Chapter 117 They've all become bodyguards

A scream of pain, followed by the sound of someone collapsing to the ground.

Although it was the middle of the night, the moon was so bright tonight that Hong Xiaoduo could see clearly what was going on.

Of course, the one who screamed and fell to the ground also saw clearly that what attacked him was a horse!

The hoof landed squarely on his back, and he felt like his waist was about to break. Didn't Ah Wu say that the one that kicked him was a donkey? Could it be that he was acting guilty and mistook a horse for a donkey?

Despite the excruciating pain in his back, he turned to look at the horse that had committed the crime. He watched as its front hooves rose and fell repeatedly, a sight that made his liver tremble.

Ignoring everything else, he pressed his hands to the ground and quickly crawled away on his knees.

The one who was originally standing on the other side was stunned when he saw his companion being attacked. When he came to his senses, he saw his companion scrambling towards the gate of the post station.

Should he continue? Or should he hurry back?

Just as I was struggling with this, I realized that the donkey that had been standing not far behind me had somehow come over.

"Mom!" Startled, he turned and ran back.

As I passed the courtyard gate, I saw the young maid looking at me with a smile.

"What are you laughing at? If you offend my young master, you'll be crying for your parents!" With that, the servant continued running inside.

Hong Xiaoduo smiled dismissively at being threatened again. If she hadn't been worried that these bastards would try to harm the children, she would have resisted her curiosity and not gone to see what was going on with the horse and donkey.

I was wide awake now, and leaning against the door frame, I couldn't help but wonder if either of the horse or the donkey was capable of guarding things.

Just then, the young master arrived, fuming, with his entourage.

He passed by Hong Xiaoduo without stopping, and went straight outside before stopping.

"I'm going to eat that chicken and that duck today, and I'd like to see who dares to stop me! I'll also slaughter that donkey and horse that kicked me!" the young master ordered loudly.

Hong Xiaoduo finally had a reason to stand up, crossed her arms and said, "So you've turned to outright robbery since you couldn't steal it?" As she spoke, she counted the number of people on the other side again. Very good, the master, the steward and the servants, not a single one was left out outside!

Seeing that she responded, the young master turned around and looked at her, sneering, "It's because you don't know what's good for you. You wouldn't even agree to buy it for me when I offered you money."

"Are you done talking?" Hong Xiaoduo asked patiently.

Seeing that she still showed no sign of panic and that her tone did not indicate any intention to admit her mistake or beg for forgiveness, the young master became even angrier: "What are you standing there for? Get your hands on her!"

Upon hearing this, the servants stopped looking at Hong Xiaoduo, returned to their carriage, and took out several sticks, heading towards the horse and donkey.

Chickens and ducks have more meat, but donkeys have more meat and taste better. There's an old saying that dragon meat is best in the sky and donkey meat is best on the ground. If you kill this guy, you can eat as much meat as you want.

As for the horse, horse meat isn't as tasty as donkey meat, so beating it to death was purely out of spite.

Especially the one who got kicked by the horse, he's still hunched over with a pained expression.

"Since you insist on this, then I will give you one last warning: it's not too late to stop now, otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless." Hong Xiaoduo finished speaking slowly, untied the whip from her waist, and walked towards them.

We should teach these bastards a lesson with a whip.

Having had several experiences in combat, she was no longer at all nervous about facing multiple opponents.

Hearing her say this, those who were originally going to attack the horse and the donkey turned around and stood protectively by their young master's side.

"Go get him, just don't hit my face," the young master maliciously instructed.

Even if he has broken arms and legs, it won't stop him from enjoying his meal later.

Upon receiving his master's order, an eager servant raised his stick and rushed towards Hong Xiaoduo.

Hong Xiaoduo sneered and lashed out with her whip, the tip of which struck the servant's arm.

The whip tip, whistling through the air, struck the servant's wrist, which was gripping the wooden stick. The servant screamed as the stick slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground, hitting his own toes in the process.

"Ah, young master, this servant cannot move his hand."

The young master and his companions were also taken aback; this young maid was not just pretending after all?

"Let's all come at once," the young master said again.

No matter how powerful someone is, they can't withstand a large number of people!

Upon hearing this, the other servants rushed forward together.

Hong Xiaoduo remained completely calm, lashing out with one whip after another, each time striking the wrist holding the weapon first.

In just a few breaths, several servants dropped their clubs, clutching their wrists and screaming in pain. Only then did the young master begin to panic.

"Protect the young master." The steward's voice was distorted, and the several screaming servants had no choice but to stand in front of the young master with gritted teeth.

They watched as the cold-faced maidservant toyed with the whip in her hand and approached them.

"You're asking for it yourselves, who can you blame? Weren't you so arrogant? Keep going, come on, all of you?" Hong Xiaoduo said with great disdain, looking at the young master who was retreating in fear.

"My father is a sixth-rank official in the imperial court. You, you, you dare to treat me like this? Are you out of your mind?" The young master stammered as he looked at the young maid with an unyielding expression.

"No matter what rank your father is, aren't you afraid of implicating him and causing him to lose his position by taking advantage of his status to commit evil deeds?" Hong Xiaoduo asked with a sneer.

"You, don't be so arrogant. If you have the guts, state your name," the manager said.

Hong Xiaoduo glanced at the steward and said, "Whether I have the ability or not, you've already seen it clearly, haven't you?"

"Hitch up the carriage, hitch up the carriage!" The steward finally understood. Even revealing his master's identity hadn't intimidated the man before him. It was time to leave this place, so he quickly urged the servants.

The servants hurried to harness the carriage, but unfortunately, their right hands wouldn't obey them, so they had to clumsily harness the carriage with their left hands.

"You just wait and see." The young master hurriedly got into the carriage, and only after he had driven more than ten meters away did he open the carriage window and utter another harsh threat to Hong Xiaoduo.

Hong Xiaoduo watched the servants jog away with the carriage, arms crossed, before realizing she had forgotten to check the injuries on their wrists.

He walked over to the horse and the donkey, gently patting one and then the other: "I never would have guessed you were so capable, you've become bodyguards."

The horse and the donkey seemed to understand her words, each nuzzling her arm with their heads.

"You've all worked hard tonight, so please get some rest," Hong Xiaoduo said gently to the two four-legged bodyguards, then walked back to the entrance of the inn and sat down there.

Before leaving, that young master made some harsh remarks, and Hong Xiaoduo knew that this trouble was far from over...
