Chapter 108 Don't Blame Yourself

"Me? What? Or does Young Master intend to do it himself? Come on, let's get this over with quickly, stop dawdling." Hong Xiaoduo was also getting impatient.

It was clearly the master and servant who were being dishonest, yet they twisted the truth and accused the villain first. In her eyes, there was no such thing as letting a small act of forbearance ruin a grand plan, or a powerful dragon being unable to defeat a local snake.

She has no power to change the fact that the world is in a bad state and not peaceful, but those who come to provoke her cannot be allowed to hide. Besides, she now feels that she is quite capable in combat.

Having survived several close calls, she had gained some confidence in her combat abilities. However, she was still unsure of her maximum potential.

When she was bored, she would think about this question because she was also very curious! At the same time, she knew that to determine the limit of her combat power, she would have to try it herself.

Looking at the group of servants in front of her, Hong Xiaoduo wasn't really interested. Using such ordinary servants to test her martial arts skills wouldn't be accurate!

The pressure is now on Guan Wu Gongzi; he's in a bind.

Just then, another servant ran over, and was taken aback when he saw the scene before him.

"Ah Guang, what brings you here?" Young Master Guan asked the servant who had just arrived.

Coming to his senses, Ah Guang quickly moved closer to his fifth young master and whispered, "Master is over there, he wants you to go back."

Father? Young Master Guan glanced into the distance and indeed saw the carriage in the mansion.

Then, turning to Hong Xiaoduo, he said, "I've only come to ask for clarification. When did I say I was going to take action? Since your account differs greatly from what this steward lady said, I'll question her further when I return to my residence. Farewell." With that, Guan Wu Gongzi turned and left.

Standing there, surrounded by onlookers, he wasn't afraid. But knowing that his cousin Xun, the woman in charge, might have really lied and turned black into white, he felt a little guilty. He was worried about how to end the situation, but his father ordered someone to call him back, so he left without thinking of a more perfect and reasonable explanation.

Watching the other party leave in a hurry, Hong Xiaoduo touched the soft whip at her waist and felt a little regretful.

He nodded and smiled at the onlookers, then turned and went into the inn. He first took Tian Shu and the others to the dormitory, telling them to behave themselves and not run around. Only then did he lead Yu Heng and Yao Guang back to their own rooms.

Inside the Guan residence, the stewardess, Madam Liu, knelt down with a thud, her face pale.

Originally, I thought I'd set a fire and have the people from my uncle's mansion teach that arrogant young lady a lesson, so that I and my wife could vent our anger. It would be a simple matter, since the young lady wouldn't have to report it to the authorities. But I never expected it to turn out like this!

"Speak, what exactly happened? Think it through before you speak. You only have this one chance." Guan Pinxing, sitting at the head of the table, said coldly with a displeased expression.

When Madam Liu returned, she did not see her husband, Xun, and was immediately taken to the main hall.

However, judging from her uncle's attitude, even if Lady Xun were here, she probably wouldn't save her. When she first arrived, no matter how her uncle's wife and the others questioned her, Lady Xun only wept and remained silent. So it was all her, the stewardess, who did the talking. Now, even if her uncle and the others knew the truth, they wouldn't think Lady Xun was wrong. They would only think that she was suffering from an unprecedented hardship and was being wronged.

Oh well, what can I do? I'm just a subordinate. It's all the Fifth Young Master's fault for taking action directly when he brought his men over. Why did he have to argue with the other party?

In the end, not only did the Fifth Young Master Guan lose face, but the most unfortunate one was her, the servant.

Despite her resentment, Madam Liu dared not harbor any illusions in front of the head of the Guan family.

"Uncle, it's all my fault. I only did this because I felt sorry for Lady Xun. I was wrong, please punish me." With that, Lady Liu kowtowed and prostrated herself on the ground.

"So you're admitting that what that young lady at the inn said is true?" Guan Pinxing asked coldly again.

Lady Liu didn't dare to look up and replied in a muffled voice, "Yes."

In his heart, he was thinking that he had already admitted his mistake, and he was not a servant in his uncle's mansion. At most, he would be scolded and then write a letter to his wife to ask her to discipline him more strictly!

As for the lady, she wasn't worried at all. She was only doing it for Xun Niangzi's own good, so naturally she wouldn't do anything to her.

"Although you are not a servant of my household, your lies that distorted the truth almost tarnished the reputation of my Guan family, so you cannot be spared. Guards, drag him away and give him thirty strokes of the cane as punishment," Guan Pinxing said sternly.

What? A beating with a cane? Thirty strokes?

When Madam Liu heard this, she was stunned. Although she had never been flogged in the mansion, she had seen others being flogged. Ten strokes would draw blood, and while thirty strokes wouldn't kill her, they would be more than half her life.

Especially since this wasn't even in their master's residence, no one would show mercy out of consideration for their years of working together.

She had heard about her uncle's temperament before, so when the servants of the Guan family dragged her out, she did not beg for mercy in vain. She just prayed in her heart that she could endure the beating and survive as long as she was not crippled.

If you are crippled, you will receive a small amount of money as severance pay and be kicked out of the mansion. If you die, all you will get is a straw mat and be buried in a mass grave.

"Xiao Wu, you acted rashly without investigating the truth. Do you know you were wrong?" After dealing with Liu Niangzi, Guan Pinxing looked at his youngest son standing to the side.

He was not disappointed that his son, whom he had never worried about, had made such a mistake today; he was just very surprised.

Fifth Young Master Guan, Guan Fan stepped forward, lifted the corner of his robe, and knelt down: "I know I was wrong, please punish me, Father."
