Chapter 186: Unexpected Changes in Strategy

Fang Shan was so engrossed in her own beauty that she almost spun and jumped with her eyes closed.

Wei Sushen didn't disturb his interest and let him do it.

This state continued until the fat boy knocked on the door and came in. He had asked Fang Shan to come downstairs to watch TV series at Aunt Zhang's request. When he saw the beauty in red, he was so surprised that he almost fell over.

The little meaty hand trembled as he pointed at Wei Sushen: "You are two-timing, hiding a mistress in a golden house..."

He used almost all the derogatory idioms he had learned in life in one breath.

At this moment, Wei Sushen had a thought that Wei Ye would occasionally have: there was no place for him in this family anymore.

Fang Shan waved enthusiastically at the little fat boy: "It's me."

The little fat boy covered his mouth, but the sound still leaked out from between his fingers: "It really is a vixen."

Fang Shan automatically took this as a compliment, and the curve of her skirt was particularly eye-catching when she turned around.

The little fat man gasped, and suddenly an idea struck him: "Are you trying to seduce a murderer?"

Fang Shan raised his eyebrows and stared at him thoughtfully.

Seeing this, the fat boy became more certain of his guess. He subconsciously closed the door, put his hands behind his back, and muttered, "I knew it. That police officer kept coming to see you, plus the incident at the hotel..."

Fang Shan interrupted his speculation and said sincerely, "You were reborn at the wrong time."

If we move forward a few centuries, when the profession of detective was prevalent, he would have been very suitable for it.

The little fat boy stared at him blankly, wanting to say something but stopping himself.

Fang Shan didn't expect him to be so loyal: "Don't worry, I won't be in danger."

The little fat man swallowed his saliva and pointed cautiously: "Well, if possible, keep him alive."

Although the other party is guilty of a heinous crime, it would be troublesome to kill him.

Thinking about the harmonious society that Wei Sushen had mentioned before, Fang Shan's mouth twitched. Who did he take him for?

The little fat man said seriously: "I know you, you must be trying to cause trouble under the pretext of self-defense."

Fang Shan took a deep breath, faced Wei Sushen, and pointed in the direction of the door: "Let him go."

If they stayed together for another second, they might fail to kill the fat guy before catching the murderer.

Without Wei Sushen saying anything, the fat boy left on his own.

Wei Sushen, who had enjoyed the show for free, finally spoke: "Where are we going to start?"

Fang Shan turned on the computer and pulled up a map of the city. He pointed somewhere and said, "The body was found here." He stopped talking and rubbed his chin with his fingers, as if he was thinking.

Wei Sushen: "Mark the home addresses of the remaining deceased."

Fang Shan followed suit and used small light dots as icons. At first glance, the distribution trajectory looked very messy.

"Cloud pattern." Wei Sushen stared at it for a while and suddenly said.

After he said that, a vague outline emerged in Fang Shan's mind.

Wei Sushen: "When this line is connected, it matches the cloud pattern on the coffin."

Fang Shan looked at him with emotion: "You still remember it."

Wei Sushen disagreed and said calmly: "The one who knows you best is always your enemy."

Fang Shan's heart moved, and he wondered what the other party's positioning of the Evil King was.

Wei Sushen didn't give him a chance to think deeply, pointing to a place and saying, "The next crime will probably be around here."

Fang Shan zoomed in on the road map and said, "Let's get familiar with the route tomorrow morning."

"We can narrow it down further," Wei Sushen said, "The location where the bodies were dumped was very particular and was carefully measured."

Fang Shan recalled the cloud patterns carved on the corners of the coffin. Judging from the spacing, the place where the body was dumped simply magnified the scale.

Wei Sushen's gaze lingered on the street ahead on the map: "The next crime scene will be here."

Fang Shan calculated the time intervals between the murders, which was very simple and rough. First it was one day, then two days, and the next time was six days later.

"It's too late today." Fang Shan turned sideways and looked at the endless night. He pursed his lips and said, "I'll go check it out tomorrow morning."

When he heard the word "check the spot", Wei Sushen raised his eyebrows slightly, but said nothing.

After having a goal in life, Fang Shan no longer indulges himself and lives a peaceful life every day.

This went on for two days. Finally, after dinner one day, Wei Ye privately asked Wei Sushen to go to the study and ask the reason.

Wei Sushen said calmly: "It's a good thing to live a stable life."

Wei Ye sneered: "I've only heard of the calm before the storm."

The two sides stared at each other for a few seconds, and Wei Sushen spoke first: "His target is the person outside."

After hearing this, Wei Ye waved his hand. Knowing that he would not be affected, he lived a very realistic life and immediately signaled that he could leave.

Fang Shan scouted the area carefully every day and kept an eye on passers-by. He thought the murderer might have the same idea as him and would be wandering around.

Reality slapped him in the face once again, proving that the word "good luck" had nothing to do with Fang Shan. Even on the hottest day, when he stood under a big tree and looked around until the sun set, he did not find anyone suspicious.

At this point, I deeply realized that the only way before me was to carry out the original plan step by step.

The suspected location for the body dump was across from a restaurant, a bustling place, with passersby occasionally passing by even at night. The likelihood of a direct perpetrator was low, and there were two dark alleys nearby that could have been chosen as the murder site. After careful consideration, Fang Shan chose one close to a side road. It had no other reason than that the back door of a bar led directly into this dark alley.

Everything was ready. On Friday night, Fang Shan put on her red-dressed look, bent over, and made a strangely gentlemanly gesture towards Wei Sushen, "Handsome sir, may I have the honor of asking you to dance with me?"

Wei Sushen stood up, ignoring his invitation, took off his coat and put it on his arm: "It will be too late if we don't leave now."

Fang Shan smiled and said, "You missed a dance."

"There will be plenty of opportunities in the future." Wei Sushen said calmly, his words full of meaning: "This is the benefit of being alive."

Fang Shan looked at his back and felt a little sympathy for the Evil King for no reason. A man who had been dead for who knows how long was still being dissed every day.

The city at night was a different kind of den of debauchery. Bars, one of the few legal venues for indulgence, attracted many handsome men and beautiful women. Fang Shan admired the colorful lights and admitted that the environment was quite nice.

After a while, someone came to chat with him. After perfunctorily dismissing him, he was surprised to find that there was no one around Wei Sushen. He took a cocktail and sat down next to him with a smile: "The popular man has become the dislike of everyone?"

Wei Sushen remained silent, his face practically etched with the words "Keep Out." Fang Shan actually admired him greatly. With such handsome features and a muscular body, no one dared to approach him at the bar. His gaze fixed on his pursed lips, then shifted upwards, seeing the impatience in them. He understood why everyone's attitude was to admire from a distance and not to offend.

After a few jokes, he leaned over and made a V sign: "Let's take a photo."

In the photo, one of them was smiling brightly, the other was full of helplessness and tolerance. Fang Shan was very satisfied with the effect, sprayed some perfume on himself, and walked out.

Wei Sushen grabbed him and asked, "What are you spraying?"

Fang Shan raised his hand and said, "I guarantee it's not Liu Shen."

Wei Sushen stared at him coldly.

Fang Shan coughed lightly: "Time is tight, I don't have time to buy it."

He really has no interest in perfume and has no desire to invest in it.

Wei Sushen: "So?"

Fang Shan said sheepishly, "I borrowed some of the insecticide my aunt recently bought."

Wei Sushen looked at him deeply and let go of his hand.

Fang Shan had no cleavage, and her figure was only supported by the intricate lace hanging all over her clothes. She left the air filled with the smell of insecticide and walked out through the back door.

Wei Sushen did not follow, but acted as if he was waiting for someone, keeping his eyes on his surroundings.

After Fang Shan left, about three or four people also went out the back door one after another. Two of them came back quickly, with regrets on their faces after being rejected. Only the last one went out for about 5 minutes and still hadn't come back.

Wei Sushen tried to communicate with the system in his mind, and the other party's answer was very meaningful: "It's getting to the interesting part."

Dark alleys are always a breeding ground for crime. Throughout history, countless people have suffered harm here, and some have even lost their lives. Yet, people still flock to these places for excitement.

Fang Shan pressed his hands against the cold crack of the wall and walked a little unsteadily, a typical example of someone who was drunk.

The person behind followed for a long time without making any move. Fang Shan's eyes darkened and he intentionally threw down a card.

"Your things fell." A clear voice sounded from behind.

Fang Shan turned around, slightly surprised. The young man standing nearby was wearing a clean white shirt, his fangs faintly visible as he spoke, giving him the look of a fresh-faced college student.

Fang Shan bent down to pick up the card: "Thank you."

The young man hesitated and said, "It's not safe for you, a girl, to be here."

Fang Shan didn't care at all: "I'm waiting for someone."

The young man was slightly stunned.

Fang Shan's eyes curved as he looked towards the bar: "There's a cool-looking handsome guy sitting inside."

The young man nodded. The man was very conspicuous and no one could fail to notice him.

Fang Shan smiled confidently: "I told him that if he doesn't come, I will wait here all night."

Unable to persuade him, the young man had no choice but to go back to the bar.

A second before entering the bar, he turned his head slightly and glanced at Fang Shan casually before stepping over the threshold.

"I think I found it." Fang Shan smiled nonchalantly and communicated with Wei Sushen through his consciousness: "It's a pity that he was scared away."

"The reason." The cold and desolate voice on the phone added a bit of chill to the night.

Fang Shan leaned against the wall alone, tilting his head and smiling, "It must have been driven away by the smell of the insecticide."

“…”

"Don't worry, I checked the weather forecast for tonight, and it's going to rain heavily soon." Fang Shan looked at the dark sky. "There are very few people with umbrellas inside. I guess they want to party until dawn, so there aren't many people for him to choose from."

On a rainy day, the unruly girl in a red dress, the smell of blood could be infinitely magnified... Fang Shan's mouth curled up: "I created a paradise for him to commit crimes."

He was bored and rubbed the gravel with the sole of his shoe, counting unconsciously: "One sheep, two sheep to be slaughtered..."

When I counted to five hundred, a few raindrops fell from the sky, and soon the rain began to pour down like crazy.

The back door of the bar was opened again, but this time Fang Shan pretended not to notice. Instead, he cursed at the sudden change in the weather and turned to walk out of the dark alley. As expected, the person behind him followed closely.

Fang Shan had already thought of no less than ten possible strategies in his mind. He turned around when he heard the footsteps approaching. The smile on his face instantly changed to surprise. "It's you."

The young man walked towards him and said, "I just forgot to say something to you."

Fang Shan showed just the right amount of doubt, stopped and looked at him.

The moment the young man got completely close to him, he whispered in Fang Shan's ear: "Your skirt is beautiful, and you... are stupid."

To his disappointment, he did not see the panic that the latter wanted to show on his face.

Fang Shan slowly raised his arm, almost unable to suppress the arc of his mouth. However, the next moment, Wei Sushen's voice suddenly came to his mind: "There seem to be several plainclothes police ambushing in the bar, you should be careful."

He subconsciously thought of Geng Feng and immediately analyzed two possibilities. The first was that the other party sent people to keep an eye on him, but he quickly dismissed this idea. Even if Geng Feng had doubts, they would not suddenly send multiple police officers to follow him without evidence; the second was that Geng Feng had found some information and also inferred that the murderer might have committed the crime nearby.

Looking at the young man before him, who already showed signs of malevolence, Fang Shan sighed regretfully. The fact that the murderer could strangle a strong man proved he was definitely not as frail as he appeared. If he had resorted to such blatant violence as crushing a skull in the chest, it would have surely aroused Geng Feng's suspicion.

Having failed in his mission, Fang Shan was a little distracted, thinking about how to end the embarrassing situation without exposing his own strength.

The young man didn't give him much time to react. Just as he was about to show his vicious side, Fang Shan's eyes rolled and he suddenly shouted, "Police, don't move!"

The young man was startled, and the moment he saw Fang Shan raise his hand, he turned around and ran away reflexively.

Once, when he wanted to turn around, Fang Shan pretended to press his ear against his ear and said into a microphone, "Spot the target, block the surrounding streets immediately."

As he spoke, he chased after the young man and shouted into the air, "Come to the front street for support! Guard the exit for me!"

The smooth operation did not give the other party any chance to react. The young man no longer had any doubts and stepped on the muddy land, fleeing madly out of the alley.

The author has something to say: Fang Shan’s quote: Never underestimate the wisdom of a system.
