Chapter 28 Liar

Chapter 28 Liar

When Jiang Le woke up the next day, she saw Jiang Congyue and Li Yan sitting side by side on the sofa in the living room sharing a box of strawberries. The sight of them talking and laughing made her unconsciously breathe a sigh of relief.

The sunlight streamed through the French windows onto them, creating a warm and cozy scene. Li Yanxian noticed her first and immediately put on a bright smile, patting the empty seat next to him. "Come on, Aunt Jiang bought some really sweet strawberries today."

Jiang Congyue looked up at her, a gentle smile in the corners of his eyes and eyebrows. This familiar scene made Jiang Le's heart warm, as if she had returned to those ordinary weekend mornings ten years ago.

Li Yan looked from one to the other, a cunning glint in her eyes. She raised her chin high and pointed at the two of them with her fingers. "Humph, you two have reconciled, don't you want to show your respect?"

Jiang Congyue stood up and pinched Li Yan's face, the action was intimate and natural, "Okay, little mediator, I'll take you to a big meal."

"I want to eat the most expensive one!" Li Yan shook his head more and more demandingly, and the ends of his hair danced in the sunlight.

Jiang Le elegantly took out her cell phone and tapped a few times, "How about the revolving restaurant on the top floor of Genting Hotel? I heard that the French foie gras there is unique." Her tone was flat, as if she was saying that the weather was good today, but the glimmer in her eyes revealed her good mood.

Li Yan's eyes lit up, and he shook his body in a coy manner, "Oh, I'm so sorry to have let Mr. Jiang spend so much money. But since you invited me so sincerely..."

"Come on," Jiang Congyue smiled and pressed down hard on the top of her head, "Your eyes are shining brighter than light bulbs, and you're still pretending!"

The three of them laughed together, and a long-lost warm atmosphere filled the air.

A few hours later, they were seated in the revolving restaurant atop the Genting Hotel. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the dazzling nightscape of Taipei City shone. Inside, the lights were soft, piano music flowed like water, and fresh white roses were placed on every table.

"This is too luxurious!" Li Yan exclaimed softly, his eyes constantly looking at the exquisite crystal chandeliers and gilded decorations.

As the waiter poured champagne for them, Li Yan suddenly blinked and said, "Since we're here... can we have a lobster?"

Jiang Congyue raised her head and teased, "Hey, what's the matter? Chen Ting starved you, so you came to us to beg for food?"

"Hey, stop talking. It has nothing to do with her. She's my agent." Li Yan's face fell in worry. "She even checks my saliva to see if I've added sugar to it. What a miserable life I've been leading!"

Jiang Le silently picked up some foie gras for her with his chopsticks, but a smile was on his lips.

"It's a pity that you've become so thin due to hunger. It's really hard for our Yanyan." Jiang Congyue held her head and touched it twice with heartache.

"Stop touching my head!" Li Yan's eyes widened, as if he had just realized her trick. He quickly took out a mirror to fix his hair. "My agent hired a top stylist to do this hairstyle!"

Jiang Le watched them playfully, her glass in hand, a gentle smile in her eyes. She waved for the waiter and thoughtfully ordered three different flavors of lobster for Li Yan.

Halfway through the meal, Jiang Le felt a little dizzy, perhaps from the aftereffects of the champagne. "I'm going to the bathroom," she put down her glass and stood up gracefully.

Jiang Le felt a little unsteady as she walked along the velvet-carpeted corridor. She held onto the wall and walked slowly, following the signs to find the restroom.

Just as she turned a corner, a figure suddenly bumped into her from the side. Jiang Le was caught off guard, and a pain in her shoulder instantly woke her up.

The person who bumped into her was a woman in a waitress's uniform, but she looked panicked. When the woman looked up and saw Jiang Le's face clearly, she was suddenly so frightened that she sat down on the ground and crawled back in fear.

"No! Don't come over..." The woman was trembling all over, her eyes wide open, as if she had seen something extremely terrifying.

Jiang Le frowned. Although she was hurt by the collision, her years of upbringing made her politely extend her hand, "Are you okay? Let me help you up."

"Go away! Go away! Ah!" The woman covered her head and screamed madly, and her voice attracted the manager of a nearby restaurant.

Patience exhausted, Jiang Le frowned and lowered his eyes, not even giving the woman a glance, and walked away. Someone seemed to come and take her away from behind, but Jiang Le didn't care much.

Jiang Le nodded calmly and continued walking towards the bathroom. But she could feel the terrified gaze behind her following her until she turned a corner and her sight was blocked.

When Jiang Le returned to the restaurant, he found that the bottle of wine on the table was empty again, and Li Yan and Jiang Congyue were obviously drunk. They were clinking their glasses and hugging each other crying.

"Aunt Jiang, do you know how sad Jiang Le and I were at that time?" Li Yan sobbed, "I really, really couldn't bear to leave you. Fortunately, you came back, wuwuwu..."

"Yanyan, I can't bear to leave you too..." Jiang Congyue's voice was also tearful. She patted Li Yan's back gently, and her eyes were also red.

Jiang Le stood not far away, sighing helplessly. She decided not to go in and disturb them for the time being, mainly because she was afraid that if they got excited, they would drag her into the Peach Garden Oath of Brotherhood again.

She turned and walked to the railing of the observation deck, overlooking the dazzling nightscape of Taipei City. The night breeze caressed her face, bringing a slight coolness that also made her feel much fresher. From this vantage point, the nearby scene was filled with the glitz and glamour of feasting and revelry, while in the distance, the dazzling warmth of countless lights. She had viewed the city from similar heights many times, but never had she felt such peace and tranquility as she did now.

Jiang Le closed his eyes, simply and leisurely feeling the breeze caressing his cheeks, with only the whisper of the wind and the vague hustle and bustle of the city in the distance in his ears.

Until someone's hand patted her shoulder, breaking the peace.

Jiang Le looked over with hazy eyes and found it was Lin Yueying. She quickly collected her emotions and curled her lips, "What a coincidence, Miss Lin."

Lin Yueying was holding a lady's cigarette in her mouth, her face not looking good. "I'm even more surprised to see Mr. Jiang here. How come you have the time to hang out here today? Oh, yes, yes, yes. Look at my brain, it's with your lover, right?"

She emphasized the word "lover" with extra emphasis, as if with some gnashing of teeth.

"Yeah." Jiang Le knew that she probably found out that he had tampered with the real estate project and was now angry with him.

But what could be done? After all, the Jiang and Lin families were not only partners but also competitors in many areas. The business world was like a battlefield; only by disturbing the other side could one gain greater benefits.

However, no matter how angry Lin Yueying was, she wouldn't really tear her face apart. She puffed out a cigarette and said nonchalantly, "I just didn't expect that Mr. Jiang, who is usually so unkind, would be so kind."

Jiang Le didn't like this statement very much, and the smile on his lips disappeared. "What do you mean?"

Lin Yueying glanced at her out of the corner of her eye and said calmly, "My brother's new lover seems to know Director Jiang. She's acting crazy and keeps calling your name. Lele, is that your nickname?"

Mistress? Know her? Jiang Le suddenly remembered the strange waitress from earlier. She searched her memory but couldn't find any familiar face that matched her. She shook her head calmly, "You're wrong. I don't know her."

After saying that, she was too lazy to continue arguing with Lin Yueying, so she turned around and left, leaving the eldest daughter of the Lin family standing there alone, smoking non-stop.

Back in the private room, Jiang Le found that the two people inside had calmed down a bit. Li Yan's face was red and he was burping from time to time. Jiang Congyue was not much better, leaning his head and laughing foolishly. Seeing Jiang Le coming back, Jiang Congyue reached out and hugged her, saying in a very aggrieved tone: "You are finally back, I missed you so much..."

Hearing this, Jiang Le froze. She looked at Jiang Congyue, who was hugging her. Her expression was different from the usual teasing. It was a look of genuine grievance and longing.

She smiled bitterly and held Jiang Congyue's face in her hands, caressing her drunken frown with her thumb. At this moment, Jiang Le realized once again that their relationship had never been equal - only Jiang Congyue knew everything about her, while she knew nothing about Jiang Congyue's past.

Jiang Le gently kissed Jiang Congyue on the forehead.

Love yourself.

Jiang Congyue, what about you?

Are you loving yourself well when I can’t see you?

Li Yan, who was standing next to him, crawled over and put his face forward, "Jiang Le, why do you only kiss Aunt Jiang? I want her too!"

The tears in Jiang Le's eyes disappeared with a smile, and he quickly supported her face that was constantly pressing against him, "No."

She took out her cell phone and called Chen Ting, asking her to pick them up. Otherwise, she couldn't take care of two drunks at the same time.

Of course, there is another reason that is difficult to say out loud, which is that Li Yan disturbs their world of two too much.

Sure enough, within half an hour, Chen Ting hurried over. She helped Li Yan, who was as limp as mud, to his feet. Seeing two identical faces, she didn't show much surprise. She just nodded politely to Jiang Le and left with her people. Jiang Le liked her tact.

Now, it was just her and Jiang Congyue. Jiang Le helped the drunk Jiang Congyue up. Fortunately, they had similar drinking habits. When drunk, they didn't act crazy, but rather a little dazed. At this moment, Jiang Congyue would probably do anything she asked.

Back at Jiang Congyue's apartment, Jiang Le gently placed her on the bed. Seeing the usually calm and composed Jiang Congyue now obedient and confused, she couldn't help but feel playful. She poked Jiang Congyue's cheek and ordered, "Raise your hands!"

Jiang Congyue really raised his hands obediently, stretched them out and held them motionless.

Jiang Le laughed softly a few times, thinking that Jiang Congyue was so cute at this moment, and couldn't help but lean over and kiss her.

As soon as his lips touched the person below, his head was held down tightly. Jiang Congyue reacted instinctively, using his tongue to push open her lips and teeth, and swaggered to seize Jiang Le's territory.

Jiang Le, whose waist was sore from the teasing, tried to hit the man back with his tongue, but the man succeeded and they hooked together.

The two kissed until they were out of breath. After they separated, Jiang Congyue opened her hazy eyes, smiled proudly with spring-like eyes, turned over and threw herself on Jiang Le, continuing the passionate kiss.

Jiang Le was so overwhelmed by this sudden change of host and host that her heart fluttered and her waist weakened. She tried to push him back with her tongue, but it only dragged him deeper. The kiss was so intense that it left both of them breathless.

Jiang Le managed to maintain a clear mind between his breaths and asked softly, "Do you know who I am?"

Jiang Congyue paused, her misty eyes focused on Jiang Le's face, and she suddenly giggled: "You are Lele...my Lele..." Then she leaned down again, rubbing her nose affectionately against Jiang Le's neck, and her warm breath sprayed on her skin, causing a shiver.

Jiang Le sighed, it was so perfect that he couldn't get a single word out of him.

Never mind, it's not a bad thing to enjoy a moment of happiness.

Jiang Le stroked her smooth lower back and chuckled softly.

A liar.
