The sudden gunshot shattered the silence like thunder, instantly sobering Zhou Jianjia up and making her alert.
She recognized the sound all too well; it was the sound of the hidden weapon used by Chen Zhennan's cavalry.
"what happened?"
Just as Zhou Jianjia was about to get up to investigate, a figure suddenly leaped over the wall like a ghost, moving as swiftly as a cheetah. With a flick of his wrist, he threw a throwing knife at the two male concubines behind her.
With two muffled thuds, the male concubine fell to the ground, his blood instantly staining the ground red. Zhou Jianjia was shocked, and her expression changed drastically.
"Who are you?" Zhou Jianjia asked in a deep voice.
"Gu Siyao." Gu Siyao answered coldly, holding a long sword in her hand, the sword flashing as if announcing the upcoming life-or-death duel.
"Were you sent by Chen Zhennan?"
"That's right."
Zhou Jianjia's heart tightened. She hadn't expected Chen Zhennan to be so fast. This was the Great Zhou Dynasty, and Chen Zhennan's men had actually managed to infiltrate the palace.
"bring it on!"
Zhou Jianjia roared angrily, clenched her fists, and lunged forward, heading straight for Gu Siyao.
The two clashed instantly, exchanging blows with fists and feet, creating a violent collision sound in the air, like rolling thunder.
To Gu Siyao's surprise, Zhou Jianjia actually had some skill this week, but compared to her, she was still far inferior.
Gu Siyao was extremely fast; in less than ten rounds, Zhou Jianjia had been stabbed three times by the longsword.
