Chapter 23 Evil Version of Jiang Le
Nanshan, Yihe Sanatorium.
With its pleasant scenery, tranquility, comfort, and complete facilities, it is a great place for rehabilitation, treatment, and retirement. However, beneath these beautiful appearances, the most sinister secrets are always buried.
The off-white building at the innermost of Qushen's courtyard exuded an indescribable oppression all day long. The caregivers hurried along, their eyes evasive, never lingering in the hallway for even a second, as if some man-eating monster were locked behind the heavy iron door.
The iron door made a dull grinding sound as it was pushed open. A dark figure walked in slowly, the hem of his windbreaker sweeping the ground silently.
Her pale face looked particularly cold in the dim light, and her black eyes were bottomless, like two dry wells, hiding countless corrupt secrets.
Two sharp and vicious eyes came at her simultaneously, but the woman ignored them, with a faint smile on her face, she sat down on the chair with a leisurely and happy pace, and leaned her head towards the two beds.
The two people on the bed were bound tightly in strange positions with restraints, their mouths sealed with tape, and they could only make vague whimpers. Their eyes were wide open, bloodshot, filled with fear and hatred, staring at the person opposite them.
The violent vibration caused the bed to creak.
The woman closed her eyes, and the sound of the painful struggle sounded like a comfortable lullaby to her ears.
This is the ninth year since Jiang Congyue's death. Whenever she can't sleep, she comes here to listen to the sounds of them twisting their bodies in an attempt to escape.
Her pale fingertips tapped lightly on her temples, again and again, in an eerie rhythm with the rocking of the bed.
She could indeed hear their inner voices, but every time she came here, the two of them would curse endlessly, so how could they have the time to curse her in their hearts?
The people on the sickbed were not other people. One was the hospital director Sun Meixin, and the other was the thin woman Zhao Li.
After learning that Jiang Le had become successful, they wanted to climb up to him intentionally or unintentionally, but they were afraid that Jiang Le would come back to retaliate against them, so they gave up the idea.
Later, after hearing some horrifying rumors about Jiang Le, I just hoped that she would be merciful and not bother with me.
But surprisingly, Jiang Le not only took the initiative to find them, but also said that they had raised her after all and she wanted to repay them.
Of course, they didn't dare to believe it at first. The weasel paying New Year's greetings to the chicken must have some conspiracy.
The first person to waver was the thin woman Zhao Li.
Jiang Le took her to the best hospital in the city and spent a lot of money to buy Zhao Li all kinds of advanced and expensive equipment.
Zhao Li was flattered and couldn't believe that this was something she could enjoy. She burst into tears and said, "Le Le, it was Aunt Zhao who wronged you in the past."
Jiang Le watched her legs gradually recover, smiled and patted her hands, "That's all in the past. We should look forward, right? Now that my life has improved, of course I can't forget you."
Zhao Li twisted her injured leg that had been unable to move for many years, and almost knelt down and kowtowed, saying that she wanted to reform and repent.
After being able to run and jump again, Zhao Li went back and showed off her legs to the hospital director, Sun Meixin. She then described how well she had been treated in the past few months. The more she spoke, the happier she became, and she was extremely happy.
Sun Meixin's heart moved. She thought that she had never done what Zhao Li did back then, and she was trying to persuade Zhao Li. Besides, if she hadn't agreed to let Jiang Le enter the welfare home, could she have such a good life?
Isn't that all relying on oneself?
The more I think about it, the more this makes sense.
The next day, she went to find Jiang Le before dawn, and was led in by a servant to visit every corner of the manor. It was the first time she saw such a luxurious manor, and she was so jealous that her eyes were about to pop out.
If you don’t make a big profit, you’ll be doing yourself a disservice!
Jiang Le took a long time to come down. When he saw Sun Meixin, he called out warmly, "Dean, Dean."
The two chatted for a long time, mostly with Sun Meixin talking about Jiang Le's childhood. She wanted to take advantage of her because she was young and didn't remember much, so she took every detail from her aunt and mixed it up.
Deeply moved, she even took a handkerchief and pretended to wipe away her tears, "At that time, I could barely afford to eat, but seeing you kids starving, I really... I really couldn't bear it..."
Jiang Le held Sun Meixin's arm and patted her slightly hunched back. This woman was no longer as strong and bold as she used to be. It seemed that some small things could completely break her back.
"I understand, Dean. You are doing this for our own good. You never say anything even when you have wronged yourself." Jiang Le also smiled and cooperated with her performance.
At this point, Sun Meixin's muddy yet shrewd eyes, hidden under her handkerchief, moved left and right, and then continued to cry: "Poor me now, I..."
Jiang Le followed her and asked, "Dean, what happened? Is there something serious?"
Sun Meixin leaned on her arms, weeping so hard that she collapsed. "My husband was laid off a few years ago and hasn't been able to find a job. The savings we've saved over the years are about to be gone. I'm so worried every day that I can't eat or sleep. There's really nothing I can do."
"Oh, what big deal am I talking about? These are all trivial matters. Let your husband come to work for me, and the most important thing is that you take good care of your health." Jiang Le patted her hand as if distressed.
After hearing this promise, Sun Meixin couldn't hide her joy. With red eyes, she covered her mouth and said thank you several times.
After everyone left, someone took out the information about Sun Meixin's husband.
It was none other than the little girl who was selling water chestnuts outside the airport.
The second time I ran into her, she was selling water chestnuts wholesale at the market. Even at such a young age, she was already a master at bargaining. She bought seven or eight boxes for 1.8 yuan a pound, far from being ten yuan a pound.
There was a group of children following behind eagerly, each taking a frame and then dispersing without stopping.
This made Jiang Le laugh. She already had a business mind at such a young age. Later, he learned that she was also from an orphanage and was taking advantage of the situation with her followers to earn some pocket money.
Jiang Le saw that she was smart and had great potential, so he took her home to be his assistant.
Coming back to his senses, Jiang Le glanced at her approvingly. "You're very considerate," he said. She took the document and looked at it.
Sun Meixin's husband Guo Liang was indeed a dropout at home, but it was not a layoff. He was fired for stealing valuables from the company.
The couple are both complete gamblers, and it is common for them to embezzle public funds for gambling. Now it is really difficult for them to survive with just Sun Meixin's salary.
Fortunately, I don’t have a child, otherwise I don’t know how much suffering I would have to endure with them.
"Boss Jiang, you really have to let him join the company." Lin Yuan said with a sneer.
Jiang Le slammed the folder shut and curled his lips. "No such thing as a free lunch. Shouldn't greedy people be punished?"
He slammed the folder on Lin Yuan, put his hands behind his back and left humming a tuneless song.
Within a month, Guo Liang could no longer hold back. Jiang Le offered a high salary to the security captain, but he heard other security guards say privately that he could increase the salary several times by investing in stocks!
As soon as he had an idea, he asked a few security brothers for advice. Sure enough, the effect was immediate. Looking at the extra money in the new card account, his eyes turned green.
"Brother, let me take you to see some other good places." Several security guards smiled and took Guo Liang away with their arms around each other's shoulders.
The small-scale gambling in the countryside could no longer satisfy him, so he was dragged by his good security brothers to a large underground casino, where he could earn hundreds of thousands in one night!
Moreover, this casino offers advance payment, so you can gamble without having to put out any money, and if you win, you only need to pay a 1% advance fee.
So, he took Sun Meixin with him, and the money would be in his pocket in the end.
Seeing that they were getting richer and richer and had bought two houses in a row, Zhao Li couldn't sit still and immediately came up to ask what was going on.
At first, the two were reluctant to tell her this good way to make money, until Zhao Li said that she would give them a 30% to 70% split of the money, then they relaxed.
The three of them used the money they earned from stock trading to gamble, and then used the money they gambled to trade stocks. As the money rolled in, the amount in their accounts was already a huge amount that they had never seen in their lives.
Jiang Le's fingertips tapped on the table like running water, and he watched their virtual account slowly grow, with an unstoppable joy on his face.
By the time they realized something was wrong, it was too late. The three of them suffered consecutive losses in the casino and were about to use the money in their cards to fill the gap, but they found that they could not withdraw any money.
"What's going on?" Zhao Li panicked and slammed the machine desperately. "There's something wrong with your machine. I have money in my card!"
A burly thug tapped his stick and sneered, "You got money? Then show it to me!"
Sun Meixin, a person who had seen a lot of the world, was calmer than them. She first bluffed them and said, "Let's write an IOU first! We'll pay you back in a few days!"
The thugs who surrounded them dispersed, and a beautiful woman came up with paper and pen.
The three of them wrote an IOU, pressed their fingerprints, and then hurriedly fled back home.
But later, thugs repeatedly banged on their door and splashed blood to collect the debt. Even after selling the house they had previously bought, they still couldn't pay off the debt. The three of them gathered in the old house and a huge argument broke out under heavy pressure.
Zhao Li slammed the table and cursed, "It's ruined! It's all ruined! It's all your fault! How are you going to compensate me?"
"Why don't you tell us why you had the nerve to ask us to help you make money before, and now you blame us when you can't make any money!" Guo Liang was already very annoyed, and when he heard them arguing with each other, he became furious and swept the dishes on the table to the ground.
This posture shocked the two women, but then Sun Mei became angry, her eyes turned red and she was about to go forward and scratch Guo Liang.
Before he could even start a fight with Zhao Li, the couple started a quarrel among themselves. "If it weren't for you, I would have gotten into this trouble! Why don't you just die! You troublemaker, go to hell!"
Guo Liang had always been afraid of his fierce wife. He glared at Zhao Li who was watching the show with his blue eyes, grabbed her neck and was about to slam her against the wall.
But Zhao Li couldn't let him catch her, so she turned around and kicked him hard, then opened the door and ran away.
Guo Liang, feeling the pain, pushed Sun Meixin hard, who was still trying to tickle him. "Are you sick? You're not helping me, but helping someone else. She said 30/70 split, so shouldn't the money be split 30/70? Who's going to pay the debt now that she's gone?"
Sun Meixin was awakened by this. She loosened her grip and quickly grabbed Zhao Li's hair, "Don't even think about getting away!"
As several people pushed and shoved, Guo Liang's feet slipped and he was about to roll down the stairs when he grabbed Zhao Mei who was closest to him.
The staircase on the side of this dilapidated building was very high and steep, and there was a nail left standing on the ground by someone, no one knew who had left it.
Zhao Li, whose bones were almost broken, was so frightened that her whole body froze in the pool of glaring red blood.
Sun Meixin, standing on the stairs, with disheveled hair and a deathly pale face, looked at the two people on the ground. Her legs felt weak as she knelt on the ground, muttering unconsciously, "It's over, it's all over..."
Zhao Li used all her strength to push Guo Liang away. With shaking hands, she pressed her recently healed leg. She tried to get up in a panic, but her legs were too weak to support her and she fell to the ground. "My leg! My leg!"
"Tap-tap-tap-"
A man walked slowly into this farce, following the stairs stained with bright red blood.
The two bewildered men looked over tremblingly.
Jiang Le was still wearing that black windbreaker that made people numb. A smile played on the corner of his mouth. He looked down at them condescendingly and said in a tone of pity: "How pitiful."
Looking at the two people groaning in pain on the ground and Guo Liang, who was motionless, Jiang Le's eyes lit up unusually, a light that was almost fanatical. She slowly squatted down, admiring their pain from a closer distance, as if appreciating a piece of art.
"I'll send you to a place where you can enjoy your old age." She said softly, her fingers gently brushing Zhao Li's broken leg bone, causing a violent twitch. "Don't worry, the doctors and nurses there are very professional. I hired them especially for you..."
Her voice was soft and cold, echoing softly in the bloody air, like a poisonous snake spitting out its tongue, creepy.
Each word was carefully polished like a blunt knife, slowly sawing at their remaining sanity.
"It's you! It's you! Little bitch! Bastard!" Sun Meixin staggered to her feet and pointed at Jiang Le and let out a hoarse roar.
Jiang Le's eyes darkened, he glanced at her with a raised eyebrow, and chuckled softly, "What does it have to do with me?"
Then she clapped her hands, threw the gloves that had just touched Zhao Li's legs on her like garbage, and stood up and left humming a song.
