Chapter 15 Revenge

If Ah Kuan had come from the other side, he would have realized that he had wronged the young lady. At this moment, the expressions on the faces of the seven children were completely different from those of a carefree person.

The eldest was preoccupied with what to do. Was it this complicated in ancient times? What was the point of getting a travel permit?

That old man at the science museum is really unreliable. Shouldn't scientists be highly intelligent? What's wrong with him? He even has a bagel like a sign?

Was it carelessness or a mistake?

Surely they're not going to conduct some kind of test, but rather try to see how the female lead would face and overcome numerous hardships in ancient times?

Your script made me pick up seven kids, and not only did I not have a single coin on me, you didn't even provide a travel permit, which was very important in ancient times? You old geezer, are you playing me for a fool?

The kind advice from the clothing shop owners made Hong Xiaoduo realize that she was facing even more difficulties.

If she doesn't buy them new clothes, people will think the group is a bit strange wherever they go. She can't just turn around and wear tattered clothes herself to become their beggar, can she?

She could try disguising herself as a beggar, but the thought of the tiny, unbearably itchy lice immediately made her abandon the idea.

However, if we clean them up properly, it will be even more inconvenient in the future. If we can't find a safe and suitable place to settle them, we'll have to keep them with us. Without travel permits, they won't be able to stay in hotels or even enter the gates of major cities and prefectures.

It doesn't matter if I'm alone. If I can't go into big cities or prefectures, I just won't go. I'm not here for tourism.

If she needs a hotel, it shouldn't be difficult for her to find one by herself.

Sigh, Hong Xiaoduo looked back at the string of people behind her and sighed helplessly in her heart. What should she do?

The seven little ones followed behind nervously. Their mother had bought each of them new clothes, shoes, and socks from head to toe today. Their joy had just begun, and their hearts were filled with happiness, when their mother encountered a problem.

They didn't have a travel permit, but they knew what it was and had seen it before.

They were beggars and wouldn't sleep in any inn. When they entered cities or prefectures, the guards would only give them a disdainful look. They just needed to hurry in; as long as they didn't cause any trouble, nothing would happen.

But now, a small note has stumped Mother.

After Xiao Yaoguang came out of the clothing shop, she stopped carrying her bag because her mother said she would take them to eat on this street.

Now, as I walk, past the steamed bun shop, my mother doesn't stop; past the noodle shop, my mother doesn't even glance at it.

A familiar rumbling sound came from Yaoguang's stomach.

"Here, let your older brother hold it for you." Because of the incident with Kaiyang, Tian Shu had learned his lesson. His mother was at the front, so he would be at the back, so neither of them would get lost.

Tian Shu squatted down to take the package from Yao Guang's arms. Yao Guang was reluctant to let go, not because she didn't trust her older brother, but because she wanted to hold it herself for peace of mind.

"Yaoguang, are you hungry? Just bear with it a little longer. Mother is thinking about something right now," Tian Shu whispered. "Brother will carry your new clothes for you. Don't worry, no one else can wear your new clothes except you."

Hearing her older brother teasing her, Yao Guang smiled shyly and let go of his hand.

"Hey, you beggar, stop right there!" A shout came from behind Tian Shu.

The words "beggar" made all seven children stop and turn around. Even Hong Xiaoduo, who was lost in thought, didn't hear exactly what was being shouted behind her, but she vaguely heard the words "beggar."

"I'm calling you." A-Kuan stepped forward angrily.

"What is it?" They had just met, and even the most unrelated person wouldn't forget so quickly. Besides, Hong Xiaoduo had a very bad impression of this kid.

Therefore, the tone of the question was not very good.

Ah Kuan was so angry he laughed. He rolled up his sleeves, pointed at her, and cursed, "Just because of you and this bunch of beggars, I was fired by the boss after only two days of good work. And you guys are just leisurely strolling around looking for a restaurant like nothing happened?"

"Eat at a restaurant?" These four words reminded Hong Xiaoduo. She subconsciously looked back in the direction she came from, then looked to the other side. They had almost walked out of the way. How long had they been walking? She really was going to take the children to eat first. How could she have forgotten?

Looking at the seven children's faces staring at her with tense expressions, Hong Xiaoduo felt annoyed. What was she doing?

I ate roasted birds this morning, and it's been like this ever since. I'm hungry myself, let alone the kids.

"It's not like I fired you, why are you looking for me?" Hong Xiaoduo didn't want to argue with this guy whose character wasn't very good.

At this moment, pedestrians on the road stopped to look, and some curious people gathered around.

Considering the character of the shopkeeper and his wife, it wasn't surprising that they fired the young man. However, when the shopkeeper said the young man was new, she thought it was just an excuse, but it turned out to be true.

"You're still laughing? What are you laughing at? Ask everyone, you brought a bunch of ragged, smelly beggars to the shop entrance, and they wanted to go inside. What's wrong with me stopping and driving them away?" Ah Kuan still felt he was in the right, so he spoke the truth with righteous indignation.

The onlookers had all sorts of opinions, but most people thought that Ah Kuan did the right thing.

Some people said that since Ah Kuan was a shop assistant, if he failed to prevent these beggars from entering the shop, the shopkeeper would be even angrier.

Hong Xiaoduo heard their chatter. When A-Kuan looked at her smugly, he asked, "Did you hear that?"
