no longer paying attention to her, she just shut up.

However, when his eyes scanned the symbols she wrote on the paper, he was still a little confused.

It was not until five o'clock when Huo Yao finished his self-study that he put away the pile of papers on the desk. He raised his arm to press his sore shoulders and took the backpack next to him.

Seeing this, Yuan Xi, who was standing next to her, stopped studying and packed up her books. She had to go home today, so she followed Huo Yao and left the school.

The car that came to pick up Yuan Xi was parked on the side of the road.

"Sister Yao, where do you live? Do you want me to give you a ride?" Yuan Xi asked while looking up at the cars on the side of the road. However, when she saw the person sitting in the driver's seat, she stopped suddenly.

She opened her mouth, wanting to take back her words.

Huo Yao didn't notice Yuan Xi's expression. She just smoothed the bag strap on her shoulder and looked up. An ordinary-looking black car drove over. She raised her eyebrows and looked over there. "It's okay. The car to pick me up is here."

Yuan Xi heaved a sigh of relief when she heard that. She followed her gaze and saw some reflections on the glass in front of the car. She couldn't see the driver clearly for a moment. She quickly retracted her gaze and said, "Then...see you tomorrow."

Huo Yao waved at her and walked forward a few steps. After the car stopped, she opened the passenger door and got in.
