Chapter 234 General Elena

As the sun rises and dawn breaks, a new day slowly unfolds on the front lines of Kurokawa.

Ai Zijun immediately dispatched one of his lieutenants to cross the border and go to the Slavic military camp to meet their supreme commander.

...

The Slavic army camp was situated on a vast plain, with tents stretching as far as the eye could see and banners fluttering in the wind.

Inside the main tent, Slavic female general Elena sat calmly, drinking and eating meat, enjoying the pre-battle tranquility.

Elena had long, flowing golden hair that cascaded down her back and shimmered in the morning light. Her eyes were as deep as azure lakes, as if they could see into the depths of one's heart.

She wore an exquisite suit of armor, engraved with intricate patterns, each line telling tales of the glory and cruelty of the battlefield, revealing her noble status.

Beneath the armor was a deep red battle robe, which contrasted sharply with her long golden hair, making her appear even more heroic and dashing, like a fiery rose on the battlefield.

At that moment, the guards outside the tent rushed in, breaking the tranquility inside.

"General, a special envoy from the Prince of Zhenbei has arrived outside. He says he has urgent business to discuss with the highest-ranking general here."

Upon hearing this, Elena slowly raised her head, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes, which was then replaced by a calm curiosity.

She gently put down her wine glass, the wine swirling softly within.

"What does my old rival, Ai Zijun's man, want to do now? Go, let him in."

The guards quickly withdrew, and soon an envoy wearing a heavy cloak was brought into the tent.

The messenger's face bore the marks of time, but his eyes were firm, revealing an indomitable will.

He walked up to Elena, knelt on one knee, and handed her a sealed letter.

"General Elena, I am the deputy general of Prince Ai Zijun of Zhenbei. I have come to discuss matters concerning border peace with you."

Elena smiled slightly and ordered the guards in fluent Slavic: "Bring General Chen a chair and have him sit down to talk."

The guards quickly obeyed and brought over a sturdy wooden chair. Chen Zexu nodded in thanks.

After sitting down, Chen Zexu calmly looked at Elena, waiting for her reaction.

Elena opened the secret letter, and the handwriting on the letter was indeed Ai Zijun's own.

Her eyebrows twitched slightly, and a hint of surprise flashed in her azure eyes.

Although Elena and Ai Zijun are enemies, they still write letters to each other when there is no war, in order to test each other's attitude and bottom line.

As the female general on the front lines of the Slavic Principality, Elena has a deep understanding of the culture of the Great Yan Kingdom.

She not only knows the characters of the Great Yan Dynasty, but also speaks fluent Great Yan language.

This ability allowed her to always be one step ahead of other generals on the battlefield, gaining the upper hand in anticipation of opportunities.

Elena didn't initially think much of the back-and-forth visits between the two sides' envoys, since such things happened frequently.

But when her gaze fell on the contents of the letter, her expression involuntarily tensed up. The mention of Chen Zhennan in the letter made her heart beat slightly faster.

"Chen Zhennan? General Chen, is this Chen Zhennan the legendary Great Martial God of War?"

Chen Zexu nodded slightly, a hint of pride in his eyes, and said loudly, "That's right, it is Marshal Chen Zhennan. Marshal Chen has personally led the special forces to the front line in Kurokawa. He hopes to have a face-to-face meeting with your country's emperor."

Elena tapped her fingers lightly on the table, a thoughtful look flashing in her eyes. Her eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a cold and beautiful aura.

"Seeing our emperor is not so simple. His Majesty is thousands of miles away from here. If Chen Zhennan wants to meet our emperor, he will probably have to go to our capital in person."

Her words conveyed a sense of challenge, as if she were testing Chen Zexu's reaction.

Upon hearing Elena's words, Chen Zexu revealed an indifferent smile, remaining remarkably calm, which completely surprised Elena.

"General Elena, our Commander Chen has considered this, so there's another way that doesn't require so much trouble. If you can represent the Slavic Principality, you can also talk to our Commander Chen. What do you think?"

Elena chuckled, her smile carrying a hint of mockery, as if she were laughing at Chen Zexu's suggestion.

She slowly stood up and walked to Chen Zexu, her movements elegant yet powerful, like a queen surveying her territory.

"I'm here to meet you? Why should I meet you? As the general at the forefront of the Slavic Principality, I have already made all the preparations. If I don't fight this battle, wouldn't all my preparations have been in vain?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Zexu was momentarily stunned, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.

"Does the general mean that war is inevitable?" His voice held a hint of inquiry, searching for the last possibility of peace.

A resolute glint flashed in Elena's eyes; her gaze was like frost in winter, cold and sharp.

"General Chen, war is inevitable, just like the cold winter wind, which cannot be stopped."

Chen Zexu took a deep breath and slowly stood up.

"In that case, I will convey your words to Marshal Chen. Oh, by the way, the Prince of Zhenbei asked me to tell you that he has long admired you and will marry you as his princess sooner or later."

Upon hearing this, Elena immediately burst into laughter.

“The Prince of Zhenbei is really interesting. He wants to marry me. Fine, go back and tell him that I have three requirements, and then he can marry me.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Zuxu became interested and asked curiously, "What are the three requirements that the general mentioned?"

"First, submit to my Slavic Empire and become its vassals! Second, capture Chen Zhennan alive and send him to me! Third, hand over Kurokawa to us for management!"

Upon hearing Elena's three requests, Chen Zexu burst out laughing in surprise.

"General Elena, I will convey your demands to the Prince of Zhenbei, but I'm afraid the only way to determine the outcome of your three demands is on the battlefield."

Chen Zuxu could tell that Elena's request was intentional, and she had no hope at all.

Moreover, if Ai Zijun really agrees, it will be a great achievement for her, so why not?

Elena shrugged and smiled faintly, "How you choose is your own business, Prince Zhenbei. As long as you can do these three things, I will become his queen. Take care, and don't see me off."

Chen Zexu nodded slightly, said goodbye, and then turned and walked out of Elena's tent.

After riding back to Kurokawa, Chen Zexu hurriedly met with Ai Zijun and Chen Zhennan, and recounted in detail the entire conversation he had with Elena.

After hearing this, Chen Zhennan couldn't help but smile and look at Ai Zijun.

"I never expected Brother Ai to be interested in a female general from another tribe. How interesting. Seriously, if you really like her, I'll help you bring her back."

Ai Zijun waved her hand and smiled confidently, "I'll handle this myself. I'm confident that sooner or later, she will become my queen."
