Chapter 114 is a bit of a disappointment.

So many empty rooms? Of course he knew, he had just walked around them for a while, but what could he do when only their large room had an intact roof tile?

The other rooms, having been abandoned for years and left unrepaired, either had half their roofs collapsed or were missing tiles, leaving the sky exposed.

Moreover, she had already cleaned the whole room spotless, so her young master could come in and rest immediately.

"Lian Gui, what's going on?" With an unpleasant voice, a young man in his twenties walked in. Judging from his clothes and arrogant expression, he should be the young master the middle-aged man had mentioned.

The young man's eyes lit up the moment he saw Hong Xiaoduo, his lustful gaze undisguised. He never expected to encounter such a beautiful young woman in this desolate wilderness.

She looks quite cool, very different from the women I've seen before.

"Young master, this old servant would like to switch rooms with this young lady, but she is unwilling," the steward-like man replied obsequiously.

"You insolent brat, what are you talking about? Get out of here!" The young master scolded the steward, then looked at Hong Xiaoduo with a smile.

His demeanor disgusted Hong Xiaoduo, and her hand involuntarily went to the handle of the soft whip at her waist.

Hong Xiaoduo noticed her clothes moving, turned her head and saw Tianxuan.

"Hmm?" she asked.

Tianxuan glanced at the young master, then pointed to the food roasting by the fire and the pot of porridge cooking, asking, "Should we move it aside first?"

Hong Xiaoduo was taken aback for a moment, then she understood what the child meant. She was afraid that she would spill the food when she fought with the other person!

Then she turned to look at the other children, all of whom looked very calm. The three youngest had already moved their small stools to the doorway so they could get up and hide inside if there was any danger.

Knowing that trouble might be brewing, they weren't nervous or afraid at all. Their excited eyes made Hong Xiaoduo regret not preparing some melon seeds for them.

Well, the fact that the children are like this shows that they believe in themselves, and Hong Xiaoduo suddenly felt a sense of accomplishment.

She turned to the annoying young master and said, "I'll say it again, there are plenty of empty rooms here. If you want to rest, find somewhere else."

"Please don't be angry, young lady. It was my servant who was ignorant and offended you." The young master said with a smile, then turned to the steward and the servants and told them to quickly tidy up the room.

The direction he was pointing was the room next to Hong Xiaoduo's.

This was intentional. Looking at the other party's lewd smile, Hong Xiaoduo told herself to calm down and not make a move now, as she would have no legitimate reason to do so!

Ignoring the other person, he returned to the fire and was about to sit down when he heard that annoying voice behind him again: "Young lady, your fire is burning brightly, and I'm quite cold. Would you mind warming yourself up here?"

Hong Xiaoduo frowned and turned around, only to see the young master smiling and already raising his foot to come over.

Behind him, the steward and the servants who were preparing to tidy up the room all wore wicked smiles, looking like they were waiting to see a show.

Hong Xiaoduo's anger was truly uncontrollable. She pulled off the soft whip from her waist and lashed out with it. In the next instant, the whip, accompanied by a gust of wind, struck the young master's toes with a muffled crack.

"Ouch!" The young master was so startled that he leaned back. If the servant hadn't reacted quickly and stepped forward to support him, he would have fallen to the ground.

Looking at the spot where the whip landed, where the blue bricks paved with it cracked, the young master's face turned pale instantly. If the whip had been just a tiny bit off, wouldn't his leg have been ruined?

Looking up at the person cracking the whip, I wanted to give them a good scolding, but when I met their furrowed brows and angry gaze, I felt a strange sense of panic.

"A bunch of good-for-nothings, why aren't you tidying up your rooms? What are you standing here for?" He turned around and vented all his anger on the person behind him.

The servants, who had been wronged, responded in unison, their eyes filled with resentment as they turned to look at Xiang Hong Xiaoduo.

Seeing the servants tidying up the room next to Hong Xiaoduo's, the young master angrily cursed, "There are so many empty rooms here, why do you have to squeeze in with other people?"

The servants were scolded again and hurried inside to find a suitable room.

"What's wrong with our young master today? He's so frightened by a young lady's whip?" a servant asked, puzzled.

Another servant said, "Who knows? Maybe the young ladies we've encountered before are all delicate and timid, and this is the first time they've met someone so fierce, so..."

"Our young master has never suffered such a setback before. If he fails this time, our lives will probably be in trouble," the servant who spoke first worried.

"Stop arguing and get to work. Just wait and see. With our young master's temperament, how could he possibly let this go? Just wait and see. That ignorant little maid doesn't even know who she's messed with. The more arrogant she is now, the more miserable she'll be later."

Thinking of their young master's past practices and methods, the other servants nodded in agreement.

The young master outside, startled, walked with a cold face to the newly tidied room with the steward. Seeing that the servants were clumsy and still hadn't started the fire, he became even more annoyed.

Turning around, I looked at the area a few dozen meters away. There was one adult and seven children by the fire. In just a short while, a small table had been set up, covered with a cotton cloth with a blue background and small floral patterns. Something was cooking in the pot on the fire, steaming and the aroma of meat wafted over on the breeze.

Looking at themselves, they were starving, shivering from the cold, and didn't even have a fire to warm themselves, making them look extremely pathetic.

"I'm hungry and thirsty. Are you all dead?" He turned around and cursed again.

On the other hand, the fire was very warm for Hong Xiaoduo. While waiting for food, the children took out peanuts they had bought from the villagers and roasted them on the tiles around the fire. Once they were cooked, they put them away and put them aside, then put the raw ones back on to roast. These were to be kept as snacks for the journey.

Hong Xiaoduo glanced at the group of people in the distance out of the corner of her eye. She felt a little regretful that a single whip could intimidate them.

The thought had barely crossed my mind when I caught a glimpse of someone walking this way.

Looking up, she saw the steward: "Young lady, you still have chickens and ducks on your cart. Could you sell us one? My young master said that you can name your price."

Upon hearing this, Tian Shu and the others immediately looked at Hong Xiaoduo, each wondering in their hearts how much their mother would sell her to these annoying people—one hundred taels?

If it's any higher, they'll probably get angry and embarrassed!

Upon hearing this, Hong Xiaoduo did not rush to respond. Instead, she turned to look over there. The fire had already been lit, but after the servants moved the felt mats and bedding inside, they did not go outside again.

So, they came to us unprepared, like fat sheep...
