Chapter 101: Happiness (The End)

Chapter 101: Happiness (The End)

"Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your past." As Qi Shaoyou parted ways with Liang Man, she looked at Liang Man carefully and said, word by word.

Liang Man was about to let go of his clasped hands when she heard these words and her movements slowed down.

"I'm very happy." Liang Man's speech was equally slow, and she answered Qi Shaoyou with utmost sincerity. Wearing the clothes she wore when she was eighteen, for a fleeting moment she felt as if she had truly changed her past.

Her painful past was subtly intertwined with that of her lover. And so, from that moment on, her old memories began to change.

Love is a magical thing; it can not only make your life better now, but it can even change your past without you even realizing it.

Memories once covered in dust are gradually stripped of their grime and revealed in a new light with the arrival of a loved one. The person who was lost and in pain in those memories receives a warm embrace many years later.

Escape room games weren't as fun for Qi Shaoyou as the previous ones, and she became calmer after leaving Liang Man.

While solving the problem, she quickly found the key that the production team had hidden with a cold expression.

For Qi Shaoyou, these questions were all very simple. But for the production team, Qi Shaoyou was truly outrageous!

They worked like crazy all night to solve the escape room puzzle, and it looked like they were about to solve it in thirty minutes.

The director gritted his teeth and immediately decided to add another level to the game.

There are still three questions, and only if both people can answer the same question correctly at the same time can they pass the level.

Without this, she, the director, would seem like an absolute idiot!

They considered many things, such as what if people couldn't find the key when they entered the escape room?

What if I don't understand the prompts? What if I can't solve the arithmetic?

The only thing I didn't expect was that Qi Shaoyou solved the problem so quickly, and equally absurdly, Liang Man also solved the problem very quickly!

The director, who seemed even more foolish, added it! He absolutely had to add it! These two women should sleep in separate rooms tonight!

The director, in a fit of impotent rage, raised three questions.

Since the director was deliberately trying to make things difficult for the two of them, his questions became increasingly abstract.

Qi Shaoyou opened the first task card, which read: How many hairs do you have?

The comments section was bursting with laughter at this question, with everyone praising the director for being such a genius for asking such a question.

[Seriously, the fact that this question was posed to you two perfectly illustrates the director's current mental state, haha.]

But isn't it perfectly normal to not be able to answer this kind of question, or to give a different answer than your partner?

[They really resort to violence when reason fails, and unreasonable behavior when brains don't work, hahaha.]

[The director deliberately intended for Qi Shaoyou to be unable to answer; look, the punishment cards were written faster than the question cards.]

[Twenty squats, thirty burpees—the director's vengeful intent is completely obvious, hahaha...]

To everyone's surprise, Qi Shaoyou wasn't angry after reading it; instead, he curled the corners of his mouth into a smile.

She and her master would actually give the same answer to this question.

"As many as the leaves on a willow tree."

Both gave the same answer simultaneously after seeing the question card.

The director was genuinely bewildered; this wasn't an acceptable outcome.

Looking at the stunned cameraman, Qi Shaoyou recalled how her master had explained the answer to this question to her back then.

"Humans are born, grow old, get sick, and die; trees have spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Hair, like leaves, can increase or decrease."

Qi Shaoyou's answer surprised everyone, but it also made them feel that this was indeed a plausible explanation.

To be honest, I initially thought she was going to say something classic like "stars," but it turned out to be "willow trees."

That's definitely true. For example, I've already entered autumn... Waaah, my hair...

Stop talking, did I cry as winter approached? Yes, I cried...

While the viewers were amazed by the novelty of Qi Shaoyou and Liang Man's answers, they also took a moment to lament their own hair loss.

Before Qi Shaoyou could even negotiate with the director and ask to leave as soon as possible, his master arrived at the room first.

The dazed directing team and the elated Qi Shaoyou formed a stark contrast.

When Liang Man was dismantling the film, she discovered that her cameraman was very particular about a certain corner.

After answering the first question, Liang Man went straight to that spot.

After knocking on the empty wall, Liang Man opened the door directly, following the production team's usual practice.

The director almost cried; she had indeed arranged for this door to be there. But she hadn't told the two of them that she'd left it there until dinner time, so they could have Qi Shaoyou's meal instead…

"Wife, you're here." As soon as Qi Shaoyou saw Liang Man, he automatically clung to her.

Even after being separated from her master for just a short while, Qi Shaoyou already missed him terribly. Separation anxiety wasn't unique to her master; she experienced it too.

Liang Man caught the girl who ran towards her, her eyes full of affection.

Seeing that the two had reunited, the director was the first to raise the white flag.

"Congratulations to the two of you for achieving the hidden completion condition and gaining half a day for a date."

Qi Shaoyou was surprised to have a date with him, and then she reached out to the director.

"What do you want?" the director asked warily, having already realized that Qi Shaoyou had an unusually large number of mischievous ideas.

“We’re just going out to have fun, it’s too tiring for the camerawoman to follow us. Give us an action camera, we’ll film ourselves.”

Qi Shaoyou smiled, and Liang Man, knowing what she was thinking, squeezed Qi Shaoyou's palm to tell her not to go too far.

The director certainly didn't want to, but at that moment, another crew came over to borrow the camerawoman.

Under these circumstances, the director simply went along with Qi Shaoyou's idea.

Anyway, the afternoon date location is to fill out a paint-by-numbers canvas, so we don't need that many camera girls.

[Drawing, it seems, isn't anything interesting anymore.]

Wait a minute, what is this woman doing?

[Sure enough, while others are showing off their love, these two are slaughtering single people!]

When the two actually started drawing, Qi Shaoyou immediately noticed that Liang Man had little experience with these subjects.

Because she had filmed related movies and TV series before, Liang Man's entire process was correct, but when she started writing, things just didn't go right.

Qi Shaoyou sidled up to Liang Man, took her hand, and the two of them colored the oil painting together. Originally, she had wanted to paint a picture of her master herself, but once she sat down, she felt there was no need to rush.

As long as they're together, everything can be taken slowly.

They have plenty of time; they have a lifetime to fill it all, just like painting the picture before them.

Much later, Qi Shaoyou saw a question and asked Liang Man.

"If things go wrong between us, will we still be together?"

Liang Man pondered for a moment, then shook her head.

“My age will prevent me from interfering in your life; I will be an observer rather than a participant.” Liang Man smiled gently, every word she spoke based on her past experiences.

“Even if things go wrong in our story, I think we’ll still be together.”

Qi Shaoyou spoke softly as she embraced Liang Man.

"Perhaps at first, I was afraid that my feelings would hurt you, Master."

"But as soon as you show even the slightest difference, Master, I can no longer control myself."

"I will find reasons and opportunities to deceive myself and rationalize all my actions. Then I will gradually invade my master's life and make him unable to live without me."

Qi Shaoyou reached out and played with Liang Man's hand, their fingers intertwined, warmth spreading through their bodies into their world.

If there were no urgent matters to attend to, Qi Shaoyou didn't think he could resist his master's charm.

Her personality inherently carries a hint of wickedness, and perhaps she would have tolerated it at first due to the constraints of societal norms...

Once she discovers that her master also needs her, then nothing will be able to restrain her anymore.

“You…” Liang Man leaned against Qi Shaoyou’s chest, smiling and shaking her head. She knew that she probably couldn’t really bring herself to cut off all possibilities either.

In that situation, she would hope that Qi Shaoyou had another lover. However, if she actually saw it, she wouldn't be able to accept it.

She would always go along with her little apprentice; she had never been able to do anything about Qi Shaoyou.

But it's okay, they will live their lives well.

————————

That concludes Sister Manman's storyline. Now it's time to move on to the little princess's storyline!

If you'd like to read the standalone book, "The Movie Queen: Why Flirt If She Won't Marry?", which is available for pre-order in my column, it has been slightly altered and is set in a parallel universe, so there might be some tension. [Heart]

Copywriting:

Qi Shaoyou first saw Liang Man at his mother's funeral when she was fifteen. His father pushed his elderly grandmother to the ground.

The guests had all left, and Qi Shaoyou, protecting his grandmother, felt only overwhelming despair. Even though she was an alpha, there was nothing he could do…

A voice rang out as she gripped the dagger tightly.

"Get out of the way!" A cold voice came from the doorway, and someone descended from the sky.

Then Qi Shaoyou heard the name she would remember for the rest of her life: Liang Man.

Falling in love with him was practically instinctive; she was determined to keep it a secret for the rest of her life.

Until she heard her agent say that Sister Manman had a problem with her glands, she volunteered to take the medication that Sister Manman was taking.

Holding hands, kissing, hugging—things she never dared to dream of before finally came true.

Just when Qi Shaoyou thought she had finally found happiness, her lover ran away.

I'm sorry, Sister Manman, but her bastard father probably only ever said one thing that was right: Qi Shaoyou is a wolf cub; once he bites, he won't let go.
