The emergence of meditation language

The emergence of meditation language

In Monday's math class, Lin Weixi was concentrating on copying the formulas on the blackboard when suddenly a figure sat down in the empty seat next to her. She subconsciously looked up and met a pair of bright eyes with a smile.

"Hello, I'm Chen Siyu, a new transfer student." The girl's voice was clear and melodious, like the gurgling of a spring on a summer day. She tucked her schoolbag neatly into her desk, her movements carrying an indescribable sense of ease.

Lin Weixi nodded gently in response, noticing that this new deskmate had neat short hair and two shallow dimples at the corners of her mouth when she smiled. Unlike the other girls in the class who always wore school uniforms properly, Shen Siyu's school uniform jacket was casually open, revealing a T-shirt with cartoon patterns printed on it.

As soon as the bell rang, Shen Siyu turned around and leaned her elbows on the desk: "Hey, your name is Lin Weixi, right? This math class is too fast, I can't keep up at all."

Lin Weixi was a little surprised at her familiarity, but still replied softly: "If you need, I can lend you my notes."

"Really? Thank you so much!" Shen Siyu came over happily, her hair brushing against Lin Weixi's arm. "I see you're very serious in class, so you must have taken very detailed notes."

Just as Lin Weixi opened her notebook, Chen Wang walked past the back row and knocked on her desk: "Physical Education Committee member, remember to collect the registration forms for the sports meet this afternoon."

"Okay." Lin Weixi responded briefly, feeling Shen Siyu's gaze moving back and forth between them.

After Chen Wang walked away, Shen Siyu lowered her voice, with a sly glint in her eyes: "Wei Xi, you blushed just now."

Lin Weixi's hand trembled, and the pen left a shallow mark on the notebook. "Nothing," she hastily denied, "just a little hot."

Shen Siyu smiled knowingly, but didn't ask any further questions. Instead, she changed the subject naturally: "By the way, can you tell me which counter in the cafeteria has the best food?"

During lunch time, Chen Siyu naturally took Lin Weixi's arm and walked to the cafeteria. Her closeness made Lin Weixi feel a little overwhelmed, but also inexplicably warm. While queuing for food, Chen Siyu chattered about interesting things in the past at school, which made Lin Weixi laugh from time to time.

"Look over there," Shen Siyu suddenly nudged her with her elbow, "your Chen Wang is at the basketball team table."

Lin Weixi followed her gaze and saw Chen Wang sitting with several boys from the basketball team for dinner. He seemed to be talking about something interesting, gesturing as he spoke, making the others laugh.

"He's not mine..." Lin Weixi argued softly, but her ears turned red.

Shen Siyu gave her a meaningful look, but didn't expose her. She just said, "Hurry up, it's our turn to get food."

In the afternoon Chinese class, the teacher asked for group discussion. Chen Siyu naturally formed a group with Lin Weixi, and the two analyzed the text head-on. Halfway through the discussion, Chen Siyu suddenly said: "Weixi, when you think seriously, you will unconsciously look to the right and back."

Lin Weixi raised her head suddenly, and met Chen Siyu's smiling eyes. Behind her on the right was Chen Wang's seat.

"I..." Lin Weixi opened her mouth, but didn't know how to explain.

"Don't worry," Shen Siyu leaned closer to her, lowering her voice to a very low level, "This is our secret."

The school bell rang, and the students began packing their bags. As Chen Siyu stuffed her textbooks into her bag, she said, "Weixi, do you want to go to that breakfast shop near the school gate tomorrow morning? I heard their soy milk is delicious."

Lin Weixi nodded, a trace of warmth rising in her heart. It had been a long time since she met someone who took the initiative to extend a hand of friendship to her.

As we walked out of the school gate, a light drizzle began to fall. Shen Siyu pulled a rainbow-colored umbrella from her schoolbag and skillfully opened it: "I'll take you to the bus stop."

The two of them squeezed under the umbrella, the raindrops hitting the umbrella, playing a brisk rhythm. Shen Siyu hummed an unknown ballad, and her other hand naturally held Lin Weixi's arm.

"Wei Xi," Shen Siyu suddenly spoke, her voice sounding particularly gentle amidst the sound of the rain, "liking someone is a beautiful thing, there's no need to feel embarrassed."

Lin Weixi was stunned, not knowing how to respond for a moment. She had never shared this secret with anyone, and she never expected that it would be seen through by someone she had only known for a day.

"I can see it," Shen Siyu continued, looking at the hazy rain in the distance, "the way you look at him is exactly the same as when I first fell in love with that senior in the class next door."

The sound of the bus arriving interrupted their conversation. Shen Siyu stuffed the umbrella into Lin Weixi's hand: "See you tomorrow! Remember our breakfast appointment!"

Lin Weixi stood on the platform holding an umbrella, looking at Shen Siyu's back as she ran away, a wonderful feeling welled up in her heart. This unexpected friend was like a ray of sunshine shining into her carefully guarded secret garden.

When writing in her diary that night, Lin Weixi deliberately opened a new page:

"Today I have a new deskmate, Chen Siyu. She's very special, like she can see right through my mind. She said liking someone is a beautiful thing, which suddenly made me feel that secret love might not be so lonely after all."

She paused at this point, remembering the warmth of Shen Siyu's arm around hers, and the rainbow-colored umbrella. This was the first time since she transferred to another school that someone had approached her and wanted to get to know her.

Outside the window, the rain had stopped, and moonlight streamed into the room through the gaps in the clouds. Lin Weixi gently closed her diary, looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast appointment. Perhaps having a friend with whom to share secrets wasn't such a bad thing.
