Chu Feng widened his eyes slightly and asked in surprise, "Twenty-odd isn't even enough to fill a tooth gap? I think it's better to just beat that brat up. The people of Dawu only recognize you, Chen Zhennan, so just kill him."
Upon hearing this, Chen Zhennan couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"Do you know why I didn't use your troops before? It's because you're too warlike."
Chu Feng scratched his head and smiled somewhat awkwardly: "General, how can we stabilize morale without a major victory? Besides, with such a long delay, money and supplies are becoming a problem."
Chen Zhennan nodded slightly, agreeing with Chu Feng's words. Da Wu was already out of money and food, and it was winter now. If they continued like this, they would be consuming far too many resources.
"Food and military pay are indeed problems, but if too many people die, the problem will be even bigger. I've done a survey, and the soldiers are between sixteen and forty-five years old. These are the laborers most needed after the war. Do you expect a bunch of old, weak, sick, and disabled people to clean up the mess?"
As he spoke, Chen Zhennan slowly got up and walked to the bedside to sit down.
"Chu Feng, tomorrow morning, send someone to inform Zhou Xiang that you are preparing to attack. Tell him to prepare sufficient supplies and deliver them here within three days. If he cannot do so, then lead your army into Qingzhou City and join forces with Zhang Xiao and Dong Ning to defend it."
Chu Feng was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, and then his expression turned serious.
"I understand. I'll have someone prepare right away and contact Zhou Xiang first thing tomorrow morning. But, Commander, what if Zhou Xiang doesn't agree?"
"Disagree?" Chen Zhennan chuckled. "Didn't I just say that if he disagrees, you should lead your troops into Qingzhou and join forces with Dong Ning and Zhang Xiao to defend it? You won't lose out either way."
Chu Feng let out a long "oh," and said, "Whether he agrees or not, I won't lose out."
