Seeing the wicked smile on Hong Xiaoduo's face, Wu Biao's heart skipped a beat and he knew something was wrong. He tried to lower his left hand, which he had just stubbornly raised. He was quick to react, but he was still no faster than the whip in the other person's hand.
In the instant his left hand instinctively reached behind his back, a blur fell before his eyes, a sharp pain shot through his left wrist, and the faint sound of bones cracking reached his ears once more.
He recognized the voice, but he had only ever heard it from other people. Now, however, he was hearing it coming from his own body, and he heard it twice!
"Ahhh, you vile servant, you've gone too far!" Realizing he was completely ruined, Wu Biao collapsed, feeling as if the sky had fallen and his bandit life of drinking wine from large bowls and eating meat in large chunks was over.
The surrounding bandits were dumbfounded. They had come to watch the spectacle, but what did they see? Their third leader hadn't even used a single move, and he was already crippled?
By the time the bandits realized what was happening, the second-in-command had already led two of his men on horseback past.
"Second brother, avenge me! Cut off her limbs and pull out her tendons!" Turning his head to look at the people coming over, Wu Biao roared, the veins on his neck bulging.
Looking at his sworn brother's dangling left hand and slumped right shoulder and arm, he was not in any danger of dying, but it would have been better if he had died!
"So young, yet so ruthless," Gao Chengen, the second-in-command on horseback, said coldly, his brows furrowed.
Although Hong Xiaoduo was standing on the ground with her head held high, she had a nonchalant expression and her aura was in no way weak: "You bandits who rob and kill on the road say I'm ruthless? Don't you find it funny when you say that? Oh, you're the second-in-command of Mount Dalian?"
"This isn't my fault at all; it's your sworn brother's skill that's not up to par. Besides, I didn't kill him."
Gao Chengen laughed in anger: "So we should thank you for sparing our lives?"
"No need for that. So, are you three coming at me together? Or should we have a one-on-one fight?" Hong Xiaoduo knew that she had crippled their third leader in public, and everyone else had witnessed it, so they no longer looked down on her.
But so what? As long as I'm fast enough and stay calm and collected, I should be able to handle it.
"You two go, just capture him, whether he's dead or alive," Gao Chengen coldly ordered.
"Second Boss, didn't the First Boss want her to be his wife?" one of the two henchmen asked hesitantly.
Gao Chengen looked over sharply, but before he could speak, another person interrupted, "Are you stupid? She injured the second-in-command like this, how can we keep her as a bandit's wife?"
After saying that, he gestured for his companions to join him in attacking. They had seen with their own eyes how the third leader was crippled, so how could they dare to underestimate him?
Furthermore, since they were engaged in murder and robbery, there was no basis for the notion that a good man shouldn't fight with a woman, or that two men beating up a woman would damage their reputation.
Besides, it has already been confirmed that this young woman is no ordinary woman; her skills are deeply hidden. If we underestimate her now, we're just asking for trouble.
The two bandits were minor leaders on the mountain, and their skills were naturally inferior to those of the leaders. However, with the second-in-command by their side, if the two of them were to fall behind, the second-in-command would definitely not stand idly by.
The third leader was unlucky; the distance was too far, and what just happened was so unexpected that it caught everyone off guard, let alone able to come to their rescue. It was simply too late!
The two henchmen exchanged a glance, then brandished their knives and charged at Hong Xiaoduo.
Hong Xiaoduo held the whip in her hand, thinking about whipping the horse's legs, but she couldn't bear to. The rider was a bad person, what wrong had the horse done? The horse couldn't choose its master on its own.
Forget it, I'll just greet the people!
As the other party drew closer, Hong Xiaoduo calmly gripped the whip. Just as she was about to strike, a horse neighed behind her.
That's Xiao Hei's voice. Are the bandits sneaking around trying to drive away the horse-drawn carriage and donkey cart? They wouldn't go so far as to harm the horses pulling the carts, would they?
Hong Xiaoduo couldn't help but turn her head to look. The carriage was particularly bright because of the special lanterns that Old Luo had made, and the surroundings were clearly visible. Xiao Hei was steadily stopped there, and when it saw Hong Xiaoduo looking at it, it shook its head.
As soon as Hong Xiaoduo breathed a sigh of relief that her horse and donkey were alright, she heard the neighing of a horse and the screams and shouts of people coming from in front of her.
What's going on? When Hong Xiaoduo turned around and looked in front of her, she was immediately stunned by the scene before her.
The two bandits who charged at them both reared up on their horses, raising their front hooves.
The two men on horseback held tightly to the reins to prevent themselves from falling off.
After the two horses landed on their front hooves, it wasn't over yet. They continued to neigh, stand up, then fall down, then stand up again, repeating this cycle over and over. This forced the rider to pull on the reins with all his might, leaving him no chance to distract himself from grabbing Hong Xiaoduo.
"You vixen, what did you do to the horse?" someone on horseback shouted at Hong Xiaoduo, their voice cracking from exhaustion.
"Me? Feeling wronged and confused, Hong Xiaoduo turned to look at Xiao Hei again, only to see it shaking its head at her again."
Hong Xiaoduo pointed her whip at the two horses that had suddenly gone out of control and looked at Xiao Hei with her eyes, asking, "Did you do this?"
Actually, she was just watching the second-in-command on horseback, who still showed no intention of making a move, so she deliberately didn't take him seriously.
She didn't expect Xiao Hei to respond, except for shaking its head. Unexpectedly, Xiao Hei started nodding at her repeatedly.
If they weren't surrounded by bandits, Hong Xiaoduo really intended to have a good talk with Xiao Hei. What's wrong? Is he really that perceptive, even helping to fight against the bad guys?
Although Zhao's men tried to steal something outside the deserted inn last time but were kicked by Xiao Hui and Xiao Hei, Hong Xiaoduo still thought it was a coincidence and that those henchmen were just unlucky.
But tonight, once again, is this still a coincidence? It's just too coincidental, isn't it?
After tonight's events are resolved, I'll definitely do a proper assessment of Xiao Hei and Xiao Hui's intelligence.
"Hey, it looks like those two don't have time to catch me. If you want to find out my moves, why don't you go and do it yourself? Let's get this over with quickly and stop dawdling." Hong Xiaoduo called out to the second-in-command, who was sitting steadily on his horse.
"Who is your teacher, so arrogant as to be so presumptuous?" Gao Chengen asked the man in front of the horse, frowning.
This little maid is not only ruthless, but also quite wicked.
Unfortunately, we could only see the two whips she used against the third brother from a distance; we couldn't tell where they came from at all...
